I was craving a crunchy California roll (cause I'm basic) and it actually is really hard to find! I found a crunchy Cali roll on Saketini's menu and bf ordered a Hungry roll (Avo, cream cheese, tuna). We split beef yakisoba. Our to go order was ready within 10-15 minutes!The crunchy Cali roll was okay. It wasn't as "crunchy" as I'd have preferred. The hungry roll was decent as well. They didn't seem particularly fresh. The beef yakisoba was the best item of the three, and had decent wok hay flavor. Overall Saketini was okay. Daruma is located in the same parking lot and is significantly better!"

"Went Friday night for some sushi. We haven't been to Masa in a year we were in the neighborhood and decided to go. We did change it up we usually got sushi rolls, but this time we tried a combo meal. It was perfect! My wife can't eat a lot of rice and that makes her question whenever I want sushi. She's afraid it will be too much rice. These two items have rice but at a much better ratio. So it was a perfect dinner. The service is very good with the exception of the periodic dish being placed into the bus cart. Good is always great and we were glad to see that it's staying great! A wonderful family spot or individual."

"It was a very reasonable price for a lot of food. I got the teriyaki lunch plate with salad and gyoza. It also came with a complimentary refillable drink. I tried the Apple cinnamon tea, and boy, that was a mistake I was expecting something sweeter. It was refreshing on a hot day, but not something I like. The teriyaki chicken was so juicy, and I loved it so much! The man at the front who took my order was accommodating and friendly. He was very polite as well. Thank you. Well back in the area for a while and wanted to see what kind of places people were recommending in the area.Ive been to Japan lived there, been all over asian. I'll tell you this, it is NOT japanese food at all. They may have 1 or 2 items (yakisoba) that you may find in Japan or Japanese restaurants but these are more American style "asian" fast food more toward Chinese style.Got a combo C to try a few things at this sitting. House chicken is basically chopped up grilled chicken in a "chop suey" style stir fry with cabbage slivers of cabbage mushroom and broccoli. Tossed in a heavy soy type sauce. Imo was very salty and didn't finish it. I do not like wasting food and try to take things home etc but actually left the rest behind.2nd item in the combo is Kaum Poong Kee. I've never heard of this dish before so really wanted to try this. Thick heavy tempura style batter chicken tossed in a sweet slightly spicy soy sauce. It was very heavy and the sauce was too much for me. I left a few pieces behind as well. Was super crunchy and freshly fried however. Overall was just too much salt for me. Maybe a simple teri chicken bowl would be better options here.If this is what you been going to for years more power to you and thank you for supporting small businesses but not for me sorry."

"Some of the best sushi I have had in a while. I can taste that the fish is fresh and the pieces are so big! I have never seen such gigantic pieces. The tuna didn't taste fishy at all. Sometimes at other places the tuna tastes a little strange to me. The salmon was delicious and I loved the chunks of meat they put on top. I thought the presentation was also quite spectacular. I would definitely go back. The parking is easy and there is a huge lot. I like that the parking lot is quite quiet. There aren't lots of cars speeding around and there are lots of open spaces. The only downside is that it is a little pricey as the meat is so fresh and big. If they didn't have such quality I would say that there are less expensive options including sushi ayce that's made to order as well. Otherwise the freshness and large pieces can't be beat."

I do agree that the price is semi-high for being a casual order-at-the counter-restaurant chain.Our total came out to $28.96 (pre-tax) which isn't terrible for 2 people and leftovers. But adding a sushi roll (or 2!) would have brought us to $40+ which I would rather go to a sushi restaurant.Instead we placed our order online through their website:Salmon teriyaki bowl: Starts at $11.49 with white rice. Brown rice, no rice (all veggies) and half veggie, half rice, are all an additional .99¢. I chose the latter although I wish there were an option to specify half veggie, half brown rice (maybe in the comments?). I asked for a side of spicy mayo, .50¢. This brings the total to $12.98. In the comments I asked for a side of jalapenos although I was not expecting to actually get it. I was SOOO happy to get the side of jalapenos, lol! The pan seared salmon was DELICIOUS! Nice and crisp but still moist on the inside! The spicy teriyaki glaze was a nice touch and definitely "spicy" for most (I'd compare the spice level to regular hot cheetos or a medium sauce from BWW). It was a rather small size for being $13 but I was able to portion it into 2 servings!Chicken & beef yakisoba: $9.99, comes with 2 scoops of rice which is not depicted in the picture on their website. Yakisoba is fine, lacks wok hay. Also a little scarce on veggies except for some big pieces of zucchini. The beef was a little dry. Bf enjoyed it although I'd personally skip the yakisoba. Gyoza, $5.99/8 pieces: We can never resist gyoza! So beautifully crisp, so satisfying to bite into! The soy-ginger sauce is a nice touch! The ginger flavor is definite present.Overall Yogis is a quality choice for a healthy, on the go meal!"

We got the STST and STC rolls. Both delicious but I'd choose the STC as my fave! We also got a spicy tuna roll which was perfectly spicy. Ask for fresh wasabi- amazing! For appetizers, the gyoza has a fav, and of course a salad and miso soup that comes with your entree. My kids loved their teriyaki chicken meal. My two toddlers split the adult entree and it was perfect! They also have great lunch specials. You definitely need to try this place!!"

"This Kodo just opened up and it's officially a weekly spot for us, after tonight.All the rolls are made in this purple rice that's really good. The sushi chefs are surprisingly fast. I first came to Sushi 101 as a wide-eyed freshmen at ASU and have been back plenty of times since. This is pretty much a staple place for all ASU students to go but now Sushi 101 has relocated from being right next to the ASU campus to a mile or so away. Did the relocation hinder their business? I'll let you decide.Get the ASU Roll, The Monsoon Roll, and even a Philly Roll if you love salmon with cream cheese. Get whatever you want but just get yourself down here. If you're a Sun Devil, you have to pay homage to this spot. Will it be the best sushi of your life? No. But you have to come here. Period."

The owners, Mei and Jay, are the original owners of Sushi Stop. My heart is so happy to see them again!Today is their grand opening and we got some takoyaki (six pieces for $9), pork katsu with the addition of cheese ($18 + $3), and a Las Vegas maki roll (five pieces for $8). Everything tasted delicious, as always. The curry dish is easily shareable between two people. We could have gotten just the curry and it would be perfect but you know I needed a maki roll for good measure. No regrets.Sitting in the Asian food court is Omatase Japanese Kitchen! "My wife and I were in the mood for sushi. We wanted to try something new. I suggested Kawaii Asian Cuisine in Peoria for lunch. Family owned and operated the the staff was friendly and welcoming. I liked the decor they have a nice menu which is reasonable priced. We both had the sushi lunch, which includes a choice of soup or salad. The sushi was fresh and flavorful they were also working on their fall menu, and the chef gave us a sample to try. I wasn't able to use my Groupon falling victim to the fine print, which was not valid for Happy Hour or lunch specials, which I usually hate, but the sushi was delicious and worth another trip to use the Groupon correctly. Please support them and all our local businesses."

Not really AYCE when you run out quickly and things are missing. We will see if this is a trend or a one off.They also replaced the real Sriracha with "Chili Boy." It is not the same as the real Sriracha, its pretty bland. You may want to bring your own."

He responded in a friendly, inviting way.For those of you that read my reviews, you know I'm a hard judge when it comes to Japanese cuisine. For me, I wait until I visit California, New York, Vancouver B.C. and Japan for grand Japanese food. As for the greater Phoenix area, I think the choices are limited for us but there are a few places I'd frequent again. Cherry Blossom Noodle Cafe, Hana Japanese Eatery and now Tabe Mono. I like the food at Tabe Mono! It's true that Tabe can't compare authentic tastes to Cherry Blossom or Hana but Tabe does execute sushi rolls and tempura well! Their salmon skin roll ($4.95 on Happy Hour ) rice to filling balance was perfect. The nori was NOT chewy like the last restaurant we dined out at. Their Las Vegas roll ($8.95 Happy Hour) was delicious. So good we ordered two! The flash frying of the batter was done just right and was served with the ideal amount of eel sauce. (Not over saturated.) I also like their vegetable tempura. ($4.95 Happy Hour) It was refreshing to enjoy a light, crispy batter on the vegetables- similar to what my mom would cook. Service was attentive and polite. The other diners looked happy and a few of the regulars strolled in with their kids. This created a positive ambiance. I sipped the last of my sake as we were getting ready to leave and thought, I'd definitely return!"

He said it was missing something and they were dry but I personally though they were fine. Maybe I prefer more bland stuff because I always say less is more. We ordered a variety; a bowl for my son and some sushi for me and the hubs. The order was ready in ten minutes or less and the bowl was still warm when we got home. We immediately devoured the contents and were pleased with the portions and freshness.We had a good experience and the staff was friendly and helpful towards us. It's unfortunate that many Yelpers had a bad experience. The food wasn't the most amazing thing we've ever eaten, but we will definitely consider Yogi's Grill again when looking for a somewhat healthy and fast meal."
