I frequently visit this restaurant whenever I'm craving authentic, traditional Korean homemade soups and comforting dishes that evoke the flavors of home. There's something incredibly endearing about this place--its humble, unpretentious charm and the warm, welcoming atmosphere make you feel as if you're dining at a family member's home. The service here is also something special; it's reminiscent of the care and attention you'd receive from a beloved aunt, with staff who genuinely make you feel at ease.During our recent visit, we ordered the 우거지 해장국 (beef and cabbage hangover soup), paired with a bottle of Soju, setting the tone for a deeply meaningful evening. We were there to reflect on the memories of a close friend who had recently passed away. The rich, earthy flavors of the soup, with its tender beef and perfectly seasoned broth, brought us not only comfort but also a sense of togetherness as we shared stories, laughter, and emotions. The meal, coupled with the warm atmosphere, allowed us to indulge fully in both the food and our conversation, creating a poignant yet cathartic experience. Even though we were soaked from the rain outside, it only added to the mood as we savored each spoonful, almost as if the delicious, hearty food was helping to wash away our sorrows, if only for a brief moment. This restaurant continues to be a place where I not only enjoy delicious meals but also find solace and a sense of peace in the comforting atmosphere. It has become more than just a dining spot--it's a sanctuary for reflection and meaningful connections.

Hard to find but good food awaits when you do. Food: we tried several of their soups -I liked the bone broth soup, but it was a little bland, so I ended up adding some extra sauce for flavor. My friend liked the cabbage soup. The appetizers are tasty. -some spicier than others. My other friend said the Bebimbop was good. Service: Servers were very pleasant and were helpful with the menu. Location : Small storefront restaurant at one end of an extended strip-mall type shopping area. Lots of parking available. No outdoor seating. Facility: Small with few tables. They do have carry-out service.

still my favorite place for Korean soups. The hangover soup is always a go to but decided to try the yukejang and the spicy octopus! Yukejang was full of flavor and definitely warmed me up. They definitely don't skimp out on the shredded beef and other veggies. The spicy octopus flavor wise was also nice, not overly spicy and full of aromatics. Not as much as octopus as I would have liked but still good

Nice Korean restaurant in Duluth. One of the more authentic ones in the area. Service was very good. We ordered Mackerel with soybean paste stew and Pork wraps (보쌈) which costs $36.99, but is worth it. They served us the side dishes 5 minutes later, bringing out the japchae first, then all the rest of the side dishes. They were all tasty and the servers asked us a couple of times if we wanted more. About ten minutes later, we received our main dishes. The mackerel was well cooked and went well with the soybean paste stew. The plate of pork wraps was quite large, and had a great presentation. Plenty of boiled pork thinly sliced. Mostly very good and a few slices that were on the dry, chewy side. Overall, not bad.

Very good and plentiful. Bi Bim Bop was excellent. The chicken soup was too spicy and difficult to remove bones.

This is the definition of hole-in-the-wall. It's kind of hard to find since it's situated away from the more populated area. It was kind of difficult to figure out what to order, but we got two items. 1) Hangover Soup (8/10): we've never had Korean hangover soup so there's no benchmark, but by it pure flavor it was really good. It's mainly cabbage with some meat pieces. The broth is very flavorful and you can taste the beef flavor. 2) Premium Oxtail Soup (9/10): I have actually recently tried a different place with this dish, but this is much better. You can actually taste the beef flavor in the soup rather than having to add too much salt and pepper (you still have to for your taste but not as much as the other place). I personally like cartilage and tendon more than regular meat, so I chose the premium. But if you're indifferent, then the regular oxtail soup will be fine. The size for deluxe is also bigger than the hangover soup, but not sure what the regular oxtail soup size is. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite Korean soup place now in Duluth area. It was really filling even though it's just soup. The side dishes were good although the kimchi was slightly too soft for our taste, but we got second servings of the bean sprouts and potatoes!

I returned and tried the Sullungtang, which is bone soup with beef. They packaged it up perfectly, and I easily got 2 meals out of it. It comes with noodles, green onions, rice, and wasabi soy sauce for dipping the meat. I was surprised to see not only a lot of meat, but what i believe is knee bone which is super delicious. There was plenty of that as well. Pro tip - ask for hot sauce (dadegi) because it kicks it up a notch! The second soup I ordered was Haejangguk (hangover soup) which was pretty standard, lots of cabbage and not a lot of meat, but it was tasty and did the job. 2 meals out of that too.We also got the yukgejang (spicy beef soup with green onion and egg) which was standardly delicious, as well as a plate of soondae, which was pretty standard. It's my opinion that they do everything well even though they might not do anything out of this world. I would order anything off their menu with confidence.

Like other yelpers have mentioned, this restaurant is tucked away in the ?back of strip mall on the first floor just by the stairs. The windows are tinted and therefore it is hard to know what you'll walk into. I had been told previously that this is the place that "older" "traditional" Duluth Koreans go and was therefore not surprised by the lack of yelp reviews of this restaurant. First off, Alyssa and I thought the traditional decor of the restaurant was really nice! Not sure why they wanted to hide it behind tinted windows. The restaurant was very clean and many of the seating areas were separate booths. The staff was very attentive the moment we walked in and we were handed menus with cups of tea. They spoke limited English.Alyssa ordered the Deluxe ox bone soup which had a great traditional, comforting flavor. There are pieces of cartilage which we appreciated but others might not! The strips of included meat which were not ox were overcooked and borderline dry. It does NOT come salted (which is typical). There is salt and soy sauce to add to your liking. I ordered the Hangover soup which had just a little bit of spice/heat, a little bit of meat (beef ribs?) and a lot of napa cabbage (yum!). I would have preferred more meat but I thought the flavors were fantastic. All the soups come with a side of rice.Given that we had less food than we thought, we also ordered the galbi (grilled beef ribs). It thought this was some of the best galbi I've had- I don't like it too sweet and this version of it was just right. It was unfortunately one of the most expensive things on the menu (+$20).The banchan at Jang won Jung is good but nothing to write home about. They offer 5-6 items. The waitress stopped by once to refill the dishes that we finished.Overall, we enjoyed our late lunch here and I thought it was worth driving 30 minutes to try it out. I do not think I would choose this as the first place to take out of town friends or family.

Place smelled like rotten sweat socks. I think it's the rags they use to wipe the tables. Lost my appetite walking in.
