Lone Star Charlie's Family Restaurant

We had lunch they're traveling to Fort Worth from Houston. We liked everything. It's kind of a small town diner with good food unusually good service and a nice atmosphere.

Nothing wrong here! Friendly service, food came out fresh and hot (except the biscuits - a little hard). I like a restaurant that warms syrup and they do that here! We would eat here again!

I love breakfast food all day long, this is where we come when neither one of us wants to cook. It's close to home!So far so good!

This little hole in the wall is smack off the freeway with easy parking. H & I stop here when we are lucky enough to be invited to our friends ranch up in Timpson. Lots of locals drop by for a quick cup of coffee & a lively chat before going on about their day. If you're lucky they will be there whilst you dine because they are hysterical!As everyone knows, I love a really good hamburger and this place serves up a very tasty burger. My favorite is the chili-cheese burger which is laid out in a smallish ceramic skillet served open faced & smothered in some of the best chili this side of the Mississippi. H usually opts for the breakfast platter & cleans his plate every single time we visit. Staff is friendly, food is hot & tasty. This place is definitely on our list of places to take a break on a road trip.

I had the veggie omelette with cheese, toast and home fries and it was delicious!!! The veggies in the omelette were cooked to perfection and the cheese was as I asked for it(extra), the toast was toasted and buttery and the home fries...oh my gosh they were fantastic!!! Price was very reasonable and the service was on point. Highly recommend.

Found this place as I was traveling through. So glad I stopped and gave it a try. If you're in the area do yourself a favor and give them a try. You will not be disappointed. I ordered the lunch special (chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy and collard greens). The food was piping hot! That in itself gets 5 stars. The CFS was tasty, gravy was amazing and the greens were full of deep flavor. The waitress was kind and attentive. She wasn't happy with the roll that came with my meal so she brought me a biscuit to make up for it. The biscuit was warm, soft, flaky, and buttery. If I drive through this are again I am surely stopping!!!

We planned a family vacation around Livingston lake. We visited this restaurant all 3 days during our stay. Everything we tried ( from their strawberry waffles, eggs and fried chicken breakfast with tasty sides, omelette, their chili to their pecan and apple pies) all were delicious. The restaurant's staff was very friendly and the whole ambiance was beautiful and perfect, just like the town Goodrich itself. Will definitely visit again.

Food....todays special was a hamburger. How in the world can a cafe screw up a hamburger. Well they did. Be forewarned the hamburger patties is precooked and allowed to simply sit out. The hamburgers we had today were the worst hamburgers we have ever had. The meat was so overcooked and dried out we could not eat it. It was also so very tough. Never again we will ever eat at this place. If you eat a hamburger here you may want to also take a stool softener.

If you enjoy runny eggs, mushy hash browns, cold and old patty sausages and ditto on the biscuits.... Then this place is for you! I have to say the coffee was good and the waitress was friendly and efficient. Big thumbs down.
