You'll find Kailash Parbat nestled into the second floor of the most Indian strip mall I've ever seen, up a rinky dink elevator, with a colorful and highly decorated interior. It's the kind of aesthetic that probably looks really good at night by dim light and comes off a bit intense by daylight. We came to check out the lunch buffet, and were particularly excited because everything on the menu is vegetarian. My lunch buddy is vegetarian and was glad to have the run of the entire selection. We got there shortly after opening, and did have to wait a bit for the buffet to be ready. They had a pretty varied selection of street foods, curries, rices, chutneys, and even some dessert! The only thing we actually ordered off the menu was the mango lassi. The food here is honestly stellar. At a vegetarian Indian place the paneer has to be good, and theirs is perfect. The main curries were diverse and deep in flavor. We especially liked their light, flavorful garlic naan. The mango lassi may not be the best I've ever had but it is really refreshing. We were absolutely stuffed by the end, and I didn't even get to try everything. The buffet itself is a really good value, I think only about $16 per person which is totally worth it given how high quality the buffet is. Service is very attentive, although we were not there on a busy day. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way about the experience was the way they asked us for a review. At the end of the meal, one of the staff came by and asked if we'd enjoyed our meal, and we did, so we said yes. He then ask if we could leave them a good review. I love supporting the restaurants I enjoy and in fact do that regularly on this very website, so I said yes. Instead of ending the conversation there, however, he then stood there and insisted we write a review on google right then and there and basically watched us do it. It honestly made me really uncomfortable, and even though I'd only had good things to say about the experience before then, I felt it was overly pushy to pressure us to write a review right this second. It unfortunately put a bad taste in my mouth after what had been a very delicious meal. Would we still come back? Likely yes, because the food was so good. But that encounter at the end is the main thing keeping me from giving five stars on this review.

I am sorry, but the food here was not worth even climbing the stairs to the restaurant. I am not a chaat snob or an ardent lover of Indian food which is not cooked at home, but this place unlocked new levels of disappointment. The interior and the food looks good. The service even was good. But everything tastes the same. Please save yourself all this disappointment and go to the other places in the same strip, if you catch my drift. Never again

Loved it here. Everything was wonderful except for a couple of minor service issues. More on that later. This was a last second Valentine's Day option since my original reservation elsewhere didn't work out (the other place informed me the day before when confirming my reservation that they decided to switch to pre-fix and we didn't want that). Thankfully, Indian places tend to be available. We had a reservation and sat right away. We started with one of their specialities, chole batura, which is a chickpea dish served with 2 gigantic puff pastries. So, being the Americans we are, we ripped those apart and used it to make tacos. The dish was so flavorful without being too spicy. If you order this keep in mind a couple of things-the side of spiced onions it is served with is a great addition and you have to eat it with the pastry. It really loses something if you try to eat the chickpea dish without the pastry. And since nothing here was gluten free, if you have a gluten allergy, well, don't go to Indian restaurants but definitely don't get this. If you're merely intolerant and will just have to deal with the bloats, get this. It's worth it. For entrees we split a mushroom masala and the Dahl makhani. The Dahl was another chickpea based curry kind of dish. Since I couldn't get the naan bread due to the gluten (wait, I'll explain) I upgraded to the Jerra rice, which is basically a spiced rice. Okay, so why avoid the naan if I was going to eat the pastry? Because I didn't know I was going to eat the pastry and I was already eating Indian on Valentine's Day (who does that????), and I was to intending to add the gluten bloats on top of that. And yes, I share way too much info on here. Anyway, the entrees were amazing. Once we had all three, I would rank them the Dahl (which, by the way, is another signature dish, I think) then the mushroom masala, then the appetizer. And none were bad, but gun to the head, that's how I'd have to rank them. The restaurant is cute as anything. The decorations are beautiful and there's a lot of space. Some of the little nick-nacks are weird but overall, a really nice place to enjoy your dinner. Service issues-first, I guess appetizers are a western concept because only in Europe and the US can you order a starter and be given time to eat your starter. I feel like every ethnic restaurant I go to just slams the table with food. I know there are a lot of places-"street food" restaurants for example-where everything comes out when it's ready. But if you advertise appetizers, then the entrees shouldn't come out a minute after the appetizer. Second, we waited a good 20 minutes after finishing our meal for someone to come to see if we were ready. That's too long, especially on a holiday when you might have post-dinner plans like we did. In spite of that, this was still a 5 star meal. For the food and ambiance, I can't take anything away for a couple of service issues that were admittedly minor. I'd definitely come back.

I've been craving authentic Indian food, so my bew brought me here for our anniversary. We had no idea what to order, so we leaned heavily on pics from previous Google reviews & what our waitresses recommended. This is a small restaurant, but you know it's good because it was nothing but natives dining in & the meals are shareable! Now don't y'all go up there & start cutting up. Have some act right. Enjoy!

I've heard great reviews about this place and had been wanting to come by here for a while! For starters we had papdi chat and pani puri, and I preferred the chat more. The pani puri was good but I wasn't the biggest fan of the potato stuffing. For the main meal, I went with the paneer tikka labadaar with chili garlic naan. The naan was delicious and the paneer was pretty good too. There wasn't a lot of paneer pieces, but the gravy was quite tasty. We got our food fairly quickly, and I recommend putting in a reservation since it can get pretty crowded and there isn't a lot of tables at the place.

This is the spot if you are craving curry. Everything we ordered was delicious! They had large portions perfect for groups to share and leftovers. I was surprised by the stuffed mushrooms and enjoyed the green dessert drink our waiter had us try. The service was quick and the wait safe was very friendly.

There are four vegetarian Indian restaurants in this plaza at present. This one is notable for being upstairs and upscale. Numerous signs stated to take the elevator up to this restaurant, but it was down so one had to walk up some stairs. It was open on a holiday, but unsurprisingly busy. I got takeout, but there were chairs and tables unused on the balcony outdoors. They promoted their chole bhatura as being a signature item, and they did a great job with it. Even in takeout, an extra contained with pickled onions, a bit of chili pepper, and a lemon to squeeze were included. The chickpeas themselves were warmly spiced and bursting with flavor, and although I didn't get a really giant bread, two breads of reasonable size made for a large portion overall. I added a veg manchow soup, which came with separate crunchy noodles. It was salty and delivered a flavor fix that allowed me to skip the nearby Indo-Chinese place. They did forget my soup, but I wasn't too concerned about it as they rectified this quickly and it was a busy day for them. I wasn't sold on them being the best of many restaurants nearby, but I'd certainly like to come back.

The worst ever restaurant that we had food at. I felt like the vada in Dahi vada was at least a week old. Bhel puri was terrible. Can't they make bhel puri fresh? Looks like they served it to us right from the refrigerator. Terrible. Classic paneer tikka - another horrible experience. There is no taste in it. I never knew that the paneer can be cooked this horrible. The channa in chole bhature was a top-notch experience in another way. Masala tea - tea colored water with sugar in it. Ambiance of the hotel. You have to go to the second floor for the restaurant. Each step is decorated with harsh spitting. We were given a table that was shaky and seemed like it could break anytime. The seats and cushion - longing for a wash for like several years. I would never visit this Desi Tadka or Kailash Parbat in my life ever again. Lastly, the empathy of the servers...we could never forget. OMG.On top of this, they added a gratuity of 18% for the above service. This is worser than stealing for a terrible service and dining experience.I will share this experience with as many people as possible.Thank you.
