La Cocina - Mebane

Family is still COVID Cautious, and they listed outside seating. I did not see photos. Well, they have great outdoor seating, has a fireplace also. (Too hot now). Service sat us no issues, and I was glad the waitress came out with a mask on. She says she always wears it! Yeah! Good selection of, seems Tex-Mex to me? But great huge servings, spouse's beer was in a 32 oz mug looked like a pitcher! Ice cold he said! (I find drink)Sister (age 64) only wanted one taco, beans and rice, so waitress kindly suggested the kids menu. Very nice of her! All and all a great meal. BTW, the meat had some awesome flavored spice, Not hot at all, but delicious! I forgot to ask what!

Tonight we went to La Cocina for dinner. After we ordered FRANCISCO came to our table and accused us of leaving without paying. At first I thought we were being pranked, but he continued. He said he knew it was us. Once I realized he was serious I started asking questions. I asked why us. He said he saw us on video. I asked if he could show us the video he said he couldn't. I asked the date. It was OCTOBER 29!!! I was like WTF!!! If you know me you know I was HOT, but still maintained my composure. I informed him of the following: I've never ordered a meal I could not pay for, regardless of price. I've never walked out of a restaurant without paying for my check. I've NEVER been accused of something like this before. Needless to say I pulled up my online banking, search for the restaurant, and showed him the confirmation of payment. I asked for the manager and he said there wasn't one there. So I'll be saying FAREWELL to La Cocina! I will share this poor experience with family and friends. I will no longer bring colleagues here. I will no longer bring friends from out of town here. Due to the experience tonight you've lost a valued customer! A message to the owner: I am a Human Resource professional. I would recommend you coach your servers on the appropriate way to approach a customer with a sensitive topic such as this in order to avoid losing future business.

I love this place- best price for food, best margaritas ever, and the sweetest guy who works there Jose is always so nice and attentive! He waited on us the first time going there, was so nice and thoughtful introducing us to the food, and remembered us when we came back a month later from one random night even though they're so busy and take care of so many people!

Always great to eat here. Their salads are yummy, the lunch specials are great! Well presented. Love the atmosphere. Service is speedy and just what you'd like!

This place be hit or miss n has been miss Alot lately when it hit it hits very flavorful and well worth the money when it don't hit you'll left feeling cheated by the pile of flavorless food you get

My favorite Mexican restaurant in town!! Great food , good service , and yesss pitchers of margaritas!! I am pretty basic and have gotten the same thing every time I go shrimp, stake and cheese taco. Delicious every time. We opt in for the top shelf tequila, and if you get heartburn or anything usually, you won't here, I'm not sure what there trick is.

1.5/5 - I ordered a bean burrito with veggies, took a bite and there was chicken in it. Took forever to flag our waiter down, and when I explained to him that I'm vegetarian and asked for beans and not chicken, he stared at me, gave me a dirty look, and without saying a word took my plate back. It was promptly replaced but the order I received was still wrong bc there were no veggies. I didn't complain again though. The food was underwhelming, nothing special or flavorful about it. Portion size and price were the only positives. Definitely will not be returning.

Great food! That is not the issue. Service? On par! However, telling me a waitress gave me "poor service" when I tipped $9?? Ridiculous!Look at the receipt! Trying to "guilt trip" me into feeling bad about my tip???I had to pull the waitress aside and ask her about this. They said it was "out of their control". It was,"upper management". I'm going to call the manager next!
