"We came around lunch time, it took about 20 minutes for our chicken pieces to come out. The chicken was oily but flavorful. The quarter breast was decent size."
"Found this place on our way from the airport and not disappointed. The host was not the most welcoming, but I think it's just her personality.lol once seated the server was very prompt and helpful. She gave us time, offered suggestions and patient. We had 2 entrees and an appetizer. The buffalo shrimp had just the right kick and kind of a lemon peppery taste. They were served with fries as well. We left a happy plate for sure. Both entrees were good catfish had a good taste and fried perfectly. The Po Boy didn't stand a chance either. Unfortunately, the sides weren't all that, but wasn't bad either. I added a little more seasoning to the Mac n cheese and the texture wasn't too fresh. Okra was decent as well. We'd definitely go back and try other menu items. Overall nice spot and great fell. They have an outside area too, what was a plus. Stop by if you're looking for a little seafood comfort."

"Best food in Memphis!FOOD: I got the fried chicken, mac and cheese, turnip greens, corn bread and candied yams. Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection. Good classic soul food flavor. The texture and flavor on the fried chicken was especially perfect. I also had the VIP sweet tea lemonade...it was soooo good!! Best sweet tea I have ever had! SERVICE: Everyone was sweet. You could feel the southern hospitality. AMBIANCE: It was such a treat to eat in this historic restaurant. The decor is classic. Nothing fancy but clean and a lot of character. Overall, would I come back? Yes and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Memphis!"
"The server:Boss Lady Pat was soooo nice, warm, and welcoming. The menu is super simple and the staff are happy to give recommendations and advice The food comes out fresh hot and with a smileI loved everything about coming here. The restaurant is clean, bright and a great place for groups."
"I really enjoyed our experience. The food was fresh and tasty. We had fried catfish, Caesar salad, and a Cuban sandwich. The fried okra and collard greens were superb. And our waitress was so super helpful."
"Excellent place ... local place with that excellent "neighborhood pub" feel. There's a waitress there named Josie (from the motherland) who really gives the place the "right feel" if she is your waitress. Good menu choices and reasonable prices. Good atmosphere - no loud music ..."
"Very good country/sould food. Lima beans were delicious as was the chopped steak! Staff was nice."
"Really sweet girl working the counter. It's a very Mississippi experience. I recommend everyone have one of those at least once in their lifetime."
"New to Uber eats!Did not dine in.I've ordered from here twice now! They pay great attention to the notes on my order and most importantly the food is GOOD!"
"A very odd tourist trappy kind of place. It looked really old and outdated. It's mostly just a gift shop. I did buy a cool mug, though."
"I love this place for a quick pick up and go. They have a hot bar kind of like cafeteria style and their menu changes daily. Today they had Turkey legs and dressing but I went for the baked chicken. On fridays they have catfish and that is pretty good as well. Whenever, you're in the mood for some soul food swing by and grab you a plate. Their cornbread is the best! The wait isn't that long but they are pretty busy during lunch. They are quick and prompt though. I've enjoyed both meals that I have had here and would recommend to anyone."
"This place is straight fire!!!! The lady at the hotel recommended we check this place out and I'm glad we did. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and we will definitely be back again. Oh yeah and make sure you get the ribs"

Arrived in Nashville and this was the first place we went to.Plenty of parkingOrdered a mild 3 chicken wing platter, with baked beans, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and a mango iced tea. They gave us a number and someone brought out our food. The chicken was PIPING HOT, however; they claim that the mild was hot, it was not.The Mac and cheese was good, it's a more liquidy sauce. The baked beans and potato salad were both sweet, especially the beans. (Like a pound of brown sugar type of sweet)$25 total.

This place is pretty darn good. And the food and service was fast!- Catfish: Good coating and clean tasting catfish. - Cajun cabbage: this dish was fantastic. A red wine vinegar, sausage and peppers...cooked down with the cabbage...darn good and wanted more. - White beans: not full flavored beans...but good and a nice side.

A must stop in Memphis Tn. Family owned and ran! We ordered 3 whole wings with 2 sides meal Mac and Cheese and turnip greens. The fried chicken is the best in the city if you ask meThere is plenty of seating however during peak times there maybe a wait. Parking is on the side and the back of the building. Be prepared to feel like you're at home with family, the space is filled with historical photos of the best and memorable parts of Memphis. There are two lines when you enter one for take out and one for dine in.

Wow! My northeastern taste buds were not ready! Alcenia's has really southern cooking. The fried chicken was delicious, and the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were gone before I could even think about it. The best part is the warm restaurant and the waitress greeting everyone with a smile. I got a kiss on the head when I sat down, and when I left I was told "you're part of the family". This is the best meal I had in Memphis!

It's a fun experience! The portions are large. I liked the selection of sides. I didn't enjoy the dirty walls and old photos that have smudges on the glass! It looked unkempt.

This was our first Memphis food experience, and throughout our trip one of the best. All the food was flavorful and well seasoned. We ordered a lot and the whole order was correct, and the staff was SO NICE and accommodating with our order for 6. Would highly recommend! FYI though their address has changed. It's 944 crump now (or something close to that!)

"I've never heard of Silver Sands despite the popularity for decades but after mentioning that I'm a big-time lover of country cooking, my coworker said I should go with him. I finally gave in and told him I'd try it. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner.Silver Sands isn't exactly where I would go for a meal. I guess you could say I'm never really in that part of town and even if I was, I would have overlooked it. It is a hole-in-the-wall and I'm ashamed because I know just as well as any foodie that hole-in-the-wall establishments have some of the best food. They were serving oxtails the day I went and I *LOVE* oxtails. Silver Sands has a wide variety of foods they serve plus daily specials. I came really close to wanting to try the pork chops or fried chicken but the fact that I haven't had oxtails since I went to a Jamaican restaurant in Lavergne made me choose what I came for. I got the mac & cheese (supposedly legendary) and the turnip greens. I was asked when ordering if I wanted a flat(?) or a hot water. I had no clue what she was talking about, so I just said a flat. What it ended up being is this round cornbread-type cake. I don't know why it's called what it's called and I'm quite curious what a "hot water" tastes like.Anyway, the oxtails were AMAZING. You get a small and large oxtail and a large spoonful of the gravy (I think it's more like a stew). I dipped my flat cornbread in it until it was gone and then I ate all of it with a spoon. The oxtail was meaty and rich, and the gravy was the perfect blend of savory and salty. The mac and cheese was creamy and had a nice tang to it (I read while waiting it had Velveeta cheese in it). Say what you will about American cheese, sometimes it's the best cheese in certain dishes. The turnip greens were fantastic, not at all bitter and I didn't even need pepper vinegar (a condiment I usually pair with it).Silver Sands is awesome and I'm sad I haven't been there sooner. It is a bit pricey (oxtails is one of the most expensive) but I want to go back and try their other stuff too."
"7.30 was my very 1st time here. I had heard about it from acquaintances. I personally don't prefer to cook on Fridays or Saturdays so I decided to give them a try. It was good. I am picky about my soul food being from Memphis. I had the Fried chicken, cabbage and Mac n cheese. I got my husband the ribs, cabbage and Mac and cheese. He was at work so I took him his food and told him to let me know how it was. The plate was gone within 5 minutes of me dropping it off. Will definitely keep them in my food arsenal."
"Do yourself a favor and go to QC Kitchen if you are downtown. This places offers the best soul food in town. It's a no fluff spot that just has great food. It's located in a small food hall. You can just walk up to the counter and order. Or you can do what I did and order through UberEats and just pick up. While staying at The Joseph nearby I walked my ass over to QC to pickup my pork chop order. Most of the meats comes with two sides. I got their yams and green beans. The two pieces of fried pork chop was amazing. It was perfectly fried and deliciously flavored. The green beans and yams were also really good. I was really happy with my meal and was totally satisfied. The portion was pretty large. I paid a total of $27 for my pork chop with two sides. They also had chicken, salmon, shrimp, turkey leg, and lamb. The inside of this place is very causal. There are some tables and chairs that they share communally with the restaurants next door."
"Such a friendly staff! Food is very good. Plenty of options. (From main course to side items cold and hot) You can order full cakes and pies as well. Cafeteria style dining. Very hometown feel to it. Would definitely recommend. Prices are more than reasonable."
"Service was easy breezy ! Caught a little news on tv . The food was hot , fresh and tasty . The servers wear gloves . The cashier was pleasant during check out . Looking for some good comfort food I highly recommend this establishment ."
"This place looked pretty grungy but I felt like that was part of the look. It's cafeteria style service. I got the 3 sides - greens, candied yams and greens. I wasn't blown away by the sides. I tried my friends catfish which was really good but other than that, not impressed."
"I decided to spend my birthday weekend in Memphis as a gift to me. I am a 50-plus woman, so of course I want Brunch with Mimosas! My friend and I searched for locations near our hotel, and Fabulous Flavors was 6th down. But we read the reviews! Baby, the reviews!! 5 stars across the board! We are Brunch women, so of course we had to try this out. Fabulous Flavors and Friends truly did not disappoint and does not owe me anything!!! Ms. Precious, her husband Mr Louie, and our cute little server Princeton earn every star!!! I order the Birds Cajun Shrimp with Grits with a side of Hashbrowns. My friend ordered the Honey Hot 3 Whole Wings and Honey Butter Waffle. But first we had to get Mimosas. I ordered the White Peach Mimosa, and my friend ordered the mango. It came in a go-to bag and woo, it was amazing!!! When we got our food, we both said, "Whoa!!! It was spectacular!!! My shrimp and grits were loaded with shrimp; in fact, there were shrimp that had buried itself deep in my grits! Ms. Precious added her "fabulous flavor" and added spinach, onions, and broccoli. The hash brown was very seasoned. My friend waffle was huge. It took up the whole plate . Her chicken were red, which means it was nice, hot, and cooked to the bone! We tried each other food and said mmm! My only complaint is that my fork was too small for my plate. I needed a spoon! We came in as strangers and left as family! It was like being in Big Mama's kitchen on Thanksgiving! I am still full! Next time, I'm in Memphis, I'm coming to Fabulous Flavors! Food cook with love!"
"A perfect place for takeout soul food! While you can eat at the outdoor tables or limited indoor seating, it's best suited for a quick takeaway. The line can get a little long, but the staff is friendly and does their best. The bonus is a lot of food (especially fish) is cooked fresh. There are at least 10 sides to choose from. I enjoyed the dressing, tastes homemade, and the whiting was perfectly seasoned and fried. Numerous desserts and beverages are available also. I would return for a soul food meal."
"No words can describe the wonderful hospitality Talbert and fam provide.enough said make a reservation and come by and enjoy the food and people and atmosphere:)"
"This place is ok, nothing special, but decent food. I arrived at 4 p.m. on a Sunday and was glad to see it still open. Sundays in Mississippi are rather slow -- even the dogs take the day off. But I digress. I was immediately confused when I entered. There was a cash register at the door, so I asked if I should wait to be seated. They said sit anywhere, then pointed me to a short serving table fronting a small kitchen and told me to go place my order. Lids covered all the food, so I couldn't tell what was available. A smeared white board had foods listed, but every item I chose wasn't available. In frustration, I finally asked if they had fried chicken (which wasn't on the board). Then I began playing musical chairs with my side orders. They didn't have okra or macaroni, so I asked for yams and corn. The server sullenly plopped my chicken on the plate with green beans and yams. I didn't complain about the wrong order. As I was doing this, a waitress came and wanted to know where I was sitting and what I wanted to drink. Silverware was wrapped in a pan at the end of the counter, but when I took my plate and reached into the pan, the server informed me that it was already at my table. I apologized and asked if I could have banana pudding for dessert, and the server told me to ask my waitress. OK, so I made it through the confusing gauntlet of half buffet, half table service, half cafeteria style. The food was just ok. Nothing special. Regular comfort food fare. It wasn't particularly seasoned and was lukewarm. The chicken was ok. Crispy but dry. The yams were quite good. The green beans were canned and were cold. The banana pudding was a sickly, nuclear mustard yellow color. I love the stuff, but I was afraid to eat this. I dipped my spoon in anyway, and it tasted ok, but I couldn't move past the color, so I only ate a few spoons. Since I had a waitress bringing food, I gave her my credit card and she disappeared. When she returned, I saw that she had rang it up without a tip. I told her I wanted to tip her and she said she had to ring it up assuming I wasn't leaving a tip since I didn't pay at the register. I apologized and gave the girl a $10 (on a $10 meal), and she simply took it and walked away. No thanks. No come again. No inquiry of how my food was. Nothing. I may have caught them on an off night, but I doubt I will try them again. The food wasn't special enough to deal with the service, and I felt very uncomfortable and out of place."
"Clean and cozy. Offer in discounts to FedEx employees.Always hot and good. Can be crowded so go early or after 1"
"Tried this place for first time with my husband. I had catfish with mc and cheese & yams. Omg i definitely going back! But only reason why i took one star out is becauseThey have so many things they dont have likeIn the menu it says bottle water. I asked for waterThey say they dont have it. I had catfish so i asked for tartar sauce and they said they dont have it. Lol"
"I was expecting one piece of catfish. Imagine my surprise when this plate arrived at my table. I was not disappointed. This was the best catfish I have eaten since having my great aunt Nell's catfish years ago! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. I recommend this place and I will be back."
"Fast service. It was clean. Looked for chicken gizzards everywhere and they had them and they were pretty good. I just happened to see it because it's tucked away by a dentist's office."
"I give this one 5 stars without hesitation. The portions were just right. Two hamburger steaks instead of just one. I could instantly tell the gravy was made from the meat and that no part of it came from a box or a bag. One bite in that beef and I knew it was cooked in an iron skillet. You just can't get that flavor any other way. The mashed potatoes were homemade. The tea was awesome. If I had one thing to complain about, it would be that the roll came straight out of the bag. I got over it. This meal hit the spot! Nothing like the last place that was here."
"I think this place has a lot of potential. I love the combination of Caribbean and Soul Food. There isn't much seating, so if you want to go with a group, I suggest making sure that you either drive one car (because there is not much parking) and get there once they open. I look forward to going back!"
"I had been seeing this place and people talk about their smoked turkey ribs. So I finally got around to the area to try them out. The owner was super friendly and helpful. He even gave me a tour of their space, showed me how all the meat is smoked separately to avoid cross contamination, and told me about upcoming events. They have an eat-in area but also do to-go orders. I ordered a Turkey rib sandwich, a catfish po-boy (Rich Girl), and a piece of pound cake. I heard another customer asked about the broccoli cheese cornbread after I had already placed my order. I then decided I wanted to try it to (since my family has made this for years and I've never heard anyone else making it). The customer ended up just adding me a piece to their order and paying for it. So nice of them! That Turkey rib sandwich was awesome. I almost went right back to get another one. The cornbread was also really good and moist (mine has more cheese when I make it ). The catfish was also really good. Everything was excellent and I can't wait to return again. I need more of those Turkey ribs! Nice place and welcoming staff/owners. It's a family run business. My pictures aren't great but it's the best I could do at the moment."
"Smoked turkey leg: succulent, delicious. Gouda mac: yummy twist on traditional mac. Smoked cabbage: great flavor, very unique. Everything was well seasoned but not going to give you high blood pressure. Loved it!"
"I loved it. The food was good and hot. I love the family oriented business. It was pretty busy, but the food is so worth it. It is cooked hot and fresh and we all know those hole in the walls are the best of the best. No pics sorry guys. I ordered the cheeseburger combo and it came with a drink. It was under $8."
"Honestly, the best fried chicken I have ever had was here. I was visiting a friend in the Delta and she swore that the best fried chicken was at the Double Quick. We went there on my first night and it was pretty good, but we came here for lunch the next day and this chicken was far superior. And I mean really. Plus, so many more options! I got a couple of fried drumsticks, a sausage, collard greens, mac and cheese, cornbread, fried okra, banana pudding, and the sweetest sweet tea you ever did taste. And I loved every bite! This place is southern home-cookin' at its finest and the people who work here are so friendly and hospitable.Definitely would recommend and whenever I am back in Belzoni, this is where I will be heading first!"
"I know all the stories, I've been to all of them- Prince's, Bolton's, all the way to the newer ones like Party Fowl. I like them all, the reviews are legit. But believe me when I tell you this is the best of them all. I would be willing to say it's the best fried chicken in all of Nashville. The sides I had,(You can't see the cole slaw and potato salad) were OUTSTANDING and all homemade. I will also say I've never had a better burger, anywhere. I can't recommend this place enough, but BE CAREFUL when ordering spice level. When it says hot, they are not lying! Be conservative because their final 2 levels are BLAZING! Go see these kind folks and you'll see what I mean."
"Miss Jennifer knows how to treat customers- like family. We ordered a good bit of food, sat down at the dining court, and waited. In no time, Miss Jenn came out and started outright spoiling us. She's the sweetest thing known to man, she started tellin' us all about the story of how she came up with the name of her restaurant, and got us some extra banana pudding to go with our meals. The food was astounding, like heaven in a styrofoam box. I'm not religious but I saw God, in all honesty. The baked spaghetti was astounding, the chicken and waffles were spectacular, the strawberry cake was to die for, and the chocolate shake was nothin' short of godly. If you're in Memphis, you make your way right on over to Taste a Piece of Peace. Have a meal with God, and Miss Jenn will entertain you the whole time."
