Lickety Split Southern Kitchen & Bar

A friend of mine was visiting from California and we were looking for a place to eat. I started asking her the usual questions a guy always asks a woman about what she wants to eat. I was fully expecting to be caught in the where are we eating conversation for the next hour or two but she surprised me by stating the obvious, "We're in the South so let's eat some Southern food." Well duh. So LS was close by so we entered and sat at the bar which ended up being a great idea because the bartender Jay was one heck of a guy. He's a fellow actor so we had a great conversation about theatre and film. The atmosphere of this place was very social and ended up having a few amazing conversations with a fellow veteran and a business consultant. As a plus, the food didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed my beef brisket and my friend loved her salmon, okra and cabbage. Overall we left full of belly and mind. I would definitely go back. Nothing to run and scream about. The food is just okay. Not many pictures online because well...My friend and myself agreed that the food could use some more seasoning

Picked up my food. The service was nice, albeit a little slow to acknowledge me. The price for the food was also nicely priced. I ordered pulled pork with two sides and a dessert. And paid less than $20. The food was well-portioned as well. That was the positive. I will say, however, the food was average as far as the seasoning and quality. For the pulled pork, it needed to be drenched in sauce, which for me is not good. I would like to be able to taste the meat more than the sauce and it was a bit bland without the sauce being added. Overall, it was an average experience.

If you're just coming into Atlanta and you want to find some good food near the airport; try out Lickety split. There is plenty of parking in the back; however the inside is pretty small so if you have a stroller or car seat it's best to leave it in the car. Inside you can find a bar where you can order drinks and watch whatever is planning on the tv. Typically they'll have R&B/hip hop music playing in the background. When you come in you grab a menu and go to the register to order. It's open layout so you can see into the kitchen with no problem. Their menu is curated where you everything is a la carte. Recommended to order: Jumbo fried shrimp CatfishFried wings Pork chops Sweet tea Lemonade Cabbage Fries Yams Mac n cheese (hit or miss at times) Collard greens (could use more seasoning)

First time visiting and Great food and drinks. Service was relatively quick despite the line.

The food and customer service here is amazing. Free parking in the back. Grab a menu and place your order then grab a seat and wait for your number to be called. I had the shrimp, with yams & cabbage. Everything tasted amazing. So I went back the next day . Ms. Melissa holds that kitchen down. If you are looking for some delicious soul food stop on in.

10/10 recommend. Cheap soul food and a big serving of it. I got the fried chicken and it was incredible. 3 large pieces of dark meat for 10 bucks with a crispy batter.. this is unheard of. The collard greens and smackin Mac were great. The only food items that I ate that lacked were the strawberry banana pudding (felt like eating a cup of cool whip/ not dense enough for my liking) and the cornbread (comparable to the cheap jiffy dry corn bread in the box). Regardless because of the service, price and the chicken, I would go back again and again.

We made a reservation but our table wasn't available. I found the restaurant to be very warm. They probably need to run some fans or turn up the air conditioning. The fried chicken was good but not great. The salad was kinda bland. The people that worked there were nice but were overwhelmed by how busy it was.

My entire family loved each of their meals! We were in Atlanta for Christmas and came across this spot on TikTok. I ordered Turkey wing with yellow rice & gravy, with sides of yams and mac cheese. The yams were soooo delicious! Only con there was, was the 10% required tipping.. You order at the counter and after being called by the number on your receipt, you bring the food to your own table. So i'm not sure what exactly you're tipping and why it's required. Love supporting black owned businesses but there's always a catch some how some way. Overall, would recommend! I had so much expectation for this place. It was just okay to me.I got there maybe 30 mins after they were open during the week. I ended up stopping here because it's not that far from the airport.Plenty of parking on the side of the building. I wanted to try the turkey but that was not ready. I ended up trying the smoked salmon and the beef brisket. The smoked salmon was tasty. The beef brisket was tough!The Mac and cheese and dressing were tasty. I waited about 30 mins for my food. That's a long time to me. It was only about 5 other customers there and 4 of them already were eating. So the wait time to get your food is not great especially when your not busy. They also add additional fees to your receipt when you order it to go.The prices are high. I don't mind spending money on good food but I want to at least satisfied after I eat. This was not the case here. I shared it with my husband he did not care for it either. I won't return.
