We really wanted to love this place, but it just didn't live up to our expectations. Maybe I was mislead, but I thought that a place that specializes in mac and cheese would have some 10/10 mac and cheese. If I had to give it a number rating, I'd say maybe 5/10. The concept is cool! I was excited about the build your own mac and cheese and added all of my favorite things like chicken and mushroom and pickles. The taste of those items in itself were nice. I liked the macaroni noodle shape, but the cheese just wasn't that cheesy. Our biggest complaint was that it came out steaming hot, right out of the oven, but was lukewarm or even cold after about 5 minutes of eating. The tater tots were probably my favorite thing about the experience, but they weren't anything special either. For $13.99 for the bowl alone, and $17.99 if you add a side and a drink (keep in mind there were not many tater tots there), I don't feel like it's worth it. That aside, the service was quick and helpful, so we did at least enjoy our time there. Maybe if you're wanting to take your kids somewhere fun this would be a good option, but I've personally had a lot better mac and cheese even at a place like Chick Fil A.

This is not an easy review to write. I really wanted to like the restaurant, but the customer service since they opened has not been great.I was one of the lucky people in line for the Grand Opening events for this new and exciting Mac & Cheese restaurant in Raleigh. The first 25 people in line get a free Mac & Cheese every week for a year. Some people were in line for hours to score this awesome prize/reward. It was communicated to all "winners" that the free item was the Classic Mac & Cheese ($9.95), but you could pay the difference to upgrade to any of the various fun options ($13.95-23.95) the restaurant offers which is usually about $4 + tax (except for the Lobster upgrade). IMO this is quite reasonable to add protein and more flavor to a very basic bowl of pasta and cheese. During my first visit, I opted for the Chicken Parm to go; it was pretty good and definitely intriguing. On my second visit, I opted to try the Short Rib Philly Mac & Cheese. On my third visit to the store, I was excited to try the Skinny Sweet & Spicy Bowl as a potentially healthier option. Unfortunately, after ordering with another friend who had also "won" the free Mac & Cheese for a year, we were told they would no longer be offering the upgrade with additional fee to the "better" bowls. The story we were told is that someone who had also earned the free year "abused" the privilege by complaining about the lobster not tasting fresh, so the store comped their food and another bowl. While I don't want to point out the obvious, you don't go to a Mac & Cheese restaurant and think you are getting high quality fresh Lobster for $24 (as the lobster is likely not frequently ordered). I think the food is OK/Good. It's not spectacular, but definitely not terrible. I do find it interesting that the pasta is actually not Macaroni, it's Cavatappi (which I prefer). The cheese itself is not very flavorful, but adding the bread crumbs and melted sliced cheese vs. the liquid cheese sauce that is part of every bowl. I have not tried the Grilled Cheese offerings as those were not included in the free for a year promo, but I will likely try them at some point. The owners are very nice and I want them to succeed, but I am truly disappointed they are going back on their word to the "winners" of the free for a year promo and not allowing them to upgrade (at a cost) to better options. I take mine to go each time, so there is no risk of me complaining about my dish. I just want to try the various offerings at this new establishment.

We stopped by and ordered two mac & cheese bowls and a grilled cheese for the kids. Super excited to try this place out as I know it's a new concept. That's now hitting the area.. Great location with lots of cars passing by. Ample parking and it's free. The staff was very kind. The manager did a great job managing her team. They had a nice traffic flow of customers and we're getting us in and out in a timely fashion. I spent over $30 for my three items, and I'd say it was well worth it. I watched the team construct fresh items for me and my family. Nice decor, great vibe, excellent food and Gray service. We look forward to coming back.

We found this place on TikTok. We were super excited about it. I ordered the chicken Parm mac & cheese and my ex-husband ordered the lobster and white truffle mac & cheese. The lobster and white truffle mac & cheese was $30, mine was just under $17. When we opened up that lobster and white truffle mac & cheese we were immediately disappointed. The flavor, the meat, the lack of everything. Chicken Parm mac & cheese was really good but for the $30 lobster Mac, we are extremely upset about. We won't be returning just because of that.

This is our second visit, first visit was great all of the food was good well cooked high prices though. Ordering is a bit of a process that should be streamlined. Second visit will be the last the food was subpar at best super expensive and did not even receive what I ordered correctly. I didn't complain my choice I am sure they would have fixed it. All three have been sick since we ate there , I will be calling them to fyi on possible food poisoning.

I did not want to write this review. I actually got the food yesterday and was so disappointed that I just had to leave a review. I went at lunch time. Ordered ahead. I've eaten here two times before (both times were good). This most recent visit was horrible. The food was EXTREMELY under cooked. I got the chicken parm flatbread. There were 2people working one male one female and no one in line. The male made the order and it was terrible. The chicken looked like it was out the fridge and the cheese looked and tasted like a cheese pizza from an elementary school cafeteria. He should never be allowed to make the food unsupervised again and perhaps should go back through training. I hope someone in charge reads this review and reassesses his capabilities. The food was horrible. I'll even attach a photo of how it looked the next day. You can see that it was undercooked

Presentation was cute. Soup was super. Mqc and cheese bites were yummy (but small portions). Mac and Cheese as the kids would say... was "mid". They take a long time to bring food and we had to send it back to have them warm it up. Save your $. We really wanted to like this place, too. The one positive was that the staff was extremely friendly.

I was excited to try but left disappointed. Expensive average sandwiches. Flatbread pepperoni pizza was not worth eating per my son and he didn't eat it. Looked nothing like the picture and had a 6 slices of pepperoni $12. Mac and cheese balls were cold so were the tot. The smoke haze was intense. $60 for lunch for three was way too much.

I placed a pickup order. Their website ordering system has some bugs, so I had to confirm a choice both over the phone and in person. The people that I interacted with were all great, and the interior was clean and inviting although there was not a whole lot of seating. The food was very ok. There are a lot of options, but it didn't really seem much better than nice boxed Mac and cheese from a store. We didn't try any grilled cheese. ~$15 per bowl of mac and cheese after tax seems on the high side, but I like supporting new businesses. My biggest issue is that the website allows specifying a pickup time and it appeared that they started on the prep when it was supposed to be ready. I don't know if this is yet another bug, or if they got hit by an unexpected rush, but I had to stand around for 20 minutes. Also, there were several menu options that they didn't have the ingredients to actually prepare. What's the point of allowing people to order online if you can't get their food ready as ordered at the promised time?
