Kisoya is a katsu ( fried pork cutlet) restaurant. They offer other items (udon, ramen ,etc) but katsu is their specialty. After visiting family overseas I have been craving katsu. I looked around and came across Kisoya. After looking at the reviews I was a bit hesitant to try the place. But I'm glad I did. The place remind me of a school cafeteria/fast food. You place your order with the cashier and they give you a pager, then you pick up your food once the pager goes off. I order the Tonkatsu (number 1) it came with a pork cutlet, salad, udon soup and rice. It was soooo good! The pictures online don't do it justice....it is huge! And so affordable!Everything was super tasty and good! Why so cheap? No servers on this place. This is how they keep prices low. Nothing wrong with that. Everything on this restaurant was clean ( a must ) . Overall, I really enjoy this place. Another thing that makes this place is that all near by shops employees stopped by for lunch at this place... another indicator that this place is awesome! So if you are looking for a tasty, not fast food meal....with incredible value....don't look any further....Kisoya is the place for you!!

I tried this place on a whim and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant is located in a large shopping center and is a little hard to find since it's kind of in a corner. Parking was more than adequate since it's in a large shopping center. The menu is large but not overwhelming. If you go on their website it says you order on a kiosk but this past weekend there was a person there taking orders. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fish katsu. The chicken sandwich was very good. It was well seasoned and crispy. The fries were meh but I didn't come for the fries. The fish katsu was the highlight. It was fried perfectly but was not greasy. I really enjoyed the udon as well. This place is a good hour from where I live but I'm already planning on coming back.

I had to revisit this place during my trip to Duluth earlier this week...This time I just tried their basic Chicken Katsu meal, which came with Udon Soup. Again, just incredible what you get for such a value-priced meal! I mean this is high quality restaurant food at nearly fast food pricing?!?BTW, their Chicken Katsu cutlet is so big, I couldn't finish. Seriously, it's enough to feed 2 people. Anyway, just had to give more props to this place. Foods are SO good...and shockingly cheap!

***FOOD: Everything was so delicious. TONKATSU: pork was crispy without being greasy at all, traditional katsu & craveable good; TAKO YAKI: very very good, hot melt in your mouth octopus delicious; SHRIMP TEMPURA UDON: love the broth, only thing is they pupt the shrimp in the soup so it got soggy very quickly. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$ reasonably priced $15-16 entrees ***DÉCOR: clean bright new & like a university food hall. ***RECOMMEND: YES RECOMMEND. Definitely will come back to have more fried pork cutlet & try their curry.

It wasn't until I was browsing around udon places that I discovered this quite literal hole in the wall! It's right behind a pillar way that blocks your view in the Assi plaza on the left most side-corner of Arte!My sister loves udon and had been looking around for an udon specific restaurant that wasn't just ramen and lo and behold, Kisoya. The interior inside is super nice and looks like a mini dining hall where you walk in and order up front then choose a place to sit down before picking up your order at the counter when ready. The meals are well portioned and the price is worth it! We will definitely be coming back here for our Udon cravings.

This is a newer restaurant that just opened up, not too long ago. There was another traditional Korean restaurant here before. They redid the whole space and made it look so nice and clean. You order your food at the counter and when it's done, you pick it up at the pick up window. after you're done with your meal, you return it with the tray at the drop off window and you're done. They have all your utensils and extra plates at the front order counter. Making it very convenient and self-sufficient they also have a self serve water dispenser. With this set up very little Staff is needed. They have one person to go around and clean the tables as people leave. The prices here are very reasonable. You can get a full combo for under $20. And the portions are very satisfying. I recommend getting the combos that comes with tonkatsu and a soup, well worth the meal. The tonkatsu was very crispy and tasted great. All the noodles would be great in the winter months.

Kisoya has the best cheese Donkatsu (Doncas) in the area in my opinion! Very generous portions, one meal could be split by two people. The pork was not too thin of a cut but still fully cooked, and the cheese was substantial. The side salad dressing had a kick which cuts the greasy pork cutlet. I appreciated the udon but it wasn't necessary for the meal, the rice was a perfect accompaniment for the pork.Service was quick, they took our order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to inform you the food is ready. I liked the interiors, very modern and cozy. There are booths for privacy and are great for kids. Will definitely come back!

Located in the Assi Plaza, Kisoya is a new restaurant that has opened up serving katsu and a variety of Korean/Japanese dishes. The restaurant is like a cafeteria type vibe where you order at the front and pick up when your buzzer rings. Water is all self service. The restaurant is very big and bright and offers a lot of tables. Staff was extremely friendly and the food came out rather quickly. Definitely recommend anyone in the area to try this place out. Recommended Items:-Chicken Katsu-Udon-Pork KatsuParking is abundant and free but can get crowded during rush hour.

Food:Donkatsu - very good but small portion. The crust is very crispy and light and the meat is juicy and tender. Def wish it was bigger portions. Shrimp Tempura Udon - our least favorite dish of the three. Noodles were nice and chewy and but broth is on the sweeter side. Still very good flavors overall. Beef Tantanmen - the favorite dish of the night. Noodles again were chewy and broth was flavorful and not too spicy. Portions were a good size too. Only complaint of this dish is that the beef slices were slightly overcooked. Service/Ambience: very friendly staff. It's self service but everything is laid out very easily for you to get everything you need. They even give cotton candy for dessert if you have kids. It is very spacious inside and very clean in decor and cleanliness. Overall, tasty food but pending your preferences. We will come back to try other dishes. Pass on udon for us though. Worth a try if you want donkatsu.

The front staff was not really attentive. We placed a to go order and they charge an extra fee for the to go boxes and the portion seems less than if you ate in person looking at other reviews. Taste was decent for the price
