Lady Fannie Mae's Ultimate Fish Fry

My husband and I have dined at Lady Fannie Mae's about five times now. I went into the restaurant today to order two four piece catfish dinners. There was a different lady cooking the food this time. Once I got my order I saw that the fries were a little less than the other times when we've purchased food there.I asked the young lady at the front counter could I have more fries with my order because typically we receive more. She agreed with me that the other cook is normal more generous with the fries and then proceeds in the back to ask the woman and older gentleman my request for fries.I heard the woman say more than three times "what that crazy lady mean she want more fries". The woman (I was told was the owner's wife) whom I've never met calls a paying customer (me) "crazy" more than once because this paying customer requested more fries.Lady Fannie Mae's lost two paying customers today. I did ask the young lady if I could speak with the woman. It was a no. She just apologized and introduced herself as the god daughter and requested that we continue to dine with them.I told her that I nor my husband would be coming back. Unfortunately, you try to support your own businesses and this ends up happening (with some, not all).Thank God this is not the only business that fries fish and we know how to fry our own. Just wanted to show support.

Service: young lady at register was nice, helpful in making my final food choice and patient.ambiance: quiet. the staff had a movie on the TV. if I was eating there I would have moved closer just to watch. lolprice: well I guess if you on a budget, a baller or a baller on a budget you'll find something to match your pockets. today, 7/20/2024 I was on a budget! I definitely received a great portion for under $10.00. Meal: Whiting Fish and grits. i asked for my fish to be fried very soft. Perfect with just enough crisp. Fish was piping hot. Grits were plentiful. I asked to place butter on the side so I may add as needed. You'll have to add your own salt and pepper to taste. I ordered to go, but I didn't make it out the door. lol. I ate half of my food there. it wasn't very busy, but they had some foot traffic.only thing I will suggest is to allow customers to review their order on the POS to make sure the order is right and nothing "extra" was added by "mistake". This was the only concern I experienced and eavesdropped on orders after mine. If you're a baller you may miss this.I'll be back very soon to try other items. They're closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Food was exceptional. The portions are decent and the prices are pretty affordable. The service was excellent.

When I ordered fish 10 months ago, the food was phenomenal!!! Since that time, there has been a shift from exceptional to acceptable. I hope they go back to phenomenal food with exceptional service!!!

I'll be honest, the only words that can describe my experience are HIDDEN GEM!!!I was in the area for a meeting and my coworker told me I had to give this restaurant a try. We decided to go here for lunch!The location sits right on the main strip so it's easy to find. The space is larger inside than it appears outside which is perfect as it's not crowded and has multiple booths making it perfect for friends. There are also a few high tables so if you come alone you can still enjoy the ambiance. I decided to get the whiting with fries and boyyyyyyy am I happy that I did. As I am a lover of whiting, I am a true lover of GOOD FRIED WHITING. When I tell you, this fish was perfectly fried. I'm talking about golden fried outside. Soft meaty middle. And most enjoyable, a seasoning blend that flavors the fish yet still allows it to be the center of attention. Paired with the well done fries (I always ask for crispy), this lunch break has turned me into a customer for life. The young lady at the cash register was very pleasant and presented a welcoming environment to the establishment. Further, taking service to the next level, the cook (who I think may be the owner) came from the back to greet us and ask if everything was to our liking. Wow! I'm talking Southern Hospitality and Customer Focused Deliverables along with a great meal. Whew! It gets no better. Oh yeah, I'm not really a lover of Hush Puppies, however, whatever they used to create these hush puppies, I ate them both. LoL!!!!!!!!If you're in the area and looking for a Great Meal and a laid back ambiance, make sure to stop in.

Table for one on this post!!! Had an evening to myself so I decided to grab a bite because I didn't want to cook. Of course I checked my handy dandy Yelp page and saw this spot with good reviews. I arrived and promptly greeted. The place is small however the menu is huge but to the point. I chose to dine in and it was a wait on the food but it was so fresh. The catfish fillets were big and crispy. Food and service was good and I will be back again.

Great food great service. Desserts and sides are a little pricey for the portion size, but worth every penny in my opinion.

Nice little gem in Fairburn. I was taking my car for work at Jerry Gowens Garage and saw this place. Didn't have time to eat before the next time I bought a friend. I got the two piece dinner with fries, slaw and hush puppies! Food: well prepared, came out like it been cooked by the sun, hot. When they say to order that is what they mean. I wasn't too pressed by the food not being highly seasoned as it gave me a chance to add the condiments I wanted. I got the whiting. My friend got the porkchop and shrimp platter. I shared some of my fish with him and I got some of his shrimp, well battered and welll cooked! Fish nice pieces, nicely battered, fries krinkle cut, crisp, soft on the inside. They just go with the fish. Service: really great, we got Paige, she was on point from the time we came in until the time we left. Price: really affordable.The food was so good I bought my wife back and she loved it. I will definitely be back!

Let me start off by saying I have been to this establishment quite a few times since she has opened. It has been hit or miss but today it was a mess. Last Thursday.9/25/24 I ordered four plates with fried okra. Because I work in an establishment near there, I ordered 20 minutes before I got there. When getting there there was a line the young lady was trying to get the line down. She told me my food was ready. It was backed up and tied up because I was trying to get back to work. I didn't look at it. When I got to work, everybody opened up there, tray okra fried black. I skipped apart the tag that was on my bag read $74.43 because young lady was rushing or just didn't know when I tapped my card it tapped$89.$$. I had already been standing there for 20 minutes. I did not have time for her to refund which would have taken days to get back and then recharge me so I asked her to make sure somebody get a plate on me. Fast-forward when I called back to let them know what happened Mrs. Fannie knew who I was when I explained said she was sorry that that happened and that she will replace the plates. Because she knew that I had came up there waited paid extra. I explained to her that we probably would come back on the following week to get our plates. Call today her husband the pastor was very argumentative. Let me know that he was a pastor past judgement as though I was lying. Threaten to call his wife and ask her and with a calm voice I said please go ahead. Then said I can't get in touch with her as soon as I said that and he will replace the meals. I asked him to make all four catfish dinners because one of them was a whitening, he refused. As I tried to tell him about the overpayment, he didn't want to hear it. So in my convoy, I said, make it. The following pictures are evidence. Even though I am one person, my constituents can do whatever they want, but because of this person's attitude, I will not patronize this business ever again even if it's free.
