Lotus Seafood & Wings

Maybe it's me. Maybe I just do not understand the mystique surrounding this place.I saw so many people coming in and out of this place, so maybe I expected more than they could truly deliver...I'll make this review straightforward:This is an establishment that will put spice on their food. Everyone told me to visit this place and get the "loud pack," so I headed there with those intentions. I figured I'm there, so why not get the fully loaded loud pack that will also give you corn, potato, sausage and boiled egg. Fyi, that's singular usage because you do get 1 of each. This $21 plate is decently boiled shrimp on top of a combination fried rice, with the aforementioned ingredients above. Price to portion size is way off. What's most disappointing for a flavor seeker like myself, this was just a slightly spicy food item. There was no flavor to it all. The crack sauce was underwhelming as well. It's just a butter sauce. If you want decently prepared food that will give you a little spice/heat kick while you eat it, then this is your place. If you are looking for flavor in your food, you may want to skip this place. The lemon pepper wings were average to me as well. Maybe it's me. Maybe I just don't get this place.They even told me I would get a lot of food. That's a standard sized to go Styrofoam compartment container...filling that with rice is not a lot of food. Maybe it's me...

I ordered the loud pack and shrimp was not cleaned. I also ordered hot honey chicken wings, and requested that they made them extra crispy. They came out soft and soggy. This was my first and last time getting food at lotus. Food was not only flavorless it was unsanitary. Never again.

Maybe I just came on a bad day but the quality of lotus has declined over the years! I usually order a loud pack, extra 13 shrimp, and couple extra crack sauce packets. Pro-tip- Happy Hour Monday-Friday 2p-6p: 25 boiled shrimps +1 corn+1 potato for $10 & tax.

It's just a good seafood boil. I love the happy hour special with a pound of shrimp with one corn and potato for 10bucks. It's a great deal. Service is quick and food is seasoned well. I get a level medium for spice and I always add two crack sauces.

Roaches is a big no for me. Clean your bathrooms and vents. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to try you again. Not going to post any photos cause it could mess up your business. Respectfully just clean it up. Thanks

The crawfish was really good as always but, the butter sauce was very salty. The butter sauce is a hit and miss, you can tell the difference by who makes it as the color is always darker when it is salty and lighter when it is just right. Usually the red head girl is there, I think her name is yanet, but when she is there the butter sauce is usually pretty good.

I love so much to seafood in there I love going in the happy hours Berlin pepper wings are so good the fries don't get me started with the fries there are good seasoning. Everything is only perfect label of cook and if it was hard, they never get my order wrong and I love that.

Don't get me wrong, lotus seafood will always be a delicious choice. However compared to other locations, I find this location not meeting the usual high expectations I have for this local chain. Usually I come to lotus for their amazing seafood options. Although the meal was still tasty, I find the flavors and quality of the seafood broils here to be slightly off from others. Now in contrast, this location had the best fried rice out of all locations I have previously tried. Just depends on your mood and tastebuds. The wait for the food was fairly short and was able to receive my Togo order with very minimal wait time. Not the largest venue, but definitely has amble seating.

The most frustrating thing about this place is that they refuse to answer their phones. Causing you to place a walk in order which takes 45mins. The food is good, but the kirkwood location is significantly better in service and food.

I got the catfish oyster and shrimp platter. Honestly it's the WORST catfish I've had in my life and I've had some nasty ass catfish before but this tops it.
