Lane's Seafood and Steak House

This is a good restaurant. I wouldn't consider it a great seafood place as the menu is limited. The steak selection looked better. Great atmosphere, great, friend staff. Service was excellent.

I'm torn because while the service was great, the food was just ok. We got a bottle of wine to start because it was 6$ for a glass or 12$ for a bottle. You might as well go with a bottle at that point. I was actually extremely pleased with the wine, it's a muscadine wine called Happy and I was very happy drinking it. The hush puppies were good, you get a large basket while waiting for your food. The boyfriend got a salad to go with his meal and it was a little lacking. 2 slices of tomato, an onion slice, and some lettuce (I think there was something else on the salad but can't remember). Nothing special about the salad here. I ordered the salmon with sweet potatoes and green beans, he ordered a steak. The boyfriend was extremely happy with the steal, he said it was cooked perfectly. My salmon was subpar. Minimal seasoning, no sauce. It was just a piece of fish on the plate. I really wish there was some more seasoning or some sauce to top it because it was lacking. I am planning on going back to try the fried seafood options to see if that is any better. The staff were friendly. The lady at the checkout and the hostess were kind, it didn't take long at all to be seated. The owners came and checked in twice while we were eating and greeted the people around the restaurant.The vineyards are beautiful to drive into as you pull up to the restaurant. The views are perfect. I wish there were more windows in the restaurant so you could look out at the vineyards while you eat. Again, I'll definitely give them another try, but for a first visit and a place so close to me, I was hoping for it to be better.

Great family place, I love the service. It is not fancy but very clean and well run. I will be back again.

Saturday night dinner with the family.They were busy with students dining before their dance, but had room for us without much wait.Ribeyes around the table with baked potatoes, salads, sides of shrimp and oysters.Salads were fresh, grape tomatoes, no cheese, but a nice simple salad. Their blue cheese dressing is amazing, I enjoy dipping fries in it.The steaks have great flavor and are always cooked as ordered. The baked potatoes, hot out of the oven, fluffy, yum.The shrimp, calabash style, light breading, they have their own breader!Texas toast accompanies each entree.Brewed iced tea, unsweetened for me, yum! Pepsi products, or make it special and order wine from their selection.Service with Miss Dana was outstanding, met every need with grace and friendliness, like she loves her job. We need more people like that.Forgot pics, as we jumped right into the meal.I've read reviews saying it's worth the drive. We're blessed it's in our backyard.

Excellent food, service and set up. This is one of our go to spots. Shrimp Alfredo is great! Salads are good. Cornbread stick appetizers are excellent.

The fact that the owner comes to your table to speak to you every time you go there is amazing! The service every time is great. Feels like family. Such great people who clearly love what they do!

The tableau is set against the backdrop ofA lovely vineyard. The server was not 100%, but she redeemed her late star in the end. The owner stopped by....WOW...The food awesome

The fried seafood is so good! The staff is super friendly! It's a family owned and run business. The owner comes around to each table making sure people are pleased. It's a small menu done well with fresh ingredients and an old southern atmosphere.
