"We were walking in this area and saw this spot and had to pop in to see what they had to offer. Before you get inside, they have an outdoor area for kids to play! How amazing is that? You go and get a coffee and pastries for the kiddos, you let the kids play in this enclosed play area outside all the while you get to drink your coffee in peace. It's an amazing concept! So nice for them to have an outdoor play area."
"Stopped by on a college visit trip to Vandy with the youngest and the wifey. It was the "number one" Yelp suggested restaurant in Nashville, so I had to see what was up with that. Cool ass place! I see what it's ranked so high, it's very " New Nashville" if you will.... Lot's of "New Nashville" stereotypes and stereotypical places around. Arrived to find a small wait around 11:00 or so. Posted up on the wait list and we were accurately quoted 30 mins. Inside was pretty warm but they warned us at the door. It was misleading up front as it seemed cool, it got way worse as you got further in, but they did warn of the heat so I can't blame them. Open kitchen is cool, till it ain't, LOL. Kid had pancakes and bacon. Asked for extra syrup, got maybe one ounce extra for a dollar, WTF, that's strange. Bad thing, it still wasn't enough. Better bring one of those little bottles Cracker Barrel gives you here, yo. They were just ok pancakes. Wifey had the square bene. Cute presentation, looked really tasty . I didn't try it though. Well executed sight wise. She also ordered Tomato Gravy and two biscuits. She hated it and only ate one bite. It is unlike any tomato gravy I have ever had myself either. Biscuits were tiny, more like "bisc".... You know, abbreviated versions of biscuits. Come to Memphis, go to Sunrise or Kinfolk for a whole ass biscuit. I had the cold brew and corned beef hash skillet. Cold brew was standard, did its job though. CBH skillet was meh. Kinda dry all around. The beef was cut way too big for as tough as it was. Hash itself was pretty tasty though. Egg was cooked sunny too done, then sat under the lamp and got fully cooked so no relief there. Great idea for a dish though. Kinda sad I landed on my choice actually. I saw some other really other cool looking foods landing around us. Not all that impressed with my visit really. Would not wait again. '24 - 58/100"

"Don't walk, RUN to Five Daughters Bakery. This was my first cronut experience and I'm not sure how it'll ever be beaten by any other place. The cronuts here are divine. There were so many flavors to pick from, it was hard to choose. My friend and I decided to try the sugar cookie 100 layer cronut and the spiced honey cheesecake cronut. They are RICH! These little circles of buttery sugar heaven make me want to live in Nashville. We both liked the sugar cookie (special holiday) flavor the most. There was a delicious filling and the sugar flavor was perfect. The spiced honey cheesecake was still delicious, but sugar cookie stole the show with that filling. It was a nice day so we decided to sit outside. They offer plenty of outdoor seating options here. The inside was absolutely adorable. Your Yelp photos will look incredible with their neon sign. ICYMI, I highly HIGHLY recommend trying this spot."
"Ok, we were visiting Nashville and while planning our trip, this place popped up everywhere, in every recommendation. So we went, and it was good. But I do not see what all the the fuss is about. We all (3) agreed that the lemon blueberry was the best flavor."
"If there's ONE thing to get here.... it's without question the cinnamon roll.I had breakfast...I asked for crispy bacon but since my over medium egg's whites were not done, they had to redo them and I ended up getting new bacon too...kinda limp..But I got this giant cinnamon roll and it took all my sadness away.It was THEEEEEE best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted - I shared with my table mates and had plenty more left for me.It was so tasty, the eggs the 2nd time around were cooked properly and the has browns and bacon were just ok... (1 star removed).Had it not been for that big beautiful cinnamon roll, I'd easily be at a 3.But I'd come back and give them another shot."
"I bought my nieces graduation cake from here. Service upon entering was great. The employee brought out my cake, had me inspect it and make sure I was thoroughly satisfied before leaving. The cake itself was Devine. Rich and chocolatey, which paired perfectly with some vanilla ice cream."
"We stopped in for lunch on a Friday on our way out of town. I'm glad we did. Unfortunately, they didn't have many of the baked goods I saw in other reviews. But what we had was awesome. We had the croque monsieur, leek and parm pastry, mushroom and feta (I think) pastry, tomato mozzarella quiche and a pistachio eclair. Loved every single thing I ate. LOVED. It was worth fighting traffic from downtown to get here. Shop is really cute. The owner was very kind and service attentive. There's a small parking lot for easy parking, but I imagine this fills quickly on the weekends."

Family owned bakery, best known for their "100 Layer" croissant style donuts. They also offer paleo cake donuts, cookies, other pastries, and specialty drinks. They currently have 8 locations in Tennessee/Georgia. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon, and they were completely sold out aside from two flavors: "The Purist" (a glazed cronut), and a paleo chocolate/peanut butter cake donut. I opted for both. The interior was charming, and the staff were friendly, but I was admittedly put off by the Bible verses on the packaging. "The Purist", a glazed Cronut, was just okay. I enjoyed the creamy, buttery glaze, but the layers were thick, heavy, and wet. The paleo donut was better than I expected, with a moist crumb and a rich icing. It was extremely oily though. I took a couple bites of each, and could not continue.

Wow. This place. The building itself was so cool on the outside we knew we were going to have an amazing breakfast. They had an amazing breakfast cocktail menu so I had to try the blueberry gimlet. Absolutely divine flavor!I ordered the jalapeño breakfast cakes and man oh man was the flavor amazing. We all ordered something different so we got to try all the delicious flavors. Food was amazing, service was great and the overall vibe of this place was amazing. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but I would recommend getting there early if you don't. We got there right when they opened and it filled up pretty quick with people waiting outside for a table. The food is well worth the wait for sure!

I mean you don't get much better than five daughters. I feel weird even writing a review because everyone knows this is the goat spot for Nashville dessert/donuts.If you're in Nashville and want to make an Instagram worthy trip then go here. One of the better donuts I've ever had in my life. Just be prepared to pay way more than you should for a donut.

Maple Glaze Doughnut: Five Daughters Bakery is a family business in Franklin, Tennessee. The bakery is owned and operated by the Meek Family, which includes their five daughters. Their signature item is known as the 100 Layer Donut, which is a hybrid of a croissant and a donut (basically their version of a Cronut). 100 Layer Donuts take up to three days to make and once cooked, they're rolled in sugar, filled with cream, and topped with a heavenly glaze. Seven staple flavors are offered year-round along with limited time flavors that change from month to month. Unfortunately, I could not visit the bakery myself, but my parents were nice enough to bring me some doughnuts after visiting my brother in Nashville. The Maple Glaze Doughnut is rolled in sugar, infused with vanilla buttercream, and topped with maple glaze dusted with cinnamon. Taking my first bite I was immediately impressed by the thickness of the doughnut and how sweet the maple glaze was. Texturally, the outside of the doughnut is crisp and sweet while the interior is chewier. After my second bite, I encountered plenty of vanilla buttercream lurking inside the pastry. I'm a tough customer when it comes to doughnuts that are supposed to be "packed" with filling and are not (Stan's), but it's safe to say Five Daughters Bakery knows what they're doing. The vanilla butter cream is a little difficult to see in pictures because of the light color, but trust me, there's plenty of it. Their buttercream frosting was incredibly rich and reminded me almost of butter. It does balance out nicely with the super sweet maple flavor though.Doughboy approved.*Also, great customer service. I emailed them a question about nutritional information and not only did they provide me with it, but they also replied the same day (Thanks Ronnie Meek!). Unlike other businesses that sometimes take weeks to respond (The Cheesecake Factory).Doughboy_Food_Reviews

First stop after a red eye flight was Flat Tire Diner. Highly rated and popular with the local folks. Ordered pork chop and eggs and country fried steak and eggs. Both were okay but nothing to rave about. Service was good and very friendly and kept the coffee warm. Ambiance was clean and airy and bright. The apple compote on my pork chop was a bit sweet and to cover up the dry, lean pork chop.

This place is definitely known for their muffins so we had to order some. We ended up ordering a lot of different ones: banana nut, blueberry, carrot, and we also got chocolate chocolate. Blueberry is my favorite. My entree for brunch was the poppy seed chicken which initially sounded really strange to me. But since they're known for it and I've never had it, I gave it a try. It's so good! I'm glad I got it because it's unique. Service was great. Super nice staff.

"I absolutely ADORE this store! My family and I had it on our list of places to stop by during our trip in Nashville. The decor once you walk up is so cute. Gives off farmhouse vibes, they have a few spots to take nice pictures! The shop is a pretty decent size. They have so many fresh food options that looked delicious! From what I remember there were full dinner options like lasagna, pasta and even desserts like full size cakes and whoopie pies. They also had various cheeses and meats to choose from. Unfortunately my family and I had other plans for the day so we were unable to try their fresh, refrigerated options. There's also a good selections of honey, jams & jellies, bread, snacks and candies to choose from! I would have personally loved to try their flavored bread but we were only going to be in Nashville for a few days.We did grab their caramel puffs, cheese crisp chips and buckeyes. Everything was delicious! My fiancé really liked the cheese crisps. I personally loved the caramel puffs. The buckeyes were delicious, very sweet! And they held up in the Tennessee heat very well. The employees were very friendly and helpful if we had any questions. I love that they have such a variety of items. There was also a section of the store where they had signs and different home decor items. They even had some pet treats for sale! Will definitely stop by again if we are in the area to try more of their treats!"
"Quiet and quaint cafe, great for catching up with friends or family. The atmosphere is cozy and welcomes you for extended periods of time. Things you should know:I. PARKINGThere's a private parking lot in front of the building and also behind ~ easy & FREE. II. SERVICE Accomodating III. QUALITY The Americano I ordered was very dense and concentrated ~ I was very happy it wasn't watered down. Definitely recommend the pecan shortbread cookie, we all shared one and couldn't get enough..! IV. CAPACITYAvailable seating for a Friday late-morning."
"This bakery is in a fairly suburban location next to a brewery with little to no overlap in operating hours, so it is quiet and an easy in and out. The spread looked marvelous. They had only one or two savory options that I wouldn't order and coffee but no other beverages. This was not a special diet kind of place either (not that you'd have trouble finding that niche filled somewhere in Nashville). However, grading solely on the quality of the sweet pastries I ordered, they were top notch, with complex fruit and spice flavors like Black Forest and Chai Pear. They were also moist and texturally pleasant, which is partly a credit to the new cooler I used to transport them, but will certainly reflect how they would taste if eaten fresh. And I would definitely recommend stopping in for a fresh pastry from here."
"I have been meaning to stop by here and finally had the chance. So glad I did!Very cute shop. Lots of options and great customer service'Had their iced coffee which was great and my S.O. had a cortado and was a fan. Also got a peach scone, however didn't realize till I left that it was blueberry. But didn't really matter because it was delicious and one of the best scones I've had in awhile. Definitely have to stop in for lunch."
"Modern third wave coffee shop with touches of vintage charm, located in the lobby of Nashville boutique hotel, Noelle. The space is filled with natural light, ample seating, and flat surfaces for working. They serve single origin coffee from local roaster, Sump, and high quality pastries. They also offer a small menu of made to order light fare. I was staying at Noelle, and ended up getting coffee here twice. On my first visit, the Iced Latte was exceptional, with balanced acidity and subtle floral notes. I also loved the Cherry Almond croissant, which had crisp, buttery layers and a delicious fruit jam within. On my next visit, my Cortado was so burnt that I could barely drink it. Perhaps an off day. Regardless, I think this is a good choice over a corporate chain any day."
"I stopped by Panini Bread Cafe for a sandwich today since I hadn't packed a lunch for work. Their menu is simple - mostly, you guessed it, panini. I got the tuna melt and a side pasta salad from the fridge. The tuna melt was average - not the worst I've ever had but certainly on the drier side and not very memorable. The pasta salad was okay - not super fresh, because some of the rotini pasta had dried out at the ends. The service was fine; I wouldn't say anyone was particularly friendly, but they were fast! This wasn't a meal I'm craving to repeat anytime soon, but I work very close to the cafe, so I'm sure I'll be back sometime soon when I forget to bring a lunch to work!"
"We happened to be having dinner nearby and decided to check out this bakery afterwards. We felt a little lost when we walked in because we didn't observe any signs labeling the different varieties of bread. However, an employee quickly walked up to us and let us know that the trays and tongs were by the door, and identified a few of the breads that looked interesting to us. Since it was our first time here, I was hesitant and choose two items--a pineapple bread and a cherry bread. The purchase was less than $2. Something like $1.80, which seemed really inexpensive because the two items were pretty hefty in size.Took them back to our hotel and split them in half. OMG...they were so good. I was tempted to eat the other half but decided to be nice and share them with my husband who thought they were good too.For the next two days, I kept thinking about this bakery and ways I could convince my husband to take me back there. However, my conscience for trying not to eat too many sweets and carbs got the better of me and we didn't have a chance to go back. But in the future, if we're ever in the area again, I can't wait to go back to this bakery and try more of their items. So delicious! Glad it's not close to where I live otherwise I'd be in trouble!"
"Gorgeous coffee shop. Friendly staff. Great place to meet for business. Staff have been friendly and welcoming. The decor is truly remarkable."
"I had a really unique and delicious Apple Pie Latte that was to die for. I also enjoyed a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit. Daughter had a yummy donut. Friendly service. Seating inside or out."
"We love Sweet thing bakery! Everything is delicious! Go check out their $1 cupcake Friday's which happen once a month. You will not be disappointed"
"If you love trying pastries and desserts. Lots of options here. This bakery kinda tuck away in the corner of the plaza. I was eating in the area just happened to stumble and seen this place. They have Birthday party picture frames hand made for purchases and cute piñata. Cashier lady working the front speaks only Spanish so she wasn't much help. She had to go to the back to find some one to help us out. I purchased a slice of tres leche cake and it was delicious. But definitely a place I would keep in mind to come back for churros next time."
