Main St Bistro

This is a great place to eat. Very friendly staff. Food is fantastic. Coconut shrimp tacos, brisket quesadillas, patty melt and the fries are true bistro style frites. Great onion rings too. Everything that comes out of the kitchen looks excellent.

The environment here was pleasantly busy. Service was adequate. I ordered a salad that was supposed to have had black beans but they were out and the server did not say anything, so when it came, I was like where are my beans? Not too many healthy options for special dietary needs but food was good if you are not concerned about that and I was able to select from side options to create my own combination of foods I can eat. My husband enjoyed his selection.

If this review is harsh, it really is not meant to be. First, lovely place, very clean and nice atmosphere. Very spacious so you are not cramped in like most restaurants. Was leaving La Fitness in League City and wanted to grab a bite to eat, so me and a friend decided to pop over to Main St. Bistro since it close by (plus the great reviews on yelp, so heck yeah!) Second, every one was friendly and on top of their game from (waitstaff, busters, and servers). They are fast, friendly, and efficient. Our waitress was lovely and had recommendations because the menu is a read (huge). And a good read at that. You want to try everything on it because it really is hitting all the highlights of what you want. Look at all the yelp pictures (except mine, I forgot I need to write a review and I was really hungry after working out the gym). This restaurant is big on presentation and it shows. Everything thing looks so appetizing and you can tell they really care about how their food presents. They hit the mark at every turn. I saw it on every table that had food put on the table including ours. Here is my gripe: when you finally get a chance to taste the food, a sea of beige just washes over you. None of the food stands out. No flavor profile comes forward. I love fried green tomatoes and crab meat but it all tastes like just that: friend green tomatoes and crab meat. No seasoning, no flavor, nothing. I have to say the same thing about the onions rings. They look good but they fell flat. The bacon wrapped shrimp: beige. The meat loaf and mash potatoes had the same consistency in texture and they tasted almost the same. I thought it was me but when I asked my friend, he said, " is this just elevated hospital cafeteria food (no disrespect)?" I was really shook because of the reviews. The pictures are definitely on point but the flavor is not there. Look it's not bad because the place was not empty. Try it, see for yourself. But everything is not for everybody. Service is great. I wanted dessert but why bother. My friend comes from a Cajun family and I come from a creole family and you have to be bold to put that as the cuisine you serve when nothing stands out flavor wise.

UPDATE: August 1, 2023 So excited for Main St. Bistro and it's new location. Food was sooo good. Just as I remembered. Ms. Leslie was there to greet and serve us for Lunch. The new location and ambiance is so nice. Much nicer here and more tables. I had the Cheeseburger Burger again and it was mouth watering. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Very good food, but slightly disappointed in the atmosphere since they moved across the street recently. It used to be very cozy and quaint in their old location, but didn't see many people. Their new restaurant seats many more, but it has lost that cozy vibe.

Truly a gem in the community! I am a bit unhappy with how long it has taken me to write something, perhaps I was hoping to keep the secret to myself. Regardless, this restaurant has THE BEST food and environment! Such a relaxing scene! You can absolutely feel the difference after dining. When it is time for you leave and have to face the world once again, its like ughhh do I really have to? lol Only this time, your outlook is more positive than ever! You will absolutely be thinking of your next trip back! Awesome Awesome Staff as well!!

My son actually said...this is the best burger I've ever had! The veggies are fresh the burger was juicy.I had the salmon adobe with corn risotto and green beans. All had amazing flavor!Great service too! Thank you

Never been to this location and don't know if I ever will. Pretty far from where I live. If I try I will pay a review ! Many good wishes to the workers who make these places work and keep patrons returning to eat and enjoy... Without them there would be nothing. If a worker has to look over their shoulder to see if they're being watched it makes for a low environment. Remember some of the best "Yelpers" are the workers of the places we visit !!! Enjoy and Respect ! On both sides of the Table !!

Dined tonight with a group of nine to celebrate my wife's birthday. They installed a new WiFi system this week, so I had to drive to the restaurant to make my reservation since the phones were down Tuesday night and Wednesday midday. No big deal since they serve my wife's favorite steak in Texas, the filet mornay caprese and I was not willing to chance not getting a reservation. As usual the meal was fantastic, we had the spinach artichoke dip to start with the best chips. Main courses were the filet, pork Marsala, and the beef and blue ribeye. I'm not a blue cheese fan, but I subbed Boursin cheese on top. Only hiccup was at the end. The waitress asked if I wanted it all on one check and I confirmed. However, we were never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee (we did) before being presented with the check. This had never happened in any of my many visits and was a poor way to end a wonderful night and celebration for my wife.

One of my favorite League City restaurants. Mile high meatloaf and marry me chicken are my go to's and they are good every time.
