HS Chinese Cafe

Wow! We decided to try HS because we live right by it and we are so glad we did. The flavor and quality of food was great! We got the Pepper Steak meal, and Triple Delight with Garlic Sauce entree, adding an order of egg rolls. My husband said they gave him a lot of beef with his combo meal and that he enjoyed the hot and sour soup. My triple delight was spicy, but busy the right amount. Their egg rolls may be some of the best I've had. They even provided a container of sweet and sour sauce to go with them. Most places just throw in packets. I especially loved that I was able to go through the Drive-Thru to pick up my To-Go order! We look forward to returning and trying other dishes. Nice job, HS!

Diamond in the rough!! Wow, talk about a great place to grab either lunch or dinner - and at bargain prices!! HS is a consistently good experience. The food is excellent, service is outstanding and fast! The young man who takes my order - afternoon and evening - is a super nice person.If you haven't tried HS, you are missing out!!

Food was good. We ordered general tso chicken combo and shrimp fried rice. My only issue was that I don't think I actually got General tso because it tasted different than the traditional flavor, it was missing broccoli and it had jalapeños in it. It was still very tasty but it wasn't what I was expecting. The fried rice was good as well and was a large portion; however the shrimp was tempura fried. It wasn't crispy when we actually ate it due to the temperature of the food. It was large pieces which was great, but definitely unordinary. Other things: I enjoyed the drive thru option and the price point was great for the amount of food. Egg roll was good. Wonton soup had a weird taste. I would try it again though.

Today was my 2nd time picking up food from HS. I found this place on YELP and was not disappointed. I called in an order for pickup around 115 and was advised by a pleasant gentleman, that my food would be ready in 10-15 mins. I arrived a few mins early and to my surprise my order was already prepared. I ordered from the lunch menu, shrimp with vegetables the vegetables were very fresh, and not overcooked. The dish was very tasty. I'll be back again.

Lots of options and fast delivery. Plenty of food at great prices. We order the usual staples and have not been disappointed. They do have a large menu that has more than Chinese food. Good egg rolls, old school style.

This is a hidden gem! We came here for a quick lunch while in the area and the service was great. They have affordable lunch specials and you can eat there or to go. Even though it's not a full service sit dow restaurant, we were treated so courteously by the woman who took our order. There are a few tables to sit at if you want to enjoy your food then and there but seems like most people order carry out. The food came out fast and the portions were good! I loved the freshness of the ingredients - the hot and sour soup had real mushrooms, and spring roll had very fresh cabbage and carrots, the chicken had so much flavor and crunch, and the eggplant was delicious. I was impressed by the quality of the food at this unassuming establishment - you can tell they take pride in fresh and well cooked dishes. I will definitely be coming back and recommend you check them out!

This was our first visit for dining in. They are geared for to go orders more than dining in. All the food came to the table in to go containers and the cutlery was very flimsy plastic. The wonton soup came in small plastic bowls. My wife aand I both got combination meals. The meals came with a choice of spring roll or egg roll, both of us chose egg rolls, they were pretty good. We both chose wonton soup, also good. One of us got steamed rice and one got fried rice, average. My wife did not like her moo goo gai pan, chicken was flavorless and fatty. I liked my slightly chewy General Tso's chicken, I had a hard time cutting the chicken into smaller pieces with the flimsy silverware.

Good food Affordable CleanGeneral Tao was different but very tasty although despite the sliced jalapeños, not that spicy but it did have nice big pieces of white meat chicken. Won ton was simple, wished it had two dumplings for lunch. The dumplings were very meaty and good flavor. Eggrolls were not impressive, but I make homemade ones that are amazing so I'm hard to please on Eggrolls. I ordered the pad Thai, it was delicious, not overly spicy but excellent flavor.

one of the best local restaurants in houston! awesome food, service, and a cute restaurant. the employees are always so sweet and courteous, and service is speedy. everything ive eaten here is delicious! 10/10 would recommend

I ordered a shrimp & broccoli well done , spicy wit extra sauce. I was delivered under cooked shrimp, no sauce at all literally was in the bowl it self. I stay 6 mins away from the place and it took over a hour for just a few item.
