It's definitely a UNIQUE experience, starting from entrance to exit. Our host was the BEST. polite, courteous, extremely humble.A seven course prix-fixe meal for three of usStarted with.1st course - Baba ganoush , pickled vegetables - carrots & cucumbers. Extremely delicious2nd course - Then came egg, nuts, chicken sugar pie of some sort. Very unique taste3rd course - was chicken tajine- done to PERFECTION. falling off the bones and *chef's kiss*4th course - was lamb on bone- OMG delicious. It had so much fragrance. With almonds and sweet tasting sauce.5th course - couscous with lamb, potato, and raisins. By this time, we couldn't breathe. We were so stuffed.6th course - mint tea and baklava, you could taste the freshness.7th course - fresh fruit.Throughout the meal, they kept coming with fresh pita basket. Our hands were washed with rose water thrice.I'm so stuffed but already reserving for next time! For 3 people we paid 113$ including 18% gratuity.Extra 6th star for reasonable prices

Had high expectations going into it and was disappointed. Cash-only, Moroccan courses. Brought my friends here to tell the crazy story of the restaurant and personal Moroccan travel details.Best dish was the first one. Pastilla is fun if you've never had it but overall mediocre. The ending dish of fruit is literally inedible.I actually had other groups planned to take here but decided not to anymore.

The best spot in Philly! I came with my boyfriend on an intimate date but there were parties of all sizes there with us. The pre-fixe menu was amazing and the restaurant was great about asking about allergies. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting or living in Philly!

Such a unique and interesting dining experience! Firstly, the staff were incredibly accommodating, especially considering we were a large group of 30+ people. They were not only able to find us space, but they also did not skimp on food or service. Secondly, I loved that they stayed true to authentic Moroccan traditions - from the food, the decor, and even how the mint tea was served. We were even treated to a super fun belly dancing performance. The dancer was so wonderful, and even taught some of us a few moves haha. But most importantly, the food was so delicious! We were treated to a 7 course meal, which was incredibly filling and interesting. I was particularly taken with the first course - a selection of Moroccan salads - that genuinely brought me back to my best dining experience in Fez. All in all, everything was wonderful, and I so appreciate that it was such a well executed family restaurant. Would definitely recommend for folks to try!

I give Marrakesh a rating of 4.5/5*. This restaurant is an excellent choice for groups. I had a group of 10 people for my doctoral graduation celebratory dinner, and the owner Samir was incredibly accommodating. We opted for a prix fixe style meal (7-course @ $40 pp). Ambiance: As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're in an authentic Moroccan dining area. The seating arrangement and wall decor are reminiscent of a genuine cultural set-up. This is lovely. Seating includes wall-mounted benches and single person upholstered seat cushions. Something that enhanced the ambiance during our meal was the incredible belly-dancing performance as an intermission to our 7 courses. The dancer was so playful/engaged us and skilled in her craft. This was a hit with my family! Service: The service here was so excellent. All employees are incredibly kind and understanding. They do a wonderful job attending to allergies/preferences after you tell them just once. Food: The food here is pretty good, but I would say a bit underseasoned. One thing my family and I appreciated was how the 7 courses exposed us to different foods in the Moroccan cuisine. We enjoyed, for instance, the bastilla and the spicy chicken -- both were fantastic and had distinct flavors to them. On a different note, the final "course" was a part of dessert -- this included baklava and fruits. The fruits, however, came whole (unchopped!). This was a bit of a disappointment; I would suggest Marrakesh slice/chop their fruit before serving to guests. All this being said, I truly loved my experience here, and I would definitely go back! Marrakesh is a must, when in Philadelphia.

This was by far the best food I've eaten during my entire Philly trip. The restaurant has no menu and comes in courses. My favorite was the first course which was a salad type and the carrots were just DIVINE. I loved those carrots thay my friends let me eat most of it. The next course was like a pastry with pasty chicken that was sweet with some kind of raisin or fruit. It was good but not my thing. The chicken that came out was absolutely delicious. The meat easily fell off the bone and so tender. The beef kabob that comes out is my second favorite. I just love kabobs and this beef kabob was just perfectly seasoned and had perfect amount of chew. There was another dish that I personally enjoyed but my friends did. Dessert was probably the best baklava I've ever had and some fruit and a hot sweet mint tea. I highly recommend anyone coming here wanting to eat some Moroccon food. I wasn't able to get any pictures since we just ended up devouring our food. Also come in hungry because it's a large amount of food.

4 people and we couldn't finish everything. So good and so filling. THERE IS A BAR, but you can byob also. They told us they take credit cards, but their device was down at the time. Now worries, we came prepared. The chicken and lamb were so tender. The beef had a flavorful crust. That pie thing, sweet & savory, yum. Appreciate fruit at the end of a meal but the baklava, yessss!! Probably the best baklava I've had. Decor is beautiful. I may decorate one of rooms in similar fashion. Nice wine and charcuterie vibe. Staff very attentive.Great meal, will definitely return.

I highly recommend making reservations way in advance to get the time slot that you want. I called on Monday for Friday dinner and the earliest time available was 8 PM.We arrived at 8 and there were 2 other groups waiting to be seated. After about 15 minutes we were directed to go to 3rd floor. The restaurant is very small and going to the stairs were very challenging especially with my leg that had some stitches from an accident. However, the staff was super nice and holding my hands all the way up and also when going down. The ceiling on the third floor is low so tall people beware. The dining area is small and cramped. However, it didn't deter us to have a great time.It took a while for the waiter to come over probably because they were really busy. First each person was given a towel and he poured water to washed our hands. Then he brought out a big basket full of pita bread. Grab as many as you can because you need it for the whole course. Personally, I wished they provided disposable plates to put the food for each person. Spicy chicken was very mild. Very tasty especially if you dunk it in the broth.Lamb was so tender and the meat fell out of the bone.Everything was very flavorful. Baklava was a perfect ending to the feast. Do not take your time eating each course because they have timing to take it away and replace it with the next one. I heard at least six birthday songs played with Mediterranean tune. Very interesting.$40 per person before tip is definitely worth it.

We came in as a group of 4 on a weekend - I called in advance to make a reservation over the phone, and really didn't know what to expect! We loved our experience and would highly recommend trying their food at least once!Atmosphere: The restaurant itself was easy to miss and felt like a residential building. After you walk in, there are couches lined up on the first floor as part of your seating area. There is also a second floor, but we were on the first and found it to be very cozy! I loved the atmosphere, which also involved being brought towels.Food: The entire experience included several courses and huge portions! We definitely had to pace ourselves. Some of my favorite dishes was the chicken and the first cold vegetable dishes, which included marinated cucumbers and eggplant.Overall: 5/5 - We thought that the portion of food (and the taste) was a great deal for the amount we paid. We also just loved the atmosphere!
