We just got a dinner take away. Fried chicken was good. Slaw and potato salad and hush puppies were also what I remember. But the bbq...what the heck was that. Tasted no smoke. The chillies seemed like Calabrian. Way to spicy. Grandma couldn't eat it. The meat seemed like yesterday's catch...smelled like it too. What has happened?

Second time trying this place out. I didn't care for the first time. Figured I'd give it one more round. The place was clean and smelled good. The staff that we had encounters with were friendly and stayed busy. The atmosphere is comfortable and home feeling. My wife that had the pork enjoyed the plate. Said it was fresh and hot. I had the shrimp plate with fries, Mac, and hush puppies. The shrimp seemed as if it is definitely frozen for a bit but still tasted ok and was breaded decent. The fries were fries you'd get at a store. The Mac and hush puppies were hot and fresh. I gave four stars because their salt and pepper shakers got some humidity and didn't work. This was throughout the restaurant. An employee was helpful and gave us one that worked some. The floor also appeared to be a bit slippery and sticky and I would guess it's whatever they use to clean with. In the end of it all, I'll be back to get more.

Gotta love this place. Grilles, bbq, or fried is on the menu. The hush puppies are really, really good. The corn bread mixture and deep fried in a baby carrot shape is the right bite size choice. Goes well with Moore's spiced vinegar. Had to brown bag my left over hush puppies:-)))))The baked beans has a good chunk of meat mixed in, with brown sugar and other condiments. The potato salad was OK. And of course, New Bern being the Birth place of Pepsi Cola, a nice cold Pepsi!!!I chose to have my chicken fried instead of grilled or bbq. Love the crispiness of the skin while the dark or white meat being cooked to perfection and tenderness. Unlike the Louisiana chicken, no grease on Moore's fried chicken!!!Overall, good comfort food and fast to serve.

We took a bite and left throwing away our food and $30 unfortunately. This is inedible. Food was cold, unseasoned, and old. Don't waste your money like we did.

My wife and I were in town and happened to stumble on this place because we were starving. We both greatly like barbecue but weren't necessarily in the mood for it. Very glad we decided to stop. The barbecue was really good, came out quickly and hot, and the service was outstanding. My wife wanted to sit in a side room that was being closed down, but the two young boys working back there allowed us to sit. They were Super polite, friendly, and worked their tails off. I will likely stop here every time we are in new Bern because we could not have had a better experience!

Nothing says NC barbecue or fried chicken like Moore's. We had the White chicken meal with two sides. I went for the Brunswick stew and collards. The chicken was soooo sweet and tender. Man was it good!

We love Moores! Especially free kids meal night on Wednesdays! I love the fried fish, my youngest daughter loves the hot dog, and my oldest daughter loves the chicken tenders and the fried fish. My wife also likes the fried fish. Their ice cream is also excellent.

5th time going through drive -thru and ordered baked chicken and told it would be a 30 minute wait. Stop advertising food that you can't serve in a timely manner!!!!!! Never had this problem with Smithfield's.
