Finally tried this restaurant yesterday for dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable on the inside with a beautiful bar and nice outdoor seating area. We opted for the tasting menu - four courses family style for $70 dollars. Started with a panini with a soft little bread and delicious sauce, broccolini cesar that was very good and the most delicious polenta with this delicious mushroom sauce. A must order. Then we tried three pastas - one with this delicious porcini mushroom sauce, a delicious cacio e pepe and this awesome pasta in a red sauce with a delicious beer ragu and mini meatballs. It was my favorite pasta whereas my girlfriend loved the porcini. We then shared the branzino - it was excellent in a delicious brown butter sauce with perfectly prepared sunchokes. If you can't tell, this is easily my new favorite italian restaurant. The food was absolutely exquisite. We shared the tiramisu to finish.. not my favorite but still loved the restaurant and can't wait to go back. Service was also excellent.

After seeing Macchalina on most of the "places you have to eat in Miami" lists, I knew it would be a good place to take GF during her birthday trip. I was very aggressive in making every dinner reservation for 7pm, seemingly under the impression that we aren't old and grandmas now. They don't allow you make a chance on the Resy app, the platform they use for reservations, so I, literally, as a millennial, had to CALL and SPEAK TO A PERSON. It was actually pretty painless. It would be no problem to change our reservation to 6pm. Phew. It was a short drive from our South Beach hotel. I was debating between indoors and outdoors when I was making the reservation but I'm glad I chose indoors. The outdoor eating area is really cute, I love what they did with the decor, but they use these massive fans to keep air circulating. This is probably entirely necessary given the heat but I don't know if I would want my food blowing all over the place. Both servers who waited on our table were super friendly and helpful. As a pescetarian, she really wanted to sample the seafood. I really wanted to do the tasting menu but as a vegetarian, this would mean she wouldn't be able to wrap her lips around that oceany shit. After a lot of deliberation, we discussed our concerns with the waiter and asked if we could get a majority of vegetarian dishes with maybe a dish or two of seafood and, to our relief, he reassured us that this shouldn't be a problem. Like most other places we patronized in Miami, their drink menu has many intriguing options. I love how they include the ABV as it provides helpful info I never knew I needed. Even though I don't like martinis, I can definitely appreciate the option they provide to order a mini version or a normal-sized version. Anyways, I ordered a "what's your spaghetti policy" with whiskey, banana, crème de cacao, peychaud's, and absinthe. What on earth? So much depth I almost couldn't take it. It was on the stronger side, almost too strong for my juvenile palate. GF, with a more mature palate, ordered one of the martinis. She "thought it was good". Our first course started with a salad that was DIVINE. I love that dressing and the combo of textures. I ate pretty much all of it as one of our other appetizers was polenta with mushrooms. A vegetarian who doesn't like mushrooms crosses a shame boundary for me and I never mention it. Fortunately, GF loves the stuff and gobbled up the mushrooms for me. The mushroom-less polenta spoonfuls I was able to procure were DELICIOUS and so flavorful. Finally, we were served the burrata toast with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Again, a really wonderful and tasty dish. The second course brought us three pasta dishes: spaghetti marinara (DIVINE), fettuccine in a cream sauce with mushrooms (ugh), and a gnocchi-type shape with sage, parmesan and I'm sure some other shit but things were starting to get hazy with that cocktail. Everything was spectacular. The pasta was al dente to perfection with a wonderful texture, I would hazard to guess homemade and if not what is that brand? The flavors of the sauces were unreal, every single one of them. I want to buy it by the pound. Do they gold belly? Finally, and GF held off a little bit up until this point expecting to eat most of what was presumed to be a seafood entree, we were served the main. It was a cauliflower steak. GF was SO disappointed. The only reason we went with the tasting menu was because we were under the impression we could get seafood as well. It must have been a miscommunication but was extremely disappointing. Especially, as GF remarks, the price was the same for a bunch of veggies as who knows what fantastic and luxurious shit they serve the carnivores. Dessert was mini tiramisu jars and again, as you probably expect, was amazing. The food rivals some of the best pasta I've had in memory and everything was exceptional. The service was also top notch. The disappointment/misunderstanding about the dietary restrictions was disappointing and did put a damper on the evening but I can't help but recommend the shit out of this restaurant.

Last night at Macchialina Taverna Rustica was an unforgettable experience, and I have to credit much of that to the phenomenal service we received. Our server, Lauren, was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we were seated, she brought a warmth and friendliness that instantly made us feel at home. Her personable nature and deep knowledge of the menu made her the ideal guide for our dining adventure. My guest has a gluten allergy, and I was incredibly impressed with how thoroughly Lauren and her team addressed our needs. She took the time to explain our options, ensuring that my guest felt comfortable and safe with her choices. It's this level of attention to detail that truly sets Macchialina apart from other dining experiences in Miami. The atmosphere was lively yet cozy, and the staff was clearly on their A-game. Lauren not only delivered top-notch service but also checked in frequently to ensure everything was perfect, without being obtrusive. I remember joking that our water glasses must have had pressure sensors underneath them, because the moment the last drop of water disappeared, a server would almost magically appear to refill it for us. I got a kick out of that. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro, and I can confidently say it was the best spaghetti I've ever had in Miami! The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and beautifully balanced - a true testament to the culinary talent in the kitchen.I walked away from Macchialina with a full heart and a satisfied palate, already planning my next visit. If you're in Miami and looking for delicious Italian food paired with exceptional service, do yourself a favor and visit Macchialina Taverna Rustica. Thank you, Lauren, and the entire team for a memorable evening! Can't wait to be back soon!

Great staff and delicious food. The food was as close to you'll get to going to Italy. It was fresh, homemade and simple. We sat outside because the weather was nice but they had plenty of fans for a hot day. I love the new decor and facilities. I have to come back and sit inside

First time here and I was impressed! The outdoor area was super cute and spacious- it was raining a ton so it was nice that the area was covered. Service was exceptional, everyone was very attentive and the food came out quickly. The manager Olivia is so bubbly and has a great personality. She was knowledgeable on the menu, gave us some great recommendations and came by to check on us several times. For apps we ordered the Burrata, polenta, gnocco fritto and the suppli. For our main dishes we ordered the Cavatelli pasta, cacio e Pepe and broccoli. Everything was great but all of the appetizers were outstanding. Would def go back!

Beautiful space with great outdoor/patio seating - perfect for a lovely dinner! We knew when there were many groups waiting for the restaurant to open at 6pm, we had done well to make a Resy - but also tables filled up quickly short after! We enjoyed our meal - especially the Polenta (creamy homey goodness) and the Chicken Parmesan (which tastes super fresh with the tomatoes, kind of like a bruschetta). Make sure to leave room for dessert - which looked allll so delicious but we were too full!

We went for the burger night but were told they were sold out. It's ok our server was sweet and we ended up having a great time! We had chicken parmigiana. It was yummy and love the use of real tomatoes. Our pasta was very hearty. The pappardelle bolognese made up for not having a burger. We love the old hits that were playing in the background. Cute place with good Italian food. We celebrated my birthday dessert with the banana bread pudding. It was a unique take and good!

We had a reservation but were a bit early. Upon arrival they asked if we'd want to be seated at the bar and we happily said yes. The ambience gave LA vibes, which we loved. The food was fantastic and would definitely visit again next time we're in Miami. We ordered the gnocco fritto, tortelloni, and cacio e Pepe. My cocktail was great too (Devil's in the details)!

My go to spot and the perfect complement to mass at the beach! The bartenders are so knowledgeable and can whip up so many different delicious cocktails! I like to go right when they open and you have the best service, things are peaceful and quiet and no wait! I usually go for the stracciatella cheese with prosciutto and arugula which is so delicious, marinated eggplant and generally an espresso martini! Check them out!

Macchialina was cute, quaint with a lovely intimate setting, but my experience was not as great as expected. There were 3 of us and we each ordered a pasta dish and shared the burrata appetizer. I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the food. The pasta portions were too small and lacked salt. I was definitely still hungry after finishing my meal.Overall, the ambiance was nice and the service was good, but the food was just average and lacking real flavor.
