Mama Chang

I love spontaneous restaurant trips! After grocery shopping at H-Mart, we noticed this "new" place that opened up...the quotations are there because they used to be located inside Fiesta Mart for almost 30 years! and then moved to this location. Their logo captured my attention and immediately drew me to comfort food, but clearly it was not comforting at all. Their staff were super helpful and friendly for our first time in...they explained their combo plates and special plate...and even let us sample their Mama Changs special chicken, but sadly the piece I tried was quite dry and bland. If they are going to sell their special Mama Changs chicken, you better bet it needs to own up to the hype since they recommended us to try it. We ordered a special plate for $8.50, included two entries and a as side and hubs ordered a combo t plate! PSA; the combo plates are made fresh and not served to you from the front (like mall food or Panda Express) but the special plate is where they serve you from the front of the house. Combo plate comes with an egg roll but the special plate does not...They offer different sauces to try with your food, and you're able to take it to the table with you. Silverware and such are all self serve...most if not all their food was quite bland for Chinese food, and the rice had no veggies! It was literally just rice...idk, it was just okay! It wasn't anything special...

Absolute garbage!! Panda Express or the food courts in the mall could be better options for cafes in this category.The restaurant claims to serve "homestyle Chinese food," however, I found the food to be nothing but sugar-laden nonsense.Mama Chang is not only defrauding customers with false advertising but also disrespecting the traditional homestyle Chinese cuisine.

Food is fresh and flavorful with quick service and turn around time for food. I eat here weekly and they've been slowly changing and improving their items.

This place has the best food I recommend y'all go and the service is so great the ladies there are so respectful and welcoming I love this placealways my go to place

The food was fresh and delicious, and arrived in record time via Uber Eats. The egg rolls are fat and crispy -- not greasy at all. Maybe the best Chinese takeout we've ever had. We will be ordering again from Mama Chang!

(From November, 2023)It's a mid-November Saturday night and you're craving Chinese food but don't want to drive anywhere. That's where Ubereats comes in. After searching and finding this place, the YELP photos looked enticing so I decided on the following items:Shrimp Lobster Sauce - 6/10Kung Pao Chicken - 6/10Special Combo Plate (Fried Rice/Mixed Veggies/Chicken Curry/Pepper Steak/Hunan Beef) - 7/10The Shrimp Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Chicken dishes were alright. The shrimp are kind of small and soaked in this lobster/egg sauce with veggies and a side of lo mein. Kung Pao Chicken was very salty but the spiciness was there which I prefer. The special combo plate's chicken curry and the pepper steak was very good, the best parts of the plate. Didn't care for the hunan beef as there were more veggies than beef in the dish.I'll probably order from here again but will likely do it in person at the H-Mart and likely try new dishes.

I work in the area and I had a taste for Chinese food. I have seen Mama Chang pop up while looking for restaurants to eat for lunch and today I decided to give them a try.I went around 12:17 so at the height of lunch time. Here is my review of Mama Chang:1. I went at lunch time and it was only one other person in there, but I still wanted to give them a try.2. The service was pleasant.3. I ordered the special plate with an egg roll.4. She forgot to give me my egg roll.5. I purchased the Mama Chang Chicken, basically it was orange chicken. It had flavor but not the orange flavor and it was a little dry.6. I also got the Celery Chicken, that was a bit better than the Mama Chang Chicken. It was flavored really well.7. The fried rice was not your typical fried rice, no eggs or veggies. I did not like the flavor of the fried rice even though I added the soy sauce.8. I ordered veggie spring roll but it was not put in my bag.Over all I give Mama Chang's a 4 out of 10. I was not satisfied.I am comparing this to Cafe Ginger and Tiger Noodle.

Great service and quick for take out. Food is consistently great. They also have their rice for sale, which we use at home for other recipes!

This place is a hidden gem I highly recommend this place! Food is so delicious and the staff are so friendly
