Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz

I hate to do it, but I can only give Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz two out of five stars ("Could've been better"). This humble, "mom and pop" food truck, serving the Triangle area, celebrated its two-year anniversary back in November 2020. The truck visited our apartment complex.I ordered a six-count of chicken wings ($8) and "boneless bites" ($7). For the six-count, I ended up getting a combo ($11) with no drink. Combos come with a drink, but they didn't tell me to grab a drink when I picked up my order. I didn't know I was charged for and picked up a combo until after we got home and I opened the boxes. Also, they asked me what sauce I wanted. I didn't realize sauce cost extra. The menu said "extra sauce" costs $0.25 each. The menu should be corrected to say just "sauce." The word "extra" should be removed - it's misleading.The wings didn't look nor taste impressive. They were cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel wings, like wings from one of those old Chinese buffets. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good/great either. I expect more out of a food truck. I got the wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Here, it's a dry rub (not lemon pepper wet). I was also told they have a Parmesan dry rub that wasn't listed on the menu. All the other flavors were wet (sauce). There was barely any lemon pepper seasoning/flavor on the wings. Disappointing. Also, the wings tasted a little overcooked, a bit dry, and they weren't very meaty.The fries were fine, cut with some potato skin left on. A little soggy. They were appetizing when dipped into the ranch dressing.The boneless bites looked like pieces of tofu. They tasted better than they looked. I got the bites with hot sauce. As a spicy food lover, I didn't find the hot sauce to be hot at all. It was mild at best. However, I did think the bites were fairly tasty. The meat was more tender and moist than I had anticipated from the looks of things. Like the fries, each bite tasted more appetizing when dipped into ranch. There were about 8-10 bites in my order, some pieces a little bigger than others.Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz also sells chicken sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, chicken tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, fry variations (e.g. garlic-Parm fries, chili cheese fries), and your standard bags of chips like Cheetos, Funyuns, and Doritos. At the time of our visit, combos were $11 each (includes fries and a drink) and most a la carte items were $6-8 each.Aside from the mix-up with my order, service was fine. Like other food trucks, the business uses Square for transactions so I had my itemized receipt automatically emailed to me.Compared to most other food trucks, Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz is low-budget. It's an old white truck - looks like it was once a taco truck - that shows some wear, especially on the menu with items blacked or whited out and prices stickered over. It's the opposite of one of those shiny, fancy, expensive-looking trucks.

The woman taking the order was so rude to start the experience then they hand us a pager. After 40 minutes of waiting (mind you they said 15 min) I went out to check. They said the pager must have been broken as they have been paging us. They handed us the cold food. The food was equivalent to food sitting under a heat lamp for hours.

My husband I visited this truck at Gizmo Brew Works off US-70 one Saturday afternoon.We shared a wing combo: 6 lemon pepper wings, hand-cut fries, and a drink.We CRUSHED the wings. They were a nice balance of citrus and spice (hard to do sometimes). The hand-cut fries were bomb. Slim and lightly salted. My favorite . We travel for good fries and for sure we'll travel for these! (Literally I saw Mr. Wingz make the fries from a fresh potato and I was sold)We even grabbed a layered bundt cake to top off our meal I highly recommend this truck!

I really hate to give a food truck a bad review but this 'truck' really needs to get it together. This is a ZERO STAR REVIEW!! I went to the food truck rodeo in Brier Creek last night and decided to order some boneless wings from this truck. I order boneless wings in teriyaki sauce with a side of ranch dressing and decided to order two all beef hotdogs too to take home to a family member. I waited 55 minutes for my order!!!!! You read that right!! FIFTY FIVE MINUTES!!!!!!! The food truck rodeo was over, there were hardly any people left, it was after 9:00. I was tired, hungry, and annoyed. I really wanted a refund more than I wanted my food after a FIFTY FIVE MINUTE WAIT!!! I asked if they put the ranch in the box. Of course they said yes. That was a lie. I got home with my food only to discover that I had PLAIN (no teriyaki sauce) boneless wings and ONE hotdog without the second hotdog. Hotdogs are listed as TWO hotdogs on THEIR menu. Both orders also contained fries which I DID NOT ORDER. And I'm sure you've already guessed it, but there was NO RANCH in the box! Also, since it came with fries that I did not order I am sure they charged me for drinks that I did not get. Unbelievable. To say that I will never visit this truck again is a massive understatement. I'd also like to note that a family of four ordered food 45 minutes AFTER me and they received their four boxes of food BEFORE me. I know they had to have ordered the same thing too because when I approached the window to order they said all they had left was boneless wings and hotdogs. Something certainly is not adding up. DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

Best chili cheese dog I've ever had . The chili cheese fries are very good you can really taste the difference in fresh cut fresh fries .

Horrible. They did not render the fat out of the wing. The lady said about 15 minutes. It was a little under 45. While I order hot wings, the sauce was lost somewhere. Lastly, I ordered two orders of hot wings and received 3 pieces of celery. The order was $17 and chage. Not worth it by any means.

Whenever the food trucks come to my office I always give them at least two chances before I make a negative review. This was my second opportunity to get food from this truck and unfortunately this is not a truck that I will frequent.First of all the wait time; if you come to a business you have to be prepared to serve your food in a timely manner. It took 25 minutes for me to get my order of chicken tenders and fries.The fries which were supposedly hand-cut were extremely greasy. The chicken tenders were so over cooked it was like eating jerky.Lastly, the cooler with the drinks was just full of water. Being that it was a chilly day, I would have to say that they opted to use water to cool the drinks.

They sponsored a food truck night in our community and their food was off the chain!!We had the fish it was cooked perfectly and hubby had the chicken wings, they also were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend them and we're planning asking them back in the spring yum yum

First time I tried these guys.Git the Philly Cheese sandwich with chicken.Came with fries.I thought the food was good.Sandwich very good.Fries were the thin type, so if you don't like style, well...okI'll try them again when they are in my area.

This food truck came to my complex today and I was eager to give them a try because I love supporting B.O.B's. 1st - the truck didn't appear to be too clean on the inside from what I can see.2nd- I ordered Buffalo wings and Hot wings. I was given 6 small wings and fries for $9. The wings were "rubbery" could have been cooked longer. The skin was very soft. The wings were not seasoned, only by the sauce so they were very bland. I had to cook them a little longer and add seasonings when I got home. The fries and wings DO NOT remotely look like pictures here.3- I also got a slice of strawberry cake and it was very dry, not moist at all. Tasted like store bought cake.Needless to say, this food was disgusting!!! It was very disappointing! I would have been better off going to McDonald's and got better food for $25!!
