Count us as another Kahlovera fan. We both had the chicken enchilada lunch special with tomatillo sauce and refried black beans. The sauce was delicious and not too spicy or salty. The corn tortillas and the chicken filling were both excellent. The food is pricey even for lunch but the quality is very good. We ate outdoors and enjoyed the setting.

Authentic tacos for sure! The food was excellent; great flavor. The restaurant was not packed for lunch on a Saturday which was surprising to us. The service was great. I gotta say the music is pretty loud there. For people who have sensitive ears this may not be the best place to eat. Overall the food was really good but a bit pricey. Our daughters really enjoyed the rice and beans. My husband and I had the steak tacos. The guacamole was delicious. Our youngest loved it.We will be back!

Before I came here, I was a little skeptical because I thought the branding was a little complicated. For example, I think the menu design could be simplified a lot. It's kind of a lot. However, I would definitely go back now! I really liked the service and the ambiance. The restaurant is really cozy and I enjoyed being there. Service was also SO quick, which I love. The food was also really good. The tacos were some of my favorite tacos ever, largely because the meat was really flavorful. I would totally order them again. I also liked the chips, but I wish the guacamole was less expensive.

Wow what an awesome gem in Chapel Hill! Tucked away in Meadowmont Village, Kahlovera offers elevated Mexican dishes and delicious margaritas, with beautiful decor to match. A friend and I dined here on a Monday evening and upon arrival (around 4:45-5) we were the only patrons so we had free range of the restaurant. As the night went on, it definitely got busy. We chose to sit outside as it was a little loud (and hot!) inside. There are a few tables on the sidewalk which was perfect for us. I was lucky to see the beautiful indoor decor, though! We started off with $5 margaritas which is their Monday special. Yum! They are so beautiful and tasty. The chips are also amazing. You can tell they are homemade and a little thicker than chips at other traditional Mexican restaurants. The salsa was also good with just the right amount of spice. The menu is large and there are so many options! It was tough to choose. The prices are definitely more than you might be used to with other comparable places, but portions are worth it. For our mains, we each got enchiladas. I got the Enchiladas Viva Mexico and she got the Enchiladas Selena. They were beautifully plated and tasted just as good as they looked! Very pleased with this choice, and will definitely be back to try others. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive! She never failed to check on us which can sometimes happen when you sit outdoors. I really enjoyed this place and will be back. I didn't give 5 stars because it was just uncomfortably hot (for my friend and I!) inside and it was a bit loud. I also bet other dishes are even tastier and I'm looking forward to finding out! Add Kahlovera to your list!

Tired this place with my wife for Sunday lunch. Holy crap! My wife had the Huaraches with chicken and I had the fish tacos. The huaraches were INCREDIBLE. Will be back just because of that dish. Service was very good - waitress was attentive and manager came over to ask how we were and seemed genuinely interested. The ambiance is basic strip mall ish restaurant. It's very comfortable with tables appropriately spaced apart. I think this is a good casual date place or good for the family even with small kids. Absolutely will be back.

Stopped in for dinner. Loved the California Fish Tacos. Fish was fresh and crispy and paired well with the toppings. They brought some hot sauce which really took the tacos to the next level. Rice was the side and really liked the flavors. We also had the Fajitas. Not bad but not great. They forgot the shrimp and very mild and bland spices for the rest of the meat. Service was okay. A few mistakes like the wrong drinks and forgetting the shrimp, but they did correct any errors and were very nice about it. Great ambience and nice bright colorful walls. Worth checking out for the tacos!

I moved here a year ago from San Diego California. I honestly never thought I'd try after moving because all other places I've had in the east coast have really been utter letdowns. This place is the exception. The food is unreal. I go for the Hanover's burrito each time and it's amazing. The carne asada fries are very tasty as well. I just wish there was more of a nod and more of an education done into some southern Californian / Mexican staples. (I.e. actually knowing what a California burrito consists of and not guessing or making up. California burrito is carne asada, cheese, sour cream, and French fries yes French fries sometimes potatoes)

I've been here a few times and I've always had a great time! It's a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating located in Meadowmont. The food is pretty decent. I've ordered the ACP and chimichangas. The chimichanga was great and I'd definitely order it again. The chimichanga plus the side of rice and beans is a very generous portion. I usually have leftovers for the next day. Drinks wise, I've had their spicy margarita and house margarita. Both were pretty good and on the sweeter side (fyi in case you're not into sweet drinks). The spicy margarita was aesthetically pleasing and strong. I would consider this place my go-to for a Monday night since they have $5 house margaritas on Mondays! Otherwise, their drinks are approximately double the price. The service is fast and the waiters are always so friendly. Price wise, I'd expect to spend approximately $30 here if you plan to order a drink and entree. I've definitely seen more affordable Mexican restaurants, but I think this is comparable to other Mexican restaurants in this area.

I'm so glad we decided to stop by for the first time on a Margarita Monday. I ordered tacos (3 Carnitas) with a side of black beans and a lime margarita. The marg was super cheap and very tasty. Everything was well-seasoned, and it was so easy to finish the whole plate. Outdoor seating was very peaceful, and the service was really fast. I would definitely recommend it.

Server was very friendly and kind, EVERYTHING took forever, menus, ordered our drinks and it took 20 minutes. THE MANAGER IS A COMPLETE ASS. didnt give us our straws! there was a long hair in our food and he was questioning us assuming we put it in there and after some back and forth he said "oh it must be a customers hair" like what customer is going to the back serving or touching people's food?!?!?!?!? We felt very unwelcomed to be mexicans at a mexican restaurant. 40 mins to get our food!!!!!! gave the server $90 because I saw the manager yelling at him for everything but it was always the managers fault
