Great food, outstanding service and amazing value for the money. Went here today, yes, on Mother's Day, and it was packed but no more than usual I was told. First time here but will definitely be back. Well worth the hour wait but they take reservations (pro tip). You won't regret it.

Busy cafe- parking right out front. Came from downtown to Mel's - our second visit in many yrs. New remodeled interior is nice, kept the homey country feel. A busy, bustling place- wait staff is hopping and working hard to bring out the orders/drinks. Food was great and what I'd expect from a down home cafe. A/C was working overtime too- humid inside. Be aware you don't get into the take-out line to the right of the bldg. They had a 45-1hr. wait for a Saturday but we only had to wait 15 mins until the 2 of us were called- not bad!

Can we give Mel's 6 stars?!? Mel's isn't fine dining, but it's a great casual spot. Great value for the $$. Nice short and sweet menu with what you expect at a country cafe. My 9 year old is a picky eater, but Mel's is a place where she will eat a burger with "food touching". We are so pleased they have reopened!

Well they been open a day and ill say its even better than before!!! So very exited to have our cafe back! Everything is beautiful with new paint and its wonderful! I swear that the chicken fried steak is better than ever!! The green beans were so good that I drank the juice! Not a crumb was let of the corn bread and rolls ! Its was easy to get in and the service was exceptional as always .We left full and So happy

We were excited that Mel's was reopening after the fire. It had been one of our favorite restaurants before it burned. We went today and it was a huge disappointment. The quality of the food was not even close to what it had been prior to the fire. In our opinion, it was overpriced for what we got. We will not be going back.

With much anticipation, drove out to the country to re-visit Mel's.Do yourself a favor, CALL AHEAD -- their website is unreliable and you'll be forced to eat from the "surprise" menu, which is limited, and be prepared to fight the crowds.
