Came here before Hasan Minaj's comedy show at the smart financial center in sugar land.I ordered a roll that is actually off menu called the supreme roll. The roll was good but unfortunately the order took forever to be filled and it was almost 90 minutes before the roll came out.But to be fair, this may have been my fault for ordering an off menu item.Hopefully can come back here when it's less crowded!

I heard a lot about this restaurant from coworkers and friends in the sugar land area, so I was glad that I finally got to try it out! I went during the Tuesday lunch hour and it was pretty packed. I tried the lunch special, which had plenty of options but I chose the plaintains + nata cream and dumplings for appetizers and the sushi sampler for my entree. The plaintains were good/as expected but the nata cream was not at all what I expected. It tasted like watered down sour cream. I definitely did not like it. The dumplings and sauce, however, were very good. Everyone at the table ordered some and really enjoyed them. For the sushi sample, I had spicy salmon and the nigiri included. The spicy salmon was good, but the tuna on the nigiri didn't taste fresh or something was a little off. I couldn't put my finger on it but the taste was off. Overall this place reminded me a lot of RA sushi in a way. Not the decor or menu but the price and quality of sushi. I wouldn't mind coming for a lunch again!

I've been here twice. The first time was great! Good food and a good variety. Second time was good also as far as the service is concerned; however, the salmon on the skewer seemed to be a bit off. I chalked it up to just being an off day or bad piece that I unfortunately got. The ambiance is cool. I've only sat outside on nice days. I'll definitely give it another shot...

Was very pleased by the service at the sushi bar. Wide variety including Uni! Waiter was friendly and efficient. Great cocktail menu which is unusual for sushi or Mexican food joints

I love their Avocado Cream soup. It's mainly why I go. I've been coming for years and I've always liked their service and food. I hadn't been in quite a while. Now their outside tables are covered and their menu has grown. We tried the shrimp dumplings. That's new. They were ok. Avocado cream soup is still delicious. We tried 3 sushi rolls: Texans Roll, El Gecko and Austin Hippie. El Gecko is cooked, others are raw. El Gecko is one of my favorites but very filling, their slices are too thick. I always forget to ask them to cut them thinner. We had the sushi ice cream roll for dessert and that is always very delicious.

Vibe- This is another nice restaurant in Sugar Land Town Square by First Colony Mall. There's seating outside and plenty of seating inside (including a bar). Very nice ambiance; would be a nice date night spot ! Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a pomegranate margarita (4/5)and plantain chips (5/5 )during happy hour (everyday 3-6) and a vegan Sunkist roll(4/5); everything was good. Parking- There's a garage with free parking right by the restaurant!

Pretty good option in the area. We tried a number of things, including edamame, nigiri, and a variety of rolls. My only complaint is that it smelled like burning oil or propane in the space, likely from how they were cooking a few of their dishes; it was a bit unsavory.

Came into japanieros on Thursday and had a great dinner, it was the combination of food, ambiance, and amazing service. Our server Bri helped me pick the perfect roll and she was so insightful about the menu and all my options. The drinks were great and the food was even better, I'll definitely be coming back.
