Murphy's Mountain Grill

Front Range friends, I have a recommendation. Beat the summer heat by driving up Bear Creek Canyon from Morrison to Evergreen, and have lunch at Murphy's Mountain Grill. Sarah and I thoroughly enjoyed our elk burgers, and the sundae I ordered for us to share for dessert was fantastic (I rarely order dessert, and almost never at lunch).Moraine loved her walk along, and dips in, Bear Creek at Lair o' the Bear Park in Idledale, four miles west of Morrison, and is tuckered out this evening. She's approaching 90 in dog years, after all. A one mile walk is plenty for her.We took the back way home down North Turkey Creek Road and saw some beautiful mountain, more precisely foothills, scenery.

Food: The food was Excellent! I ordered the Colorado Farm Raised Elk Cali Style Burger & I promise you not. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. The food here is fantastic !Service: Very amazing hospitality. 10/10 Customer Service, they were very nice & friendly, they welcomed us & treated us like home & overall it was an amazing experience, I will be coming back in the future! Ambiance: Evergreen is gorgeous & Murphy's Mountain Grill happens to be located in a perfect spot The inside is very clean, organized, & beautiful looking. The cabin vibes are immaculate & there's a little section where you can sit outside right next to the river/creek & hearing the sound of water right next to you is very calming & enjoyable. What a cool spot. Wandered in after a day of hiking, and really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. We were able to snag a table outside, right next to the creek. They had a variety of local brews on tap to choose from. We ordered the elk burger, Cali style. The burger had great flavor, but the patty itself was a tad dry. We also got the brussels on the side, and they came out really burnt. Our server apologized as soon as the plate came out, and she offered us a side salad, which was very good.

After golfing at Evergreen Golf course this is the perfect place to come and enjoy some very nice food. We were given this recommendation from the golf starter and happy he sent us here. The ambience is so....EVERGREEN! Wait staff excellent and everything we ordered was quite tasty. We would definitely come back. The Nachos are interesting and we were really pleased with their twist and take on it. The veggie sandwich very good but the Brussels sprouts even better! This is our first time visiting Evergreen and look forward to coming back.

Better-than-average pub grub in a charming setting. Good craft cocktails and decent beer and wine cards.

Great little eatery in the heart of town. I really enjoyed the different take on Brussel sprouts being shredded though a bit heavy on truffle flavor for me but that's a preference. My pastrami sandwich was really good and flavorful. My daughter had a pasta dish that we both enjoyed as I stole several forkfuls. We were envious over some other plates served to nearby tables but just gives us reason to return. The intimate dining allowed us to engage with other tables which was really pleasant. Next time I hope we are able to dine on the deck as it looked nice but weather was a bit cool during our lunch. Wait staff was awesome, very efficient and helped make our lunch a wonderful experience.

It's been awhile since we were last here, and decided to treat ourselves again. They have such a fantastic burger menu. I don't like beef so I ordered one of these "burgers" with grilled chicken and it's amazing. I ordered "The Murph" which has bacon and guac - yes please! My husband ordered the one with green chile and with elk and he said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had! Sweet potato tots are delish too. The food was a little slow to come out but the wait staff was attentive and the food was worth the wait. Give it a try!

It's locally owned and operated by a husband and wife duo. It's not a very large restaurant, though in the summer the patio is the place to be.Inside is comfortable and cozy, almost rustic cabin vibes. Beautiful restaurant with a small bar, community table, and four top seating. The menu is an interesting mash up of refined meets pub food. They're known for their burgers, so you should probably order one!+Evergreen Smoked Pork Green Chili ($9) // Shredded Cheese, Cilantro, Pickled Red Onions, Pepitas, Tortilla Strips. This was the most dolled up green chile I've ever had. It was also the GREENEST green chile I've ever had. I'm 99% sure they add green dye to it, which I don't seem to understand the reasoning for...Having said that, the flavors were good albeit the neon green color.Southern Charm ($17) // Angus Beef, Espresso Bacon Bourbon Onion Jam, Smoked Gouda, Roasted Garlic Horseradish Aioli, Pickles, Lettuce, served with House Cut Kennebec Fries. If you like strong potent flavors this is the burger for you. It was incredibly garlicky and horseradishy. Some bites were overkill, but the meat was cooked well and the bun was delicious. I scarfed it down! Fries were also very good.Pricing seems appropriate for portion sizes and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. Definitely a spot to impress someone visiting from out of state. They also have a robust milkshake and cocktail menu!Till we meet again, Murphy's.

Great local place. Good service. Both the Ins and Outs and Cali elk burgers were delicious!! Burgers were made so that they were nice size but not so think that they were hard to eat like so many are now. Also, enjoyed the location along the river. Next time time we'll have to try the bread pudding or one of the sundaes!

Love this place. One of our favorite spot when in Evergreen. Excellent selection, I like the pine cocktail!
