Shaira A. "This place was amazing! Food, service, and ambiance were great. Definitely a semi-casual semi formal restaurant. It is quite small and seating arrangements could feel a bit compact. We were greeted by a lady who only spoke Spanish the entire time we were there. Good thing my husband and I could understand a tad lol My husband and I sat outside or they refer it to as the "garden". It is literally situated infront of the restaurant with plants and tables and the artificial green grass wall with a Tv/screen/monitor for the aesthetic. Our server Lester came around and Enzo warmly welcomed us. Definitely would love to come back here again. The only thing is I was kind of sad and disappointed about was when they didn't give us our left over pizza. We asked them to have it boxed but it never came back to us. I don't know if they didn't hear us correctly or what but yeah. That was a bummer. Food: we got calamari as a starter, and for the entrees, I got the Special Carbonara Truffle and my husband had the pizza carbonara. Both entrees had a "show" and it was fun! All the food we had tasted amazing! I didn't even need to add salt & pepper and Honestly, the prize is reasonable!"

Sergio F. "A good friend invited me here for dinner the other day when I needed some major cheering up. Despite North Beach being a usual haunt, this neighborhood Italian spot is truly a hidden gem. We had to drive around like 3 times to finally locate it. Thankfully, an employee came outside and pointed out their parking.I am dinging a half star because some wines were not available (ie my usual moscato). The vibe inside is an Argentinian / Italian music with most of the music consisting of Spanish ballads. As it were, there was a singer who came by later in the night with covers as well as an original song.Though I'm a hard core meat eater, my main dish was actually veggie centric. That's right, I enjoyed their "spaghetti a la Norma allá mía manera". With noodles a little past Al dente, the eggplant dish had an excellent smoky flavor and didn't skimp on the fresh tomatoes or burrata. The meat lasagna my friend ordered was just as delicious but it was good to branch out. I would however try the lasagna on any subsequent trip.Don't worry I didn't go vegetarian, for my appetizer consisted of their meatball dish . This dish consisted of three pairs of meatballs with different seasoning: four cheese, pesto and classic marinara. The last two types were my favorite. For dessert, we shared a yummy fluffy tiramisu with the perfect blend of coffee flavor, creamy filling and a generous sprinkle of cinnamon.Still and all this was a nice and cozy spot for a nice dinner on North Beach; I'd love to come back and try a few other dishes including the cheese wheel pasta."

You deserve a REAL cocktail, and Mercato has some really special offerings for $7 each. There are also some truly tasty appetizers in the "are you kidding me right now" category, from a mushroom dish I had (yes!) to some killer bruschetta. You can skim the menu, and find some medium-sized apps for a decent price if you want to sample some pf the bigger flavors. The eggplant parm app fit this bill for me. I went twice and was not disappointed.*Note from my companion-best espresso martini, and only place we found with one on the HH menu."

Those are the fun evenings where people here my legend of the Miami Lakes Cowfield, we nametag the newbie and in general have an awesome time. However, it was interrupted by a thing that shall not be named. However, we have an awesome CM and great south Florida business community that sent me an Elite Perk, almost a solo Elite event for Happy Hour and I had the chance to enjoy the week at least for a couple of hours.Tucked away and up a cool spiral staircase from the SLS Brickell lobby, SAAM lounge has a very sultry and rich vibe with comfy leather couches, live jazz and a romantic nook or two. My waitress showed me the Happy Hour menu for my complimentary cocktails and recommended their "Herby Old Fashioned". Infused with CBD, the smooth blend of TimCup Whiskey, Rosemary and Angostrura this was the perfect way to unwind from the news and the week in general.Being affiliated with Fi'lia, the bar bites menu was Italian (my favorite type but you knew that!) Juicy meatballs, a Diavola marinara sauce and creamy mozzarella - as well as fried mozzarella balls - were my favorite.Being Friday, I could definitely use another drink and went for their mango rum. However, I was informed they were out of mango...but not rum. My waitress saved me with a couple of rum cocktails mixed with fresh muddled berries, guava syrup and a lime (for Vitamin C :)"

Ah, but I digress. This is their watering hole, and, given the grave looks I received from a couple of them lunching, I had pierced the inner sanctum. The restaurant that it attached to is for us, I guess... On to the food. The pastries, salads etc are destination even if you can't pronounce any of the French names on the street well. Located right on Biscayne Boulevard and just past 79th Street, this little bistro was a cozy spot for Italian dining. They have a mix of both inside dining as well as a covered terrace. We initially sat there, but were able to be moved to the inside area (with better AC).Our group started with their meatball appetizer. Although they originally come plain they are served in a bowl of a deliciously robust marinara that can be served to anyone's liking (I am a sauce hog). I can say they were tasty even without the sauce. Our second app was their creamy burrata ball with fresh tomatoes and a tableside service of their plum tomato granita.Although their menu favors seafood dishes (and why I'm keeping off one star) I was able to find an aromatic and delicious Fig Ravioli with a warm gorgonzola sauce & crispy Prosciutto. The portion was generously sized for leftovers the next day. I also made sure to leave some space for their jiggly and berry-covered panna cotta. My friends ordered a tiramisu that was as tasty as it was beautifully presented tableside."

We both ordered the 3 course meals per person and decided to share:Complimentary garlic rolls were good! The garlic flavor was decently strong. I liked them best when moist--one roll was more dry than the other.Appetizers: - House salad - lettuce, red cabbage and tomatoes with lemony vinaigrette. Pretty good and nice healthy start before diving into the carbs. 4/5- Tomato caprese - the tomato and cheese was okay, but not as fresh as I was expecting. 3/5Entrees:- Fiocchi alla Gorgonzola gon funghi - anyone who loves sweetness to their savory foods should get this. The cute purse-shaped pasta are filled with pear and ricotta, with a creamy cheese sauce that I could also just eat by itself. 5/5- Penne alla vodka con salmone - compared to the fiocchi, it was a balanced pasta that's less heavy with protein and a little bit of veggies. I appreciate that the salmon wasn't overcooked. 4.5/5Dessert:- Panna cotta: I loved the vanilla flavor, and there's berry sauce as well. Solid choice 4.5/5- Pistachio gelato: I can see why other yelp reviews saw this is the best--it's densely filled with pistachios--definitely our favorite. 5/5Arianna was our server and she was super nice and attentive, frequently checking in, and she made a great recommendation for the house salad. Ambience was nice with plenty of comfortable seating and natural lighting. Parking spaces in front are free but limited as there is only one row of spaces in front for the whole strip, allowing 2-3 spaces in front of each business.Overall the food was great (solid entree and dessert options) with especially good value during Miami spice. It took a surprisingly long while for them to take our food orders, especially when we were told when we'd first arrived that we needed to free up that booth for the next patrons to be seated. We started with an order of grilled octopus to share, and for our main courses 2 of us got the pasta bolognese, one got the honey roasted salmon, and one got the pasta with clams. Everyone was happy with their meals and the service staff were outgoing and friendly, including the gentleman who served our wine and took a few moments to chat with us. I mean, I may be just a chartered engineer but this is certainly a place to celebrate a business deal, a high class date or when you need to unwind and treat yourself as a connoisseur of Italian food.As you sit in the dimly lit dining room, with a prep station within view, start by enjoying the plating of various amuse bouche - pecorino from cheese wheel, spicy salami, bruschetta and a variety of breads. Speaking of complimentary, there was also a snifter of aromatic and warm grappa at the end.My "usual" caprese salad was anything but, starting with the tableside garnishing of the creamy mozzarella slices, fresh basil & beefsteak tomato slices with balsamic vinegar and fresh black pepper for a deliciously spicy taste not expected from a salad. Despite being a high end restaurant, the chicken parm - garnished to look like a pizza - was generous enough for lunch tomorrow. Besides portion size, there was a good balance of marinara sauce and melted cheese. The additional side of fettucine marinara was perfect in texture and richness of sauce. There wasn't a dessert menu per se, but don't panic! Since desserts are homemade, my waiter Ciro described and I enjoyed their Berries Sabayon - yummy mascarpone, marsala wine and fresh berries. A single espresso closed off my night.Side notes and logistics:1. They're located in the Acqualina Resort, adjacent to a Japanese restaurant I want to try.2. Standard valet parking is $25, $10 with validation. Or you can spend some more "cake" and have your car parked out front for $40.3. I was able to secure a walk-in table in casual wear on a Sunday afternoon. I imagine Saturday evenings require more detail and planning.4. They have both inside dining and a terrace. Rebecca H. "After seeing Macchalina on most of the "places you have to eat in Miami" lists, I knew it would be a good place to take GF during her birthday trip. I was very aggressive in making every dinner reservation for 7pm, seemingly under the impression that we aren't old and grandmas now. They don't allow you make a chance on the Resy app, the platform they use for reservations, so I, literally, as a millennial, had to CALL and SPEAK TO A PERSON. It was actually pretty painless. It would be no problem to change our reservation to 6pm. Phew. It was a short drive from our South Beach hotel. I was debating between indoors and outdoors when I was making the reservation but I'm glad I chose indoors. The outdoor eating area is really cute, I love what they did with the decor, but they use these massive fans to keep air circulating. This is probably entirely necessary given the heat but I don't know if I would want my food blowing all over the place. Both servers who waited on our table were super friendly and helpful. As a pescetarian, she really wanted to sample the seafood. I really wanted to do the tasting menu but as a vegetarian, this would mean she wouldn't be able to wrap her lips around that oceany shit. After a lot of deliberation, we discussed our concerns with the waiter and asked if we could get a majority of vegetarian dishes with maybe a dish or two of seafood and, to our relief, he reassured us that this shouldn't be a problem. Like most other places we patronized in Miami, their drink menu has many intriguing options. I love how they include the ABV as it provides helpful info I never knew I needed. Even though I don't like martinis, I can definitely appreciate the option they provide to order a mini version or a normal-sized version. Anyways, I ordered a "what's your spaghetti policy" with whiskey, banana, crème de cacao, peychaud's, and absinthe. What on earth? So much depth I almost couldn't take it. It was on the stronger side, almost too strong for my juvenile palate. GF, with a more mature palate, ordered one of the martinis. She "thought it was good". Our first course started with a salad that was DIVINE. I love that dressing and the combo of textures. I ate pretty much all of it as one of our other appetizers was polenta with mushrooms. A vegetarian who doesn't like mushrooms crosses a shame boundary for me and I never mention it. Fortunately, GF loves the stuff and gobbled up the mushrooms for me. The mushroom-less polenta spoonfuls I was able to procure were DELICIOUS and so flavorful. Finally, we were served the burrata toast with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Again, a really wonderful and tasty dish. The second course brought us three pasta dishes: spaghetti marinara (DIVINE), fettuccine in a cream sauce with mushrooms (ugh), and a gnocchi-type shape with sage, parmesan and I'm sure some other shit but things were starting to get hazy with that cocktail. Everything was spectacular. The pasta was al dente to perfection with a wonderful texture, I would hazard to guess homemade and if not what is that brand? The flavors of the sauces were unreal, every single one of them. I want to buy it by the pound. Do they gold belly? Finally, and GF held off a little bit up until this point expecting to eat most of what was presumed to be a seafood entree, we were served the main. It was a cauliflower steak. GF was SO disappointed. The only reason we went with the tasting menu was because we were under the impression we could get seafood as well. It must have been a miscommunication but was extremely disappointing. Especially, as GF remarks, the price was the same for a bunch of veggies as who knows what fantastic and luxurious shit they serve the carnivores. Dessert was mini tiramisu jars and again, as you probably expect, was amazing. The food rivals some of the best pasta I've had in memory and everything was exceptional. The service was also top notch. The disappointment/misunderstanding about the dietary restrictions was disappointing and did put a damper on the evening but I can't help but recommend the shit out of this restaurant."

Picture a serving of Al dente pasta with both marinara sauce and fresh tomatoes and a well seasoned chicken breast occupying major plate real estate. The aforementioned chicken breast has a light spread of cheese but heavy on the marinara how I love. Add a dash of red pepper flakes and you'll enjoy a filling and rich platter.
