Super pricey but good order crawfish so good waiter was so nice!!! It was just super expensive for idk why

Once again, fellow Yelpers didn't let us down. On our way to a five day, end of season cruise, myself, my wife and four friends overnighted in the small town of Alvin, TX. Arriving at just about supper time I opened up the Yelp app and started searching for highly rated restaurants in the area and came up with La Costa. And boy oh boy, did I hit a home run or what???It was a busy Friday night but we were ushered right in to a table for six. We ordered our drinks right away and began perusing the menu. While we waited they served us some house made tortilla chips and salsa. Seafood is apparently their specialty, with a "Mexican" flair. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE in our group RAVED about how much they loved their meal. I had their seafood gumbo and a side salad ($3.99, no joke) which also came with some delicious garlic bread. That salad was fresh AND HUGE!!! The gumbo was a dark brown rue, almost a dark chocolate color and had such depth of flavor. It had plenty of fish and shrimp and was amazing for the price of $8.99. A friend ordered the Fried Fish Po Boy and was surprised that it had TWO pieces of fish. He was stuffed but was up to the task of consuming the entire sandwich. Others ordered Fried Shrimp another ordered a chicken quesadilla. Everyone commented about the quality, flavor and size of their entree.While we likely won't be back in the area again, I give my highest recommendation to this family owned restaurant. You will LOVE it as did we!

Good food, go there and enjoy the seafood and other very tasty dishes. You will not regret it!

Hot, fresh food with friendly service. We visited at 4 on a Saturday. It wasn't too packed but definitely busy. We were seated right away. I had the ribeye and grilled shrimp. I asked for medium rare and it was a little overcooked but still delicious! The coleslaw was a tasty delight! So fresh with a hint of pineapple! Not too sweet or soggy like most. My husband got the fried platter. Not too greasy, and not frozen food. Lots of TVs showing sports to put the cherry on top! They serve Mexican food too and the table next to us had sizzling fajitas. Will definitely try to back!

Food is great. Service is good. Ambiance is nice with bypass seating. Crawfish are good.

It's a must try!! Celeste was on top of her game! We had the Cajun pasta and the shrimp wrapped in bacon!! The calamari was also really good. Will def recommend and come back! The service provided and the attention of the staff to our needs was appreciated! The ambience was chill and family friendly! There is also a bar! Shout out to our waitress Celeste, keep up the good work girl!!

Such a cute place! Food and staff were amazing, plus lots of TVs to watch games. Environment was friendly and welcoming.

Food is always good. Service is always exceptional. Natalie was our server this time and just awesome! Chill vibe, perfect for a bucket of beers and relaxing afternoon.

Went here because we wanted grilled or baked fish. Got the seared tuna. It was way overcooked. Not good. The calamari was too breaded and overcooked, chewy. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and the coleslaw was ok. Should have went to Santa Fe as recommended.Being from New England, I doubt I will find any decent seafood in Texas. Not comparable. LOL

This place is where it's at! Crawfish are hugggeeee. Environment is amazing, the food is amazing, the service is always top notch. I love it
