License to Chill Cafe & Bar

So I got the lobster roll here, but what I got was a mess of different mystery meat of what looked and tasted like (lobster, imitation crab, and shrimp) that is drenched in sauce and served on a dried up bun. The flavors are so off that I was not even able to finish my roll. The only saving grace here are its drinks. The bartenders are nice and patient, and my favorite is Havanas and Bananas, which tasted like a nice banana and coconut icee!

Food here is delicious and refreshing. Our server was great! Also I love the vibe here!

I'm staying at the resort and wanted something that I could take back to the room. I ordered the mahi sandwich with fries, salted caramel cheese cake and a bottle of wine. The sandwich was a bit salty and parts were dry. The cheesecake was good but they gave me the wrong wine. I didn't take it back because I was too lazy to go back downstairs. The staff to greet you are not as friendly as the rest of the staff at the resort which is strange.

Great food and even better views. We were so excited to go to the place. It's inside the margaritaville resort and overlooks all the pools and lake.Although the food was great the service was obviously not their first priority. We never even saw our waitress smile or greet us. Such a shame because the food and atmosphere were super awesome! Also a downfall, they can't serve mimosas or any alcohol for that matter until 9 "because that's what time their bartender comes in." Like I said, pretty cool place. Great food. Sub par staff.

The atmosphere was great, but that was about the only thing we enjoyed. The waitress made an effort, but simply put, the food was absolutely terrible. I was shocked that such an establishment could have such low quality, tasteless food. I personally had shrimp scampi. It tasted like it came from the freezer. The pasta was soggy/watery and the dish in general was utterly tasteless, aside from the oil in the sauce "white wine" sauce. I specifically asked if it was creamy or oily before ordering, and the waiter said creamy--it certainly was not. I tried adding salt, pepper, and cheese, but it did no good. I gave up, so the meal was essentially a waste. My husband got the jerk salmon and it came out burnt. My mother got the chicken and it came out on a bed of white rice with absolutely no sauce or au jus. The chicken was pretty bland too. When we asked for some sort of sauce, they brought hot sauce ‍ . Finally, my son had chicken tenders and the chicken meat was so thin, overly breaded, and over fried--so essentially inedible, as it was too crunchy/hard for him to chew (he is about to be 2). We had a fantastic day at Margaritaville, but this was an unexpectedly poor end to our day and really dampened the experience. On the brighter side, the appetizers were pretty good--the egg rolls and wagyu meatballs. We actually enjoyed them more than the meal.

Poor service as we sat for 20-30 minutes and never seen a waiter/ waitress. Went I. To ask as we were sitting outside and another 15 minutes with no avail. As we got up to leave finally someone ran out to tell us they were busy and she guaranteed the service would be good if we stayed. We said no thanks and left.As we went downstairs to leave I asked for the manager to let them know what we had encountered, they appeared to care less about what I was telling them and kind of smiled and went back to talking to one another. Lack of customer focus will not fare very well in a business as nice as this.

I must admit, while this review is for the bar, it's perfectly balanced (read enhanced) by the fact that I'm looking out at lake Conroe while the sun sets. I had two bartenders serve me, one male and one female, and both were great. My drinks, the actual License to Chill, were exactly what I needed after a full day of conference activities. My stress simply melted away as my beverages disappeared into my belly. The day became night, friends gathered, and stories were abound. This, my friends, was an excellent end to the evening. Stop by and tell them Scott sent you. They won't know who you're talking about but who cares?

Not awful for a resort in the Conroe/Montgomery area. We came here twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Forgot to get pictures of the Lobster roll at dinner, but you Have to get that if you visit. Nice chunks of lobster on a perfect roll! Definitely worth the price. Breakfast was alright. Did the quesadillas and French toast. Not overly impressed. The quesadilla had watery type scrambled eggs. French toast was so-so. Can't say it was worth the $. But you are visiting a resort restaurant so you go knowing you're paying extra because...it's a resort. The staff was lovely and very friendly each time!

Good food, good scenery and terrific service! Stayed at the resort for several days and Jessyca served us each time. She gave great recommendations and provided awesome service. Ahi Salad, Caribbean Salad and the Chicken Sandwich were great!

Lunch portions are larger than average, for resort style cafe & bar food. Seafood is fresh and prices are reasonable. Food temperature and taste were spot on. *Staff are very attentive & accommodating.* Service was quick. Will visit for lunch again.
