Lake Jackson Seafood

Food was bland had no flavor. I felt like I had Covid again. I tried a jumbo shrimp from my wife's dish and again absolutely no flavor. I had the grilled flounder with dirty rice and a side salad that a child made. I will never come here again. This is the seafood you get in the Midwest where there is no ocean. Lake Jackson is damn near on the water and no excuse for this.

Frozen seafood. Friendly location and owner. Waitress new nothing about seafood. I would stick to appetizers and cold beer.

The gumbo tasted a lot better than the last time we ate here. So it's back to a 5 star rating for me :) Seafood on the Gulf Coast is otherwise always great, fried or grilled (it's hard to ruin fresh seafood).

I live out of town and while in Lake Jackson I dropped in for lunch last week. After looking at their menu, being diabetic there were several grilled fish options of a variety of fish. I ordered the grilled snapper with veggies and dirty rice. It was obvious this restaurant served me tilapia in substitution of snapper. Trust me, I have filleted, many times over, all the fish on their menu and tilapia enough to know what I was looking at. Having an appointment to attend to, I just ate it and left not having the time to confront the situation. In conclusion, if making unsolicited substitutions and then charging for the food expected, then this is an unfortunate business practice. Buyer beware......

The best thing they have here is their fried fish. Fried shrimp & oysters are pretty good too. I do not care for the calamari it isn't crispy and a little chewy. Gumbo is hit or miss... I used to like it but don't care for it anymore. Ambiance is lack luster. This isn't a fine dining experience but a good local spot for lunch or dinner. Service is always pretty quick. Only thing I seriously don't recommend is the ice water! But I'm picky I guess.

On August 14, 2023 a group of 36 seniors with the Rev Joe E Dancy Memorial Center had lunch at Lake Jackson Seafood. The food was excellent and we all agree on this. From the seafood gumbo, fried fish, fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, boudain balls and on and and. The service was great all of our waitresses were very kind and most of all friendly. Tina D.

Because of the location the hours can be inconvenient but the chef is very professional. All of the specialties are made to order. Most items are from the Matagorda Bay area.

this restaurant is a must visit! i've been craving seafood and this was the best fish i've ever had. they have a big reasonably priced menu and the portions are absolutely huge! i had the scallops and they were the size of my fist! Our waitress was so sweet and the rest of the staff was so friendly! i live in austin but i will definitely be back just for the fish! the dining room was very clean and quiet ,the perfect place for a family meal :)
