Intro to a cathead biscuit and we knew we were moving South!!! Love this place! We get something different every time for dinner but always cathead cheese biscuits with bacon egg and hot sauce!!! Oh my!!!! The ladies behind the counter are awesome and work hard and always make you feel like you've been going there forever.

Made the drive to Washington to try this famous local spot - the building itself is pretty rundown, parking spots a bit limited. You order at the window and wait to hear your name hollered. The young lady that placed our order was not friendly. Period. Borderline rude and made it pretty clear she didn't want to be at work. Onto the food - the fried chicken was good, the corn nuggets very yummy. Didn't care for the potato salad. The yellow cake with chocolate frosting was average, didn't finish it. Not sure we'd eat here again.

One night stopover and found King Chicken. Delicious fried chicken, juicy and not overly greasy. Of course the country sides: okra, lima beans and corn bread. Walk up windows to order and take away. Nice folks.

Wow! Friendly service for the win! First timer as I am visiting from out of town. I had heard they are known for their biscuits (I plan to go for breakfast one day this week) but we stopped in for lunch. I got the fried chicken sandwich, side of Mac and cheese and tater tots! All of that for a little over $10! The Mac and cheese reminded me of homemade from my Granny's house, the tots were hot and crispy and the fried chicken was perfect! Order was fast and fresh, and there was even a friendly group of gentleman out front playing a game of checkers. Small town charm at its finest.

We have visited King Chicken twice, once for breakfast and recently for dinner. Every dish, from the cheese biscuits to the fried chicken, hush puppies, and cinnamon rolls, was spectacularly delicious! I'm eager to try the sweet potato biscuits, rumored to be available only one day a week. King Chicken has become a must-visit for me whenever I'm in Washington, NC. This is carry-out only, and be aware that the online ordering system will let you place an order for items that are sold out. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was informed that two items I ordered were sold out, but they allowed me to substitute for different items.

OMG, we loved Kings - definitely a must stop if you're in the area.I ordered a couple of Chix Thighs that came with one of their delicious Cat Head Cheese biscuits, also a side of Hush Puppies and a small Sweet Potato Pie.Super nice staff, huge menu and delicious southern food. Everything was so yummy and definitely the best sweet potato pie I've ever had. So yep, we'll be back, next time we're in NC.

Saw the billboards, was late so looking for something quick in Washington. The chicken was fried right, pieces were a bit small. Taste was alright, just like home cooked fried chicken. I was looking for some local flair, just good chicken fried right. I'm a Popeyes fiend so also used to Louisiana flair in all things fried, clearly this is North Carolina. I will be back to try the collards on Friday and may try the fish.
