Mattie's Catfish Kitchen & More

Perhaps other folks have had better experiences with Mattie's fried fish than I did recently.The fish in my order, along with other items in the basket such as toast, fries, shrimp and hush puppies, were fried way too hard. Every item except the fries was not seasoned and was one step away from being inedible. I also received no lemon slices with my meal.The only thing that really saved this place was a family member's fish po boy, which apparently was good. I might try this place again, but with reservations.

I got the 6 shrimp 6 catfish basket and it was fire! It was seasoned good Af, only thing I don't like is the ain't have hotsauce.... That was a disappointment. But other than that A1

I just need to say that I was not expecting Mattie's to come through like they did because of the low stars, but wow! We ordered their catfish plate and loved everything! The fries and hush puppies were perfectly seasoned and catfish was fresh, juicy, buttery and just oooooo so good! We can't wait to return and next time pics will be posted.

Horrible customer service, they act as if you're bothering them. Food ok, won't be returning. Customer service is everything

I'm always down to try something new and also support a local small business and I am SOOO glad I stopped by. The guy who took our order and served us, I'm assuming the owner, literally blew me away. His catfish was so good! So impressed. He was super friendly and made everything to order. We will definitely be back for round two.

I really like this cat fish and fries basket I got at this festival! The catfish are crispy and the fries are crispy & flavorful the only thing is I wish they would have seasoned the catfish a little bit more. It was giving a more bready taste, but I still did like the flavor & the crunch.Just wish there was just a little bit more seasoning. But overall it was a good food experience! Whew, chile! I LOVE ME SOME CATFISH! But this here was next to the worst I've ever had. It didn't seem too fresh and as if it were frozen while already battered. 3 days later and that fish is still in my fridge. I do not waste good catfish. The burger was dry as hell. The end. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 since they're black owned.

I stumbled upon Mattie's catfish thanks to Houston's traffic. I will be taking this shortcut more often. The shrimp is delicious. Ken, I believe is the gentleman's name gave me a few for the road and im enjoying them as I write this review. Delicious food, great customer service. If you are looking for mouth watering shrimp and fish, Mattie's is the place. I will return soon!
