Being from the East Coast you get the need for a good bagel sometimes... today was one of those days. My friend and I ordered bagel sandwiches. I'm glad that Brazos bagel has set up shop in Kojak's. Kojak's offers sandwiches with everything from chicken to lox. (Wednesday through Sunday only). Overall the service was okay. Nothing special. The girl was more concerned with her slicing items than originally serving us. I was semi bummed that they only offered the everything or plain as choices for the sandwiches. The overall restaurant is fairly simple. They had live music even on a Sunday morning. Plenty of seating all around.

Just WOW! The freshly baked bagel by Brazos Bagels was the perfect base for the scrumptious vegetable sandwich. Can't remember the exact name of the plate but the sandwich had a delectable pesto sauce and cream cheese paired with fresh and crisp tomato, spinach, purple onion, and avocado. I will be back just for that! Went nicely with a glass of rosé.The sausage, egg, cheese, potato & biscuit gravy bowl was so delicious as well especially if you're craving a hearty southern style breakfast/brunch.The gyro sandwich was great and the fries on the side were seasoned well and crispy, exactly how you'd want fries to be. Casual down home vibes with a Heights flare and very reasonably priced!

Owner named jack, checked on me and my experience. Food was amazing! Traditional home style! Very Homie and welcoming interior that gave it a diner vibe. Price point for what you are ordering is unbeatable!

I often order dinner to-go for when my kids are coming over and I don't feel like cooking. We're always happy with our meals. Great place to have in hour neighborhood and live music there on Thursday evenings.

I called at 10:40, do you have any bagels. "Oh, yes. But we stop selling breakfast at 10:30," can I get a bagel?? " no it's after 10:30. Strike 2 on this place, not giving it a third try.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday. Service was slow and food was mediocre at best. Fine food it is not.

Kojak's has been in the area since the 70s. They serve a mix of American and Mediterranean cuisine. I was first introduced to this place after I got hired from my company and got to eat lunch with the other managers and directors. It's nice cause now it's a tradition I do with our new hires after a day of orientation.I've tried a few dishes, but I gravitate toward their avocado BLT on french bread. The bread is nicely toasted and still soft inside. There's plenty of bacon and avocado. Their crinkle fries are good, but it's the seasoning they use that adds a nice touch. You can ask for extra seasoning on the side. Other people have ordered soups, the gyro plate, and something homey like meatloaf. One of my coworkers is vegetarian, so it's nice that they have a falafel sandwich and other options. Many people seem to go here for lunch in between their work day. There's enough tables and chairs and some booth seats. Sometimes they are out of a certain type of soda or the ice machine is broken, but they do keep a bucket of ice or let you pick a canned soda of what's out.

Wanted a sandwich, went for lunch. Food is not awesome. "Hand Cut Fries" does not mean Sysco frozen crinkle cut fries. Mustard potato salad had no mustard, lots of mayo though. Why are sides served in plastic clamshells? Wasteful, eco-vicious. Music was nice. Won't be back.

Really good what I would deem "plate specials." Salmon picatta, chicken enchiladas, meatloaf all on point. In particular with the first two, the sauces are unusually good. Vegetable quiche as well is a standout. Have been going here since the late 90s, through all of their restaurant layout iterations. They really try to introduce new things - from dinner to live music - to patrons. Owner is typically onsite and working like a dog. Worth a try, folks!
