Jacalito Mexican Restaurant

Not only are the tacos gross! but the owner / manager is a dick!! I was next door picking up some slices at miami slice I was like maybe I should try this place next door while I'm here trying the overrated mediocre pizza.. there was a big line and long wait for tables next door. So I went to the taco bar. It was complexly empty literally 20 empty tables and one person at the bar. I ordered my tacos and while I waited I had my slice you this a taco stand not fine dining. Anyway the owner yelled me told me that no eats pizza at his restaurant. Literally no one eats anything at his restaurant!! Anyway I got 3 tacos the Al pastor tasted spoiled only had a bight steak was okay. He's such a dumb shit miami slice is trending he could fill his empty shitty restaurant with pizza people and offer them drinks. Anyway avoid this shit hole like the plague. Hopefully I don't have a stomach ache!!

Came with a friend for an early dinner as I've never tried this location. it sits in a corner street with semi complicated parking as it is street parking which is always a gamble. Once we did find parking, we sat outside where a waitress came with menus and took our drinks orders. We opted for a round of Margaritas.The Margaritas were good but not good enough where I would order a second one. I got the Carne Asada platter which came with yellow rice, refried beans, carne Asada, vegetables and tortillas. The meal was big enough to split into 2 which I love because for the price, it's worth it.Music playing from the inside loud enough to hear outside which is always a vibe. This is great for after work drinks and bites as that's what I noticed as I sat there, more people came in work clothes to grab a drink or beer.

*Takeout review*. Miami has a lot of spots for tacos but always had an issue finding them CORRECTLY made (which is with a little cilantro and sprinkle of onion.) This is my favorite spot for tacos because they are always exactly how I like them and delivery comes super fast. No complaints

The idea of good Mexican food in Miami is a sirens song. Luring in unsuspecting hungry Latinos. But at the very end showing its true form of bland ingredients and broken wallets. Jacalito is unfortunately just another one of those sirens. "But they have happy hour!" They will say. But even the wait staff know the happy hour will give you portions so small that they make you sad. My partner and I decided to get a couple of full dinner plate burritos. They came with nothing on the side except the complimentary chips and salsa. The burritos were not good. After we got over our first couple hunger driven bites of bliss the curtain lifted and we were met with what we were actually holding in our hands. Another sad bland burrito.Maybe it didn't help that we ordered veggie burritos. But I think the combination of rice and vegetables with a little cheese and a a spec of Costco guacamole, would have done better with less. A simple bean and cheese would have sufficed. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant as an after work dinner. The space is nice and the patio is good but the food is lacking. Maybe I should come back to get smashed on cheap margs and update my review. But until then I bid Jacalito farewell.

Nice people and fun ambiance but the food was a big miss. We were quickly seated on their patio. It's a fun environment and there's plenty of room. Food came out slowly but service was otherwise very good. Our server was really nice and quite helpful.We asked what was in the vegetarian burrito and were told it was basically a bean and cheese. We paid extra for guacamole and waited. When it came out, it wasn't at all as described. No beans, no guac, and a bunch of sauteed vegetables (which are never good in a burrito - I don't know why restaurants do this). Didn't get any of what we wanted and the burrito was very small for the price, plus it just wasn't good.They have a good happy hour so would maybe come back for drinks. Def not for food.

Cute Mexicanish spot with every day happy hour specials (chipotle wing Tuesdays!!!!). The horchata was creamy and spiced well, and the tortillas and house salsa were fantastic. Outdoor seating is fun and parking is available in the street. The service was not overly fast ;) but was really nice (especially when we had to split our check for expense sheets).

I've been here a few times and I've had a great experience each time. The chips they bring out first are fresh out of the frier and the red salsa that comes with it is a bit spicy but flavorful. I asked for hotter sauce and I was given a green sauce that tasted so fresh and almost minty flavored. I've had the alambre and the botana boracha and both had tender meats and fresh peppers and accompaniments. Sitting on the patio is nice in the evening with a breeze and isn't too loud to have good conversation. Service is fast and speaking Spanish is definitely a plus here. I will definitely return.

Got delivery from here. The food did not disappoint, and I was pretty happy with the amount of food I got. It was a buy one get one deal on Uber Eats, so it made it an insane value. Two days worth of food haha. Just a note that you should def eat there or pick up yourself, as the pricing on any delivery platform will account for the incremental fee that the delivery platform charges. Not my favorite, but I totally understand them not being able to eat a 30% hit to margins. Tacos - I did carnitas, al pastor, and the adobada. They were all great - they included two different types of salsa in the delivery order. A rojo and a verde. Pork trio, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all. My husband really liked the burrito. They were generous with the meat. I thought this was good but I didn't feel crazy. I definitely would return, and I probably would make my way over to eat in person.

Jose is amazing and we had the best experience here! We enjoyed their $1.99 taco Wednesday after a long hard working day at the Miami boat show. Our server was Emily super sweet and very accommodating. Thank you so much happy Valentine's Day I recommend steak deliciousness

Jose and his crew were a lot of fun! The food was yummy and the margaritas were the perfect end to our day 1 of miami boat show madness. I came with my team and we definitely will be back. Thank you Jose for being a great host and big thank you to our server Emily. She was wonderful
