I finally tried this restaurant a year and a half later and the only one hurting all that time was me. What a pleasant and lovely experience I was missing out on. I dined here on a Thursday night. I was told that Wednesdays and Thursdays have a limited menu and on the weekends the menu is coursed options only. I don't normally love coursed meals, but I feel like this is the place to do it because everything we tried on that Thursday night was DELICIOUS. First off, they did such a nice job with the space. It's colorful, well lit, and inviting. The wine list also has excellent options and the waitress isn't trying to force you into the most expensive items. The wait staff are cordial and helpful and the Chef is humble and sweet in his explanation of the dishes. For wine, we got the bottle of tempranillo and it was delicious. We started with the focaccia and ricotta and honey. Honestly, it was the best honey I have ever tasted. They even told me where to buy it on my own if interested. Everything is freshly sourced from local farms and it shows. We also had the steak tartare that came with the blueberry capers. Those were a little weird for me but my friend loved them. We also had those delicious scallops that I believe were poached in wagyu fat. I don't even like scallops normally but they were exquisitely prepared. For entrees we had the boniato pasta and the cod. Both were deliciously prepared and I will definitely order again. But that boniato pasta that was sort of like a tortellini filled with boniato and topped with like a foam of citrus flavors- was easily one of the best pastas I have ever eaten in my life. The dish is creative yet light but absolutely delicious. This dish belongs on the show "best thing I ever ate". For dessert, we tried the lemon dessert that was light and airy and not overly bitter or citrusy. We also got the brownie dessert that was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted. My friend and I fought over not one- but two portions of that dessert. Can't wait to go back for the tasting menu and friendly service!

I found this by accident while visiting Gables. The first thing that caught my eye was the decor so I decided to check it out. They have a curated menu that seems to change daily/weekly? Fridays and Saturdays is a fixed-price menu with a $125 and $185 selection (lots of options so don't get scared by the price).Today I only concentrated in tasting their small dishes and their wine selection (they don't have a hard liquor license) and I was blown away. Really tasty dishes and great presentation. The owner works the bar and tables. Very friendly. This is the sort of place you bring someone special. Use it wisely

Hmmm. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Came on a whim as the place has had a lot of buzz and it is one of the last Gables restaurants RZ in the Michelin guide I haven't tried yet.First, it is not a full service bar. Bummer. We ordered mainly appetizers and they were mostly underwhelming. We had the beet tartar. The beets tasted straight out of a can or a pouch from Publix. The beef tartar was ok. The potato dumplings were again ok. The entire meal was underwhelming and not inspiring; flavorless. The only highlight was the white wine Predicador which I had in Granada Spain in a Michelin restaurant. When I shared this with the wait staff I got zero engagement. Overall: underwhelming.

This is currently my new favorite restaurant in Miami. Seasonal local ingredients are used. As a result, the menu may change. Everything they make is absolutely out of this world. My friend and I each got a different dish and appetizers so that we could try a little bit of everything. We started off with the sourdough and house-made butter. We also decided to try the whipped ricotta. So creamy and just delicious. We also had the Maitake mushrooms. (Trust me, get this.) Also, if you are a ceviche fan, try the citrus crudo. Simply fresh and so good. For the entrees, we had the Bucatini. If you're a mushroom and truffle lover then this is for you. Absolutely outstanding. Last but not least, we also had the halibut and it was excellent. Very fresh, light and buttery. Service was amazing, our server took his time to explain the entire menu and helped us with the recommendations. Our only issue was that the cocktails tasted very much like just juice. So we switched to wine and we are so glad that we did. Regardless, I will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Absolutely loved this restaurant.

Superb! Superb! Superb! A friend and I had the 4 course menu at the Lion and the Rambler, a relatively new restaurant on Ponce just south of Calle Ocho. A small restaurant but perfect for these beautiful 4 course extravaganzas. It's a husband and wife team. The wife runs the front of the house and the husband is the creative chef. The meal started with a number of delicious amuse bouches, followed by sweet potatoes in a very thin skin and a sour orange sauce, cod with coconut bisque and a Thai basil sauce, short ribs cooked for 48 hours and then a wonderful mandarin ice cream with white chocolate and sorrel (where do you find sorrel in Miami!?). Followed by a number of smaller sweets. A very creative, innovative meal! If you have a chance try

I really wanted to like this place but it was just underwhelming. The flavor profile is just not there. We ordered the sourdough, house made focaccia, roasted beets, beef tartare, Iberico ham, baked cod and boniato pelmeni pasta. The food presentation was nice. However, the flavor was lacking so I'm thankful it was a small portions. They don't have a full bar - FYI. On the weekends, they only do tasting menu for $95/person. We were not aware when we made the reservation. If you did not want to do the tasting me, you can order from the regular menu but you'll have to sit at the bar. They were nice enough to let us sit at the regular table. The overall service was ok - nothing to rave about. The ambiance was that of a typical contemporary America cuisine, nothing special.

AMAZING. Small scratch kitchen. Had to wait a while for our table to be ready, even with a reservation.Food:-Fresh focaccia: made in house with a whipped sea salt butter and ricotta with honey to dip in. SO GOOD but wish portion was bigger.-bucatini: delish! Creamy and truffley. I believe their pasta is made with their sourdough -gnocchi: but not regular gnocchi. The texture was softer made with a special vegetable and a warm Gouda topping. Phenomenal.Wait for food was long as well. Only part that made them lose a star was the wait. Food was 11/10

Nothing special. We were so excited to try this spot out and went on a double date. Unfortunately we did not really care for the food, drinks, or experience here. :-/

I really, REALLY wanted to love this place & had been dying to visit since it opened. For a belated birthday dinner, my son brought me (a leo!) here. As soon as we walked in, the service was amazing! The hostess was so sweet & everyone smiled and welcomed us in like we were VIP's. As soon as we were seated, out adorable waiter Anthony brought me a birthday card that the entire staff had signed! SUCH a special touch. I couldn't wait to start ordering. They have a prix fixe menu that I wanted to try but my son wasn't very hungry. Prix fixe is all or nothing, whole table has to choose it so we went a la carte instead. I also ordered a cocktail. Unfortunately, the are waiting on their liquor license (i believe) so beer & wine only. All their cocktails are sake based which i'm fine with but was way too sweet when it arrived so i went with a white wine the next time. We ordered:BREADS & SPREADS- Focaccia with the Whipped Ricotta: BEST thing I had all night. That bread was divine & the honeyed ricotta was so good!SNACKS- Zerbinati Melon: It was beautiful to look at & tasty but not life changing. - Aged Gouda Cheese: this was super disappointing although my som really liked it. Felt very gimmicky. It was a large, mostly tasteless cracker with fig jam (tasted like guayaba to me) & the gouda shredded over the top. It looked cool, i guess but would never order again. SMALL PLATES- Steak Tartare: My son ordered this (I don't eat mammals) & said it was ok. Not as flavourful as he expected by the description in menu.- Maitake Mushrooms: I was most excited about this & again, looked absolutely gorgeous when brought out. The Parsley & Garlic Sabayon was delicious & the most beautiful shade of vivid green! Could not detect any flavor that would resemble "cherry blossom" like it said in the description but whatevs. My real issue with this dish was the overly salted mushrooms. Would have been pretty good otherwise. PASTA- Boniato Pelmeni: And again, perfectly plated & looked straight out of a magazine but unfortunately, it was so sweet, it ate like a dessert. So much so that I could not finish it & passed on an actual dessert (I never do that.) All in all while there were a few things I didn't enjoy, I would definitely come back to try the things I loved (looking at you, focaccia) & some more bites I didn't try. I still believe in Lion & the Rambler, it's a Leo thing :)
