What a wonderful local restaurant with amazing staff and SUPERB food and drinks!! Due to a friend's recommendation, I've been to Murphy's a handful of times and each time, it's always a pleasure (especially to my tongue and tummy)! As you can see, I've eaten quite a few dishes - and they always happily surprise me with a unique, well-executed taste and plating. Visual is just as important as flavors and farm-to-table/fresh ingredients. The most recent time I went in 2024, I shared the following:Panko Crusted Crab Cakes - 5/5Carolina Trout with cauliflower, almonds, browned butter, roasted grapes - 5/5Fulsilli Pasta with english peas, pistachio pesto, crispy garlic and orange - 5/5Drink...can't remember, but it looked gorgeous and was very refreshing, had 2!Dessert was some kind of strawberries and blueberries ontop of a cake, delicious as well! Oh...also had their home-made cookie on the way out, yums!A+++, HIGHLY recommend!Great for celebrating anything or just 'out to eat' - classy, clean and commendable all around!

My friend had made reservations in advanced for brunch on a Sunday morning. Given how little tables were still available, I would also recommend others to plan ahead as well. As such, we did get seated right away but I didn't see anyone having to wait outside. Parking can be a little difficult as the streets fill up fast. Complimentary fresh muffins and bread are provided and delicious! You may need to ask for more butter and jelly since they give a very scant amount. I found their Eggs Slum Mulligan to be very filling since there was so many potatoes. Some extra bell peppers or vegetables could have added additional texture and flavor to the dish. The presentation of the Chilaquiles was gorgeous and also tasted just as good. I liked my Espresso martini but also enjoyed a sip from my friend's strawberry mimosa and blueberry mimosa.Overall, I had a great time in the well lit and comfortable atmosphere. It can be as casual or upscale as you want it to be. Staff were great but prices were slightly higher than preferred. Nonetheless, I'd still come again and recommend others to check them out too!

Everything was so yummy! I particularly enjoyed the muffins and biscuits (which came with butter and jam) to start. These were warm, moist, and such a nice surprise! For mains, I split the Eggs Virginia Highland and Mozzarella and Avocado toast with a friend. Both were flavorful and filling. I especially enjoyed the crispy topping on the avocado toast. The balsamic also added a nice kick of acidity. As for the Eggs Virginia Highland, I loved the focaccia it came on. Honestly, everything was delicious and service was great! I will definitely be back.

This place is a MUST if you want a good lunch or brunch! I bet their dinner is also superb, we were in the city for a couple of days and one of the first places that popped up to go check was this one, and they were so right! We started our lunch with the burrata appetizer, and it was so so good, they presented way different than other places, they add the rhubarb and radishes, and it was our first time trying with it and it really enhanced the burrata flavor! The bread that goes with it was so good too. I ordered a latte to start and it was so well made and delicious! Then I moved into something a little bit stronger so I tried their espresso martini and it was GREAT too. When it was time for our main, I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered de lobster Cobb salad, both dishes were out of this world, insanely good! Our waitress, Jasmine was so on point with all her recommendations, and her service was top notch. The restaurant looks very traditional but at the same time very well updated. They have a large selection of wines available for purchase and someone that can help you with it. Their bar area seems very nice. We finished our meal sharing a seasonal dessert they have, I can't remember the name but it was like a peach bread with ice cream, and it was excellent! We are sure coming back to Atlanta soon, so this is gonna be our first stop for sure.

With our flight home to NJ canceled, my wife and I had a night to spend in Atlanta. What to do? Find a nice restaurant for dinner! My wife gets credit for finding Murphy's. The restaurant is located in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood. If we ever relocate to Atlanta, this fantastic town is where we'll be moving to! The restaurant has been here since 1980. It's a restaurant, but also a bakery. On a quiet Monday night, it was very relaxing. We started out with glasses of wine and the Burrata appetizer. The burrata was so creamy and the pieces of rhubarb its served with was really tasty. For entrees, my wife had the Georgia Shrimp Roll and I had the Guinness Braised Brisket. We both thought they were very good, I really liked the Brisket. Desserts were very tempting and we ordered the Bonzo. This was a brownie, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse slice. Delicious! The area is very busy, but there's valet parking across the street. Nice and easy! This restaurant was a great find!

I picked this spot for brunch when in the area. The restaurant is cozy, bright, and inviting. The minute I walked in, I knew I was going to be impressed. They start you with poppyseed muffins for the table which were top notch. I tried the smoked salmon omelette with cheesy grits for $19, off the daily specials. It was a perfectly cooked omelette and the dill, crème fraiche, and large chunks of salmon were amazing. The cheesy grits were well flavored. This was my perfect brunch meal.My dining party all loved their meals here too. Service was attentive and always around for coffee or water refills. Highly recommend!

I've been here for dinner but my first tike for brunch. Definitely a local staple imo. I made reservations the day before but there were still empty tables when we made it for our 10:45 am brunch reservation. We checked in at the hostess stand and were seated right away. Our server came right away for our drink orders - I got a cappuccino with almond milk. While waiting for our drinks, we received a pastry basket with a few pieces of lemon blueberry muffins and biscuits with jam and butter. I thought both muffins and biscuit were too dry so having the butter and jam at the table helped. I love that my cappuccino was served with a biscuit! For my meal, I ordered the eggs Virginia Highland with home fries - it's basically an eggs Benedict with focaccia instead of an English muffin, and mushroom and veggies instead of ham with a sun dried tomato hollandaise. My food wasn't too overly salty which I appreciated. The focaccia was soft and well buttered and personally was my favorite part of the dish. The home fries were pretty good too.

Nice food but service could use just a lil more tweaking towards the customers. We sat at the bar for quicker service *fingers crossed*. The bartenders were so social with one another at times customers, including me & my friend and both group of guy customers on either side of us, waiting for extremely long for condiments, coffee refills & just to pay before leaving. There were 3 different managers just walking around so we all had to began asking for their assistance. Shout out to Ella for knowing that menu and suggesting yummy options & combinations. But her & Luka gotta read their customers better & stay on it. I had chicken sausage(so big juicy & a lil kick of spice), half French Toast & 1/2 pancakes. The French Toast was dry & lacked flavor & fluff. Definitely on the slim side. Now the pancakes were buttery & went perfect with the banana that came with the French Toast... hella delicious. $21 meal

We came here for brunch, the neighborhood is very cute and such a good spot to walk around after meal.I got the egg slum mulligan and my friend tried the braised brisket hash. Both were amazing but if I visit next time I'd definitely get the braised brisket hash. The Egg slum mulligan has two perfectly poached eggs with lots of bacon chunks, potato, and andouille sausage beneath it; and the portion is perfect for brunch - not too heavy but also satiating.

Parking: I saw a lot of reviews that there is street parking, but the particular Saturday we went there was some sort of festival happening and I ended up having to valet at the bank which ran me only $3. Very convenient and right across from the restaurant. I recommend doing a quick check of what's going on in the area when you plan your visit. Service: I made reservations and when we arrived they were honored and we were sat immediately. One observation was that some of the tables were extremely close together, like I couldn't stick my arm out without touching the guy next to me which was.. different. Food: I ordered the Eggs Slum Mulligan which was good but nothing I would personally rave about, your standard eggs meat and potatoes type dish. I probably could've tried something different, but nothing else really jumped out at me except maybe their chilaquiles so maybe I will try that next! Drink: I got a strawberry rhubarb executive mimosa which i really enjoyed. It wasn't too sweet and tasted very smooth to have so much stuff in it. One highlight I wanted to note was that my friend and I likely overstayed our welcome after finishing our meals, catching up on some girl talk when the manager came over and offered us another round of drinks to switch tables to accommodate another table. This was a highlight for me because many other restaurants have a 'time limit' and would've likely kicked us out but he was accommodating and handled that very well and gently in my opinion.
