Mochi Donuts finally made it to Atlanta first at Mochibees - and although the first location was in Duluth, the location inside H-Mart Doraville is more convenient. When they first opened, I'll admit I was skeptical they would be good. But the first half dozen I bought were pretty tasty. Perfect chewy consistency, not too sweet and the flavors were pretty good. I particularly liked when they have flavored donuts (not just plain donuts) - especially the Ube flavor. Since my first purchase, I feel like the donuts have gone downhill. If the donuts sit in the box for a couple days, they leak grease everywhere which I find odd - other mochi donuts don't do that. I also don't like how the only "flavor" of the donuts come from the frosting or toppings. Otherwise, the donuts taste like bland fried chewy dough. In 2022, I decided to give them another shot and when I bought a half dozen, I found they were boxing them in individual plastic boxes - which makes convenient sense if you want only one or two donuts. But not sure why we're putting 6 plastic boxes inside one big paper box that way. It definitely seems a bit wasteful otherwise but maybe helps contain the mess if the donuts are a little greasier. Overall, if I'm needing a mochi donut fix in a pinch, Mochibee's is super convenient. Otherwise, they're not my favorite mochi donuts I've ever had.

Located inside the busy, bustling, dining area of H-mart, it was honestly a good spot for this kiosk as you do see a steady flow of people coming in and out of H-mart. It was more of a like a little kiosk but it was super cute! I love the bright colors. However, if you don't like loud environments, then I wouldn't suggest dining there. We went on a Saturday and the dining area was packed. Not sure how it's like on weekdays. We're not from around the area so I can't tell you how the atmosphere is like usually. I love mochi donuts and when we were done shopping at H-mart, we saw the kiosk and immediately I wanted to try a mochi donut. If you don't know what a mochi donut is, it's essentially a donut with the texture of a mochi. The doughnuts are usually made of rice flour (mochiko) which gives it that stretchy consistency in the dough. It also makes the dough not as heavy or dense. I decided on the melon mochi donut. They had other flavors like sesame, strawberry, milk tea, Oreo, etc. the flavor on the donut was pretty decent and the doughnut itself looked cute! It was glazed with honeydew flavor and had a golden sandwich cookie with a melon filling on top. To be honest, it's not one of the best mochi donuts I've had but the flavor was pleasant. The honeydew flavor was a little artificial but I personally like it! The dough itself to me was a little too soft and more spongy. I didn't get much of the signature mochi pull when I pulled the balls apart either. Overall, a decent mochi donut and if you're already in the area, then I would pick up one. Prices are reasonable and customer service was pleasant. The girl at the cashier was so sweet and nice!

So good! I'm so glad they don't make you buy a dozen anymore mostly because I would eat the whole dozen! Never try this you should try it!At the exit of H Mart checkout is a wonderful, tempting donut place! I would definitely eat when I go to H Mart!

One of the best things about going to H Mart! These are the only mochi donuts I've ever had but I would definitely try more based on this experience. The only downside is they taste slightly like the oil used to fry them. Not sure if it's because they're not as fresh as when you'd buy them from the actual bakery. I think the original glazed might be my favorite but they're all very good.

The mochi donuts at this location are not made in house, there is no kitchen as it is more of a kiosk. The donuts are prepackaged from the Duluth location. That's why it was not as fresh as the ones I regularly get in Duluth. However, it is a nice convenient option to have when I crave these donuts and don't want to drive up to Duluth. The flavors change regularly, and since the donuts are prepackaged, you have to get the 6 pack that has one of each flavor.

Donut worry, bee happy Atlantans.. We finally have mochi donuts! After much anticipation, Mochibees finally opened their first location less than a month ago. Shortly after, they opened a second inside HMart in Doraville. Both locations have been selling out everyday since and for good reason. The Duluth location often sold out within hours.Lucky for me, I found myself near Doraville one Saturday afternoon. To my surprise, they weren't sold out yet and there wasn't a long line. I quickly ordered a half dozen, one of each flavor. A half dozen is $15 before tax. The staff was very friendly. The flavors change daily and there's usually 6 different ones. At the time of my visit, they offered original, chocolate, fruity pebbles, salted caramel pretzel, cookies & cream, and matcha oreo. I exercised a lot of self control and didn't take a single bite until I got home. I couldn't open the box fast enough when I walked in the house. The mochi dough is perfectly chewy with a slight crunch on the outside. The flavors are subtle and complement the fried dough. My favorites were the cookies & cream and matcha oreo. They're so light and before you know it, you've already eaten an entire box. Kidding. I shared, but they were gone within minutes. My only regret is not ordering two boxes!

ANOTHER MOCHIBEES CLOSER TO ATLANTA!The first mochibees opened up in Duluth a couple of months ago, and now there is another one in the hmart food court in Doraville! Right after a day of shopping, go pick up a box of mochi donuts!I will say that they aren't as fresh as the ones in Duluth since they don't make them there (they just drive them down from duluth). however, if you want to try mochi donuts and don't want to go all the way to Duluth, then this is a great option!! right now you can only buy a half dozen box, rather than individual donuts. i think they will be selling individual donuts soon, which is exciting! i also really like that the menu changes daily, so it's something new every time you go. i highly recommend trying them if you're in the area because they're so good and chewy!!

We finally got our hands on Mochibees! Each day they deliver to their H-Mart location as they only bake them in Duluth. Their flavors are posted daily on their instagram page as they do change. As they don't bake donuts at this location, once they're out, they're out for the day. Sometimes they'll get another batch delivered down but it doesn't happen super often. This location only allows for you to buy the donuts by the half dozen with one of each flavor already pre-packaged. 6 Mochi Donuts are $15! The flavors we got were:- Churrotella- Black Sesame- Ube- Matcha Oreo- Red Bean- Chocolate Crunch These donuts are chef's kiss! They were so light and had the perfect amount of chewiness. All of these flavors were impeccable and came through nicely. I'm not the biggest red bean person, but I even enjoyed this one! My favorite flavor was either Matcha Oreo or the Black Sesame! The Ube flavor could have been amped up a notch or two though, but still happy with it! We'll most definitely be back!

WE'RE SO EXCITED there's finally a mochi doughnut spot in Georgia. We haven't been able to find quality, chewy, and flavorful mochi doughnuts since we were in New York City. Things you should know:I. LOCATIONWithin the Doraville HMart cafeteriaII. SERVICEYou can't pick up just one or two individual doughnuts at this location~you can only purchase a box of six pre-selected flavors. It's a little much for just one person. Hopefully they change this business plan as things progress and expand, but it's fun to try all the flavors...!III. QUALITYGreat, chewy, and made fresh daily at the Duluth location.IV. CAPACITY There's a steady flow of customers. They only have a specific quantity of boxes available, after making them at the mother-branch location in Duluth. Once they're out, here~they're out. There isn't a kitchen to restock.

Ube, milk Pebbles, matcha Oreo, chocolate crunch, white sesame and caramel churro. After eating at a nearby restaurant this past Saturday, I wanted to see what desserts were available at the H Mart food court. Last month my sister had wonderfully described to us her recent find of mochi donuts where she lives on the west coast. I told her that mochi donuts sounded intriguing, and that we'd keep an eye out for them in Atlanta.Lo and behold! Soon after we entered the H Mart food court, R said, "Hey! It's the mochi donuts that your sister told us about!" There was a Mochibees space in the food court area. Of course, we had to check it out. Ok, to me, they looked like babies' teething rings that were coated with sweetness, but, apparently, they're donuts with little balls of mochi cooked into them on the inside. We had a few questions for the two Mochibees employees, such as "What are the flavors?" Answer: today the six flavors available were Ube, milk Pebbles, matcha Oreo, chocolate crunch, white sesame and caramel churro. "Do you have any other flavors?" No, this is all that we have today. We don't make the mochi donuts here. "Can we mix and match mochi donuts?" No, they're already packed in boxes, and there is one of each flavor in the boxes. "How much are they? They're six for $15. "What time do you close today?" We'll be closing when we sell out, and there are only 2 boxes left.Uh oh! I turned to R to ask him if he'd eat any of the mochi donuts. I definitely wanted some, but I'd have to buy the whole box and didn't want to eat them all. As we were discussing this dilemma (lol), a couple came to the booth and asked one of the employees how much the mochi donuts cost. "$15 for 6 in a box." Before the couple could decide, I said loudly, "I'll take a box!" Soon after, another customer walked up and said that he wanted a couple of boxes, but was told there was only one left, so he bought the last box. Right after I completed my purchase and had the box in my hand, more customers came by. By this time, the employees were breaking down the mochi donut display and started putting everything else away. The employees said, "Sorry, we just sold out." I whispered loudly, "I'll sell you this box for $20." Lol. I was just kidding, though. Kind of.R and I later sampled the mochi donuts, each of us eating half of each donut, since they were very easy to tear apart. We were done "sampling" within minutes when we realized that they were gone! Gone! They went so fast because it's like eating air. I loved them because the texture was consistent, which was a light crunch on the outside, with a perfect slight chew on the inside. The flavors were on the light side, nowhere near being overpowering, and the sweetness was just barely there. This is exactly why I loved them. Surprisingly, my favorite out of the six was the churro! Caution: These little balls can get addicting!I bought the next-to-the-last box of mochi donuts at 6:45 pm on Saturday, so come earlier if you want to buy some. You'll know whether or not if mochi donuts are available because either the employees will be there or they won't be there. If you can make it to the location in Duluth, you don't have to buy mochi donuts by the box, and you can also buy multiples of the same flavor there.
