Gary F. "This was a last minute desicion. The place we were going to had tables, but also had signs on the tables saying take out only. So we walked out and decided to see what else was in the plaza. Low and behold, there was Sunrise pita. I'd been waiting to eat here for a while. Since it was a last minute desicion, I felt a little bit rushed on what to have. It was a good thing I was looking at the shawarma because when he said shawarma to me. He might have been reading my mind. I went with the small shawarma plate, and it was an excellent choice. It came with a pita bread, and I got it with most of the options, onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, red cabbage, some kind of tomato salad, and, of course, eggplant salad. I think I could have just had a plate of eggplant by itself. They also had one pound container of hot peppers and pickles mix buy one get one, I had to have one. The peppers were not too hot, and the pickles had just enough heat to make the flavor pop. They were so good! Now, my wife she had a tuna pita combo with French fries. I had a few fries, and they were good. She ate the entire thing. She must have liked it. For lunch, it might have been a bit pricey, but it was well worth it. With a really clean restaurant, good service and great food, how can you go wrong."

Their menu selections are fairly limited but they seem to have more food than listed - for example, the waiter offered me sausage, or turkey along with my breakfast even though neither of those items are listed. Also, breakfast INCLUDING café con leche, for 2 of us, was $10!!Just go!"

I ordered the pan con bistec (which was well seasoned) with tomato, lettuce and potatoes sticks..ugh so good! It was big enough to shared with my coworker, I was actually full with my half. The service here has always been top notch, very attentive and just genuinely nice people. Overall, the food is amazing, and cooked from scratch (everything is good).I definitely recommend checking them if you're in the area, I promise you won't be disappointed and the prices are reasonable ."

Mel T. "After the beach, we were looking for Cuban sammie but everything in the area seemed like tourist traps. I don't think Cuban sandwiches should cost $15. Then, I found Cubaton via Yelp and it looked decent. So we stopped in on a Sunday at around 4. I had Pan con Lechon (slow-roasted mojo-marinated pork, mojo onion, & garlic-cilantro aioli) and Hubby had the Original Hot Honey Cubano (slow-roasted mojo-marinated pork, smoked ham, melted swiss, pickled jalapeño, mustard, & hot honey). I was expecting the pan con lechon to be dry but thankfully it wasn't. I liked the pickled onions. The sandwich could have used more aioli. The hot honey cubano was meh. I think there was just too much going on there, but we took that risk. Should have just stuck to the original. Maybe that one is better. It's not bad if you happen to be in the area, but if I was looking for a go-to Cubano shop, this wouldn't be it. P.S. Check out their bathroom. It has a fun theme."

"Fashionista enough that it fits the Miami Design District (They even have a door tall enough to accommodate the style snobs with the long noses pointed up to the sky in chic superiority as they strut to lunch or that coffee pick me up after a day of sizing up the marks, er, clients looking for a $200k kitchen with the range tip that hovers in mid air with the German brand label conspicuously visible. Ah, but I digress. This is their watering hole, and, given the grave looks I received from a couple of them lunching, I had pierced the inner sanctum. The restaurant that it attached to is for us, I guess... On to the food. The pastries, salads etc are destination even if you can't pronounce any of the French names on the street well. Drop a star for watery espresso with an odd burnt taste. The brownie bite was from scratch and authentic. The beautiful people will be in love once the district gets its shopping maul (and yes I spelled that correctly) overhaul."

The pizza was delicious, thin and crispy. I got the 4 cheese and the gyro. Everyone was super nice and they even let me sit inside with my dog which is always a win for me!! So they are pet friendly! I also tried they're passion fruit mojito (I had it Virgin) while there since it was ladies night (1/2 off cocktails) and it was delicious! They have a small parking lot on the side. It's also a great working spot. There are lots of plugs everywhere. My recommendation is to grab a booth if it is available. However the booths do fill up fast so you might have to stick to just a table.Staff was super friendly and helpful with all of my questions and requests. Delicious.El Cubanito: Patty of beef and chorizo, ham, cheese, potato sticks, pickles. The bread of the sandwich was good. It wasn't pressed down like I thought. But all the meats tasted good. Doug G. "There are a couple of Havana 1957 locations in South Beach with this particular spot being at the corner of Espanola Way and Ocean Drive. As I walking down Ocean Drive, I was trying to find a spot where I could take in the Miami vibe, while also getting a taste of some quality Cuban food. A quick search on Yelp and a happened walk-by, and I found myself at Havana 1957! I was quickly welcomed in and sat on the covered patio. While the day was not blazing, it was a typical overcast day in Miami, so hot. I am usually not an outside sitter, but given the coverage, the fans and of course he people watching, I just had to today. Waitress came by and I tossed in a Mango Mojito to start while I browsed the menu. I knew I wanted either some form of Ropa Vieja and/or an empanada as part of my meal, and to my surprise they had Ropa Vieja Empanadas! The app came with two good sized, perfectly fried empanadas that were filled with shredded beef and sided with a sweet pineapple dipping sauce. The pineapple sauce was a bit thin, so I did not capture much while eating, but the steak and sauce in the empanadas was enough. For my main I decided to go with the Shredded Crispy Chicken with white rice and black beans. The chicken was crispy from being pan fried, while still juicy from the sizing of the pieces along with being topped with sliced onions and lightly covered in a citrus onion sauce. The white rice and black beans, while simple, were pure perfection. Getting a full bite of rice, beans, chicken and onion was delish! Keeping theme with great, service was stellar as well. My waitress was kind, accommodating, friendly and attentive. Hostesses were friendly and welcoming without being obnoxious on the sidewalk. As with most places on Ocean Drive, Havana 1957 has a clear Cuban vibe that can be felt through décor, lighting, art and furniture and also heard through the speakers playing traditional Cuban music inside and out. Overall, very happy I stumbled upon Havana 1957 on my last day in Miami. Enjoyed my time and meal, and of course that mango mojito!"
