We recently went to Kirby's to celebrate our twins' 15th birthday. We had been to Kirby's several times previously. Service during our most recent visit was as friendly and attentive as ever. The food, however, was a disappointment. Our steaks and seafood entrees were all rather dry and lacking in flavor. A bowl of onion soup I had as an appetizer was practically inedible. The cheese was extremely chewy and flavorless and the rest of the soup tasted only of salt. Our twins both ordered desserts and seemed pleased with them. On balance, we expected much better from Kirby's.

the French fries were old, reheated and burned. The steaks were grossly oversalted. Service was good. The whole dinner was rushed and not at all pleasant. We went for a special occasion and it was definitely not special. We have felt more welcome at far lower price points. It was incredibly loud for such a dark intimate dining space. We could not hear our own conversation. Left to find dessert elsewhere.

For a weekday outing, this place was packed. We came out on a Wednesday night to enjoy a nice dinner. We were seated right away, restaurant was very intimated and cozy. We ordered steak, lobster, Mac n cheese, baked potato, and chocolate cake. Steak was "melt in your mouth" delicious, lobster scampi was savory, Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful. We reallllly enjoyed our meals!! Now, this was easily a 5 star experience had we not ordered dessert... The chocolate cake was a TOTAL let down. It was as dry as a Brillo pad and had no flavor. I was shocked at how bad it was. All in all, the experience was great!

Had the 7 oz filet. Cooked to perfection. Sides of asparagus and broccoli. Really only needed one - they were generous. Bartender recommended a nice bourbon. I'll be looking far a bottle of that for home.Lots of people seem to have this as their anniversary or birthday "special place". I'd say, "just go." It is good.Oh yeah, turtles.

We decided to check our Kirby's in the woodlands during this years Houston Restaurant weeks. First time having been and it's pretty much what you would expect in a high end steakhouse. Nicely decorated, warm atmosphere and attentive service. For my meal I opted to start with a bowl of French onion soup (not part of the RW menu) and it came out quickly and was layered with that delicious meaty cheese, hiding underneath chunks of soft bread soaked in the peppery onion soup with ample bits of sweet, stewed onion. My 1st official course I went with the Moroccan lamb chops; I cook some mean lamb chops at home and these did not disappoint. Medium rare as requested with a nice char on the outside, VERY tender meat with a delicious harissa and mint chimichurri on top. For my 2nd course I went with the redfish piccata, mainly because I had cooked steak the night before at home. The fish was a good size and flaked apart perfectly, revealing ample spinach, capers, mushrooms and tomatoes in a beurre blanc sauce. Finally I ended with the bourbon blueberry crumble cheesecake which was the perfect amount of dessert after everything else, rich and creamy cheesecake texture that you would expect, with a nice tart blueberry bourbon crumble. My son had the kids steak and fries which came out a perfect medium, with fries. The fries were awesome and so was the steak; for a kids sirloin steak, it was melt in your mouth tender and tasted great. Only $12 at that. I could have had that as a starter! My choice of libations were a couple of dirty martinis with Bombay gin and (my favorite) lots of hand stuffed, blue cheese olives. During my meal I kept it simple with just an Amstel light beer. All in all, a very nice meal for our first experience. The HRW menu is $55 per person and should leave you feeling satisfied.

I cannot believe I had never eaten at Kirby's in the 18 years I've lived in The Woodlands. I finally went last night. The absolute best steakhouse in the area, and one of the best I've been to. The atmosphere is great. We sat by the large windows over looking the lake behind it. Tim our waiter was freakin awesome. I had the pepper steak. A 10oz filet rolled in creaked black pepper and served it's a cognac sauce. Steak was cooked to perfection. The sauce was the "cherry" on top. My wife had the Roquefort filet. She said it was great. The creamed spinach and mash potato sides were great. Can't wait to go back.

Came here for Valentines dinner tonight and had a fantastic meal. They had a special 4 course menu for Valentine's Day which was $99 a person. We started off with the Lamb Chop Wellington and truffle and fontina fondue for our first course. Both were great but the lamb chop Wellington was particularly excellent. I would come back just for this dish; it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. For our second course we had the lobster bisque soup and chopped salad. The lobster bisque had plenty of lobster in it but I wish it a creamier soup. The chopped salad was great and had plenty of dressing and toppings to keep each bite delicious. For our main course I got the ribeye with truffle foie gras butter and my gf had the grouper. We both really enjoyed our entrees although I probably wouldn't have splurged for the $18 truffle butter again as I felt it didn't add a ton of flavor to my steak. Finally we ended our meal with a round of espresso martinis and flourless chocolate cake. The martini's actually complemented the cake quite nicely and was a nice way to end the meal. Service throughout the meal was very attentive without being obtrusive. Expect to pay high end steakhouse prices. Our total with 6 cocktails was $330 plus tip. Not outrageous for a 4 course meal with cocktails on valentines at a classy steakhouse, but definitely not something we can do more than 2 or 3 times a year. Will definitely be back at some point to check out their regular menu and their cigar bar.

What's not to say?? We arrived to celebrate my s/o's 72nd birthday and everything was spot on! I requested booth and Shay was our waiter. He was excellent throughout the meal along with other servers. The crab cake appetizer is 6 stars. Do not hesitate visiting this restaurant as this is what fine dining is all about! We thank you for a fabulous memory.
