"There was nobody at the door to welcome me. I felt very lied to. False advertising. Not my favourite grocery store along Bellaire, but there are five or six of them, so talk about competition. One after another between each major intersection from the 59 all the way out to Belt 8, it seems like. And then more beyond Belt 8.I appreciate the presence of all of them and won't give any of them less than four stars even though the modern fancy ones clearly have a lot more stuff and are a lot cleaner than the others. And this is one of the smaller older ones. Now speaking of smaller and older, how about a sympathy make out session with me?"
"So you felt scared for your life when you came here.Did you Daido?Absolutely amazing stuff here at this little Asian supermarket that a lot of people don't even know about. They have some wonderful pastries and baked items and it's actually one of my favorite little secret hidden gems around here."
"Came by after eating at Shiv Sagar since the market is in the same shopping center. Bought a couple of kulfi as it was hot in Houston. Lots of fresh produce and prices seem reasonable. Plenty of parking and right off 59 in the Ghandi District. Love those marsala smell!"
"We were getting a faloodah at Agha Juice across the street and the friend my sister and I were introducing to the Mahatma Gandhi District was interested in visiting a grocery store in the area. Well, we walked out and we saw the name of this place and it was a sign. We drove the short distance and had a fun time trying to find a parking spot. We ended up finding one around the back of the shopping center where all the back doors for the employees were. As a note, there was a shopping cart lying snack dab in the middle of the road of the parking lot. Major negative points for that. When we left the store, a lady who was backing out of her spot accidentally hit it with her car; we ended up dragging it out of the way so she could back out without getting out of the car to remove it herself. Back to the store! It's a pretty good size and I was excited. I usually go to another Indo-Pak store so I was curious to see what other stores offered. It was a little more crowded, perhaps because we were there in the middle of the day (most of my grocery runs are at night). The store's cleanliness was okay. They had a fairly decent selection of foods but I noted that they had a distinct lack of vegetarian - Jain vegetarian in particular - choices. This saddened me since we're vegetarian but don't eat onion and garlic, so that meant we couldn't eat most of the food. Their flours and spice choices were fine, but not the best. They had a good amount of snacks as well. There was a booth giving out samples of some snacks, which we were offered despite being the only non-south Asian people there. Yay! I also liked the small section in the back that sold various wares for cooking/serving. Despite it all, it wasn't my most favorite grocery store, perhaps due to the lack of variety of food I could eat (where are my Jain samosas?). Although it is a good size, it isn't the largest and it seemed like the aisles were closer together, giving it a comparatively more cramped feeling. This also meant that though they had a decent variety of stuff, it wasn't as extensive as my usual store. Other than the two people giving out samples (I'm sure they were sent by the company and not employees of the store), we didn't have any other interaction with the store's employees. It was okay, but I probably wouldn't stop by again, especially with the state of the parking lot. However, it is somewhat convenient to get back on 59 - just go out the back past the Whataburger onto the feeder road. This is awesome if you don't want to get on crowded Hillcroft and to save some time."
"Tucked away in a small shopping center, this is a great place. It's initially a smaller footprint store, but they are expanding. Nước Mía (sugarcane drink). Let's start with the rare gem. This you MUST get. The flavor of their drink is what you would get in Vietnam. So if you're missing home, this will get you a little closer. There is a small selection of rotating ready made foods which all have been great flavor and quality. (We've been here for quite a few rotations)This is locally owned so you will meet with the owners there. Very kind and attentive folks. Grocery selection has the standard (and very appreciate standard) of Vietnamese staples. What caught my eye is on the end cap by the front has some very classic and nostalgic games for home. One immediately took me back to my childhood. Parking is tough in this narrow lot, but well worth a visit. We went in the morning last time when the other businesses had not started to occupy the lot, and it was great"
"If I could give Elyon 7 stars I would! My first time in, I ordered Egusi with chicken and pounded yam. It's was UH MAZE ZING! My only complaint would be that I only got one piece of chicken. Overall, the flavor was on point, the chicken was tender, the soup was SPICY like I like it, and the fufu was hittin just right! This time (my second time in two weeks) I got okra soup with chicken and honeyyyyyyyyyy, the chef put their foot in this stew yall! The consistency is so gelatinous, the flavors are rounded out with just enough smoke and heat! Baybeeee, even my four year old niece was trying to beat me to the bottom of the bowl! She needed some sips of water, to cool the heat, but she gave me two thumbs up!"
"If you are considering coming here, you should Jusgo. If they sold all their juice, you'll be like - where did the Juicego? If the juxtaposition of Asian groceries in Texas no longer surprises you, you'll be like, where did the Juxgo? And if the girl with the amazing boobies (my girl perhaps) disappears around the back of the store (with me hopefully, but probably with a taller boy), you'll be like, where did the Jugsgo? There are two awesome Asian grocery stores side by side here now, on Hwy 6 in Missouri City/Sugar Land, and both of them are excellent, although there are better ones in town such as the 99 Ranch on I-10 in Spring Branch. You can find food in here and a bakery and various delights. Its been remodeled recently and has lots of car doors full of shops and whatnot. That was supposed to say corridors, but car doors sounds more intriguing. It's really quite interesting and very well done. Having said that there are some things about it that could be better, and it's been pretty dead (for the extra businesses inside) during Corona. On the one hand I don't like supermarkets but on the other hand I like this one. That's quite a Jusgtaposition."
"Close to Kerala Kitchen(recommended). A good place to find more brands than many indian grocers and its well laid out and not hard to explore on a well spaced out floor plan. Recommend."
"Review 10!The other day after having dessert around here i noticed this place and was curious to check it out. My family always goes to Chinese stores whenever they need everyday foods like vegetables and stuff, and I wanted to see other groceries other than the typical American ones and the Chinese ones we frequent so I decided to look around this Indian Grocery. It's pretty hidden from view and I only found this place when driving back from an ice cream shop. I've actually been to a couple Indian groceries already but this one is unique to the area due to the fact that there is also a small restaurant inside too! I only ordered a sweet lassi this time but it was good so I may be back to get other things. The market itself is ok. The aisles are kind of small and hard for me to get around but the service was very friendly. You can probably find some desi goods here that can't be found in other stores (maybe). It's not the closest Indian market to me, but maybe I could come back for the restaurant."
"This place has the freshest produce, seafood and meats. When you step into HongKong market, it's like you've been transported to a land far, far away. The smells and textures leave you in amazement! Their fruits and veggies are exotic, excellent for those hard to find items. I am fascinated by the packaging. This go-round I bought two different types of jelly in a cup, wasabi chips and the drink that comes in a glass bottle that has a glass marble inside! (Don't worry, you won't choke on it.) It's very trendy. At the check out counter they had fresh orchids, some of the biggest I've seen. This is definitely one of my favorites!"
"Brand spanking new grocery store. Super clean. Well organized. With some grocery stores in this area looking like an empty warehouse due to supple chain issues these days, it was refreshing to see full shelves! New complex. Plenty of parking. 9am to 9pm everyday. Got my jaggery powder from this place! Very nice people! Give them a try!"

My go-to for Chinese groceries. Welcome definitely caters to Chinese customers which means they have many things that cannot be found at an HEB (however amazing) that someone who is looking for authentic Chinese food is can find. The product aisle is always reliable with fresh selections of vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, and things even I haven't eaten. I can always reliably find Asian eggplants, taro, celtuce, and more.Their meat counter is excellent and includes cutting the meat for you. My favorite thing to get are leaner pork bellies for Shanghai-style pork belly. There's a deli on the far left that sells roast meats, including duck and pork. Everything there is delicious. They have many styles of noodles common to China stored as refrigerated bags so they're easy to cook at home. The frozen aisles down the middle are treasure troves: dim sum and buns that can be steamed at home, the newly popular brown sugar boba bars, sliced lamb for hot pot.So many sauces used in Asian cuisine. You might even get to choose your exact grand. I stock up on my pantry whenever I make the trip to Welcome.

Daido is my current go-to when I want to grab some fresh sashimi. They have an amazing variety of choices there. Last time I was in the area, I picked up Scottish salmon, yellowtail, and amberjack. The salmon was so buttery and delicious. The yellowtail had just the right amount of fat and practically dissolved in my mouth. They also carry tons of snacks and other Japanese goods. Stop by- you won't be disappointed!Ask the cashier for a reward stamp card so you can accumulate credit toward a discount!

This store is a total delight.Every time I have sought out an ingredient, I have had no trouble finding it here. A really great selection, and super clean.I can't say it is easy to find things, but I am not familiar with the items I'm shopping for often, but I always end up finding what I am looking for.On a recent trip, I was offered unsolicited help, and it made my shopping so much easier.Yeah the carts are in the parking lot, to the person who complained about that, must have never been to a parking lot. They have carts in the parking lot, what a silly thing to complain about.

Love seeing more Vietnamese grocery stores in the area. Has everything you need in terms of produce and Vietnamese pantry staples. You can even buy ready to eat meals such as bun bo hue, banh canh, pha lau etc. Not only that... they serve sugarcane juice! (Nuoc Mia) Very refreshing and good price! The parking lot is a bit small but I've never had a problem finding spots.

Authentic homemade Yaruba food. Fresh, tasty... a treasure. No need to drive to Katy and Sugarland anymore. I had egusi soup with chicken and beef and fufu. Wish I had more protein but it was still delicious and spicy. Also ordered jolof rice with goat and pepe soup with fish. Mouth watering! Flavors are amazing!

I've been to Jusgo enough times just to get my dim sum fix at the Joy dim sum restaurant inside. But, there are many good things about Jusgo: - The produce is fresh. If you like Chinese veggies, like yeow choy, bok choy, or gai lan, then get them here.- They have a lot of other food items essential to the Chinese pantry, such tofu, pickled radish, sriracha, edamame, soy sauce, rice wine, dumpling wrappers, spring roll wrappers, rice noodles, bags of rice, etc- They have fresh seafood and poultry - They have fun snacks and drinks that you can try or restock on if you like it: Vietnamese coffee packets, cafe du monde coffee, many different tea packets, a variety of instant ramen, interesting salty snacks like fried peas, and even Korean spicy ramen flavored chips (I tried this one. It was ok), cookies, crackers, etc. - For people who want to try eastern medicine, they have a shelf of various remedies to try. I have a few go to medicines that I think are good for the common cold or flu, and even to lessen heat if you're eating too much hot foods. Just google hot and cold type of foods, and you'll know what I mean. - They have several restaurants inside the grocery store to get takeout food while you go grocery shopping. For this and many other reasons that I haven't thought of yet, Jusgo is one of the best Asian grocery stores to get mostly everything I need in one spot.
Visit Restaurant Page"Wait...this is a grocery store with a kitchen area inside! Really wait, this is a meat market as well! I actually watched them cut up the meat that they are packaging in the store. They say that their chicken is grass fed and raised with no extra stuff in it, so I am looking forward to trying a chicken product from them. The place is surprisingly big inside and offer a huge variety of imported items. There are samples available throughout the store & a wide variety of items to serve, presumably, the Middle Eastern tummy! Plenty of imported goods are through the store which included drinks with Arabic writing on them. They sell mixed olives by the pound, which I saw several people excited about that. They also sell baklava and other types of candies that are common in the Middle East. I saw different types of imported lentils, rice and other goods that must be a true taste of home for those from that region.I am sure no one wants to here about that stuff though. I was really in the mood for a gyro, so I ordered a reasonably priced gyro with fries. Before I left with my to-go order, I was given a sample of hummus. This is the second best hummus that I have tasted. Read past reviews to see who I think is the first! Fries were fried well and seasoned well. They only gave me a slight handful, but I will not trip on that. The gyro itself had pretty presentation...was put together well...looked tasty...however you choose to say that it looked as though it should taste good! It was a good size, so I knew I would be content after eating it. The produce on the gyro was fresh and you could tell that my gyro was freshly made. I am not certain if the meat itself was seasoned to awesomeness, but I know the sauce they gave me to put on the gyro was yum mixed with I wished I had more of it! I enjoyed every bite of my gyro, and made sure to wipe the inside of the sauce container with my last bite of gyro. From the previous reviews, I need to try a chicken shawarwma (Not sure if that is spelled correctly) as well. I am looking forward to giving this business another try at impressing me. They are off to a good start."
"They offer groceries, full service butcher and a small attached restaurant where you can dine-in and/or take out. I mostly go there for their butcher shop. So, my review is only for their full service halal butcher shop. They have mutton, lamb, beef, chicken etc. They have good quality meat at a decent rate. They have packed meats at the racks. I usually enter the butcher shop and request them according to my liking. For mutton, I ask them either a shoulder or a leg piece and request them to cut into small cubes. They are not very good at English but they have so far fulfilled my request. They are good at their job. They also have packed whole chicken cut into cubes. I don't really shop here for their groceries nor have tried their restaurant yet. However, for their meat and butcher service I'd give them a 5/5."
"I prefer the Hung Dong Food Market, but this is a family friendly website so let's skip that one.I was in the supermarket a few times and thought it was really cool that it was way down here past Gulfgate heading Southeast out of Houston in an area that you don't really associate with Chinatown. So if it's long gone then I will be kind of sad about that.I was just here recently and took this picture so I'm not so sure but I'll check next time I go to Bamboo or whatever."
"My go to grocery store for all things indian Pakistani food, spices and cooking related. If you go anywhere else, you're paying more for convenience. Parking is plenty. Cashiers are nice and plenty most days as well. I think I buy their entire supply of chai and biscuits alone. Been coming here for over a decade."
"Great market to find regional foods and products. Fresh produce section is pretty good. They also have a deli area with homemade dishes for take out."
"*Located inside Hong Kong City Mall. This place blew me away. I've been shopping at Asian grocery stores like 99Ranch and HMart for years but this felt like another level. Amazing variety here with a lot of products I wasn't familiar with. Btw, this place appears to be Vietnamese, not sure why it's called Hong Kong.Lots to explore here so carve out ample time. Great produce section, fish, meat, desserts, kitchenware (we bought some cool dragon bowls made in Japan), and so much more.VEGANS: Definitely not a vegan haven overall since they sell entire pig heads and bull penises (see photos) however they have a robust vegan food section. Frozen vegan lobster, shrimp, pork belly, fish, beef, and more (see photo). I'll definitely be back, particularly to stock up on snacks (mostly dried fish as well as my favorite shiitake mushroom crisps)."
"Located in a very busy plaza, this is a relatively new Vietnamese market. It looks clean inside, well stocked and organized. Fruits are located right at the door. They have variety kinds of fruits. On the left handside is where all the ready togo/fast food/ kitchen is. Not the best food but it's decent. Veggies and all kinds are in the far back left. Meat is on the far back right. Not as big as Viet Hoa but they do have some basic meat there. What I love here is all the snacks shelves. They have some imported from Thailand which is right at my speed lol! They also have a snack shelf near the registers/ cashiers. Haven't encountered any negative customer service at the register yet and hope there will be none in the future lol bur by far I really like shopping for groceries here!!"
"Seafood City is much more than a grocery store... it's Filipino heaven on earth, right here in the heart of Sugar Land. The whole market is filled to the brim with snacks from my childhood. The hot prepared food is better than most Filipino restaurants in the city. The bakery is stocked with every freshly baked Filipino carb your heart can handle. In just one day of opening, Seafood City has officially become my happy place. We are no longer limited to a 2-foot international section at the local H-E-B. Imagine aisles upon aisles of your favorite foods in every flavor imaginable: canned meats, longanisa, chicharron, biscocho, Danish cookies (or maybe sewing kits?), international sodas... Seafood City is all that and a bag of (shrimp) chips!Grill City, restaurant inside of Seafood City, offers all of the most loved Filipino dishes, such as BBQ skewers, adobo, all the pancits, lumpia, kare kare, foot-long turon, and more! And can you say FRESHLY FRIED CHICHARRON?! My heart is saying yes, but my arteries are saying no. Everything I tried at Grill City was excellent, and I never have to wait for a party at my tita's house to enjoy my favorite dishes again.Bakers Avenue offers every variety of Filipino baked good you can dream up - ensaymada, celebration cakes (like ube macupuno, and sansrival), and ALL the pan de sal. Now that I've discovered the corned beef-filled pan de sal, my life (and waistline) will never be the same. **Pro-tip: If you're buying something from the bakery, make sure to pay for it AT the bakery. Items in the bakery without a barcode cannot be purchased during grocery checkout.Hungry Filipinos and Filipi-nots (womp womp) alike will fall in love with this supermarket. Whether you're looking to expand your repertoire of canned meats, craving a piping hot Filipino bento box, or just need to replace your old tabo, Seafood City has you covered."
"One stop shop for everything I need, when I need it.This isn't a "staples" grocery store for the average Dwight.Lots of product available in bulk. Not the most convenient location to get in, park and out of.Connected next door is their own restaurant; will be back to try that as it smelled delicious!Necessary addition to the area with a good response so far."
"Awesome little grocery store. Basically the size of a big gas mart. Has all the indian foods you need. Large selection of frozen foods that you can just heat up. I got some yummy samosas!!"
"Great food and service- would come back again soon! We got the 6 veggie combo and aware tins and chicken stew. All delicious and we took home leftovers. Great service, they brought more injera without asking, such a great find."
"Lovely grocery. Clean an very well stocked. Bought Vietnamese yogurt and tried it for the first time. Now I cook my own. They had prepared food that I'd never seen sold before."
"Vishala is a low key Indian grocery store in the Katy area. It has a variable selection of Indian groceries considering the small size. I like coming here because pricing is awesome plus they make fresh food. Recommend the butter chicken, paneer masala and green onion roti. Whilst these curries have great flavor, they tend to be on the watery side. They also have some fresh baked naans, rotis and fried snacks available. This is where I suggest to go if you are looking for inexpensive, exotic spices. We stocked up on green and black cardamom, turmeric, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pomegranate seeds, asafoetida and garam masala. It's also a great place to get tamarind. There is a crazy selection of different types of rice. The typical basmati, brown basmati and this seriously small grained basmati. Those are just a few they carry. Plenty of lentils, mung beans and chickpeas too. Produce is a smallish section but everything looks really good. There is also yoghurt. A lot of yoghurt. Even gallon sized. Waaaay cheaper than what you can get at HEB or Kroger and very delicious. There are little finds around the store. Unusual pastas, different snacks and candies too. Coconut oil is less expensive here as well as beauty products (especially hair care). If you're adventurous and love Indian food, this is definitely a place worth checking out."
"Growing up my default Asian Grocery store was Hong Kong. It was newer, it was closer, but now Viet Hoa is closer and actually much cleaner. We come here right after church on Sunday's to pick up our Asian veggies and Chinese BBQ.Their roasted pork is one of the best in the city!"
"I thought this market was great even though it didn't have some items I needed. The market was very nice and clean and had lots of open space. The selection of produce and pantry staples is very nice. The meat is also fresh and they definitely keep their seafood area nice and clean which I like a lot compared to 99 Ranch Market. Welfresh also has nice specials and a little buffet inside with fresh food. I didn't get a chance to try it but it smelled delicious! I also like the dessert options here. Overall I really liked it and I will be back."
"I'm aca with it if you want to go here by yourself, but I wish you'd take me with you. We're talking about the mother of all Turkish grocery stores... and the father too. They have all the Turkish stuff, it's small but it's packed and loaded, prices are mid to high but damn it's amazing if you're over here from Turkey and miss your home goodies.Combined with the Istanbul Truck on Westheimer near Hillcroft, this is all the Turkishness you'll ever need."
"I always will Drive Pass Masala pantry most of the time . I finally decided to try them out and I was pleased! Available parking options . Well organized store . Nice price. You do not have to drive far off into town to get some Indian food no more . Customer service is great . I love the samosas! I believe it's buy one get one free!"
"i think i have a love affair with Ca Mao for real. eg kids taken to school, a little bit of precious free time...and my thoughts have been about this first bite of banh mi and washing it down with a sua da for breakfast. i can't even finish it, i must write about this now and hope someone concurs. often i find myself aimlessly wondering the depths of h-town asian markets in vain perusing the shelves for a specific drink from Hanoi that i only can find in Ca Mao: canned Highlands Coffee, to die for, which is the epitome of coffee, imho, using the staple of the second largest producer of coffee beans in the world, Vietnamese robusta, the best type of bean that no one knows about and if you appreciate coffee at its roots for taste alone or secondly if you can see its future (which robusta is, ie more green, easier & cheaper to produce, more able to withstand climate impacts vs arabica, and superior flavor when done properly, like in this sua da). i digress because Highland perfectly segues into this market, a Vietnamese town center that has thrived and expanded massively over the years for a simple fact: everyone knows and loves their food and drink. interesting major historical side note: Highland was the first overseas Vietnamese private company registered in Vietnam in 1998. So also Ca Mao makes tons of proper, fresh banh mi baguettes everyday, the kind that crunch on the outside and are that perfect sponge for absorbing the meat & pickled vegg juices inside. their banh mi is heo quay (roasted pork) Xa Xiu (bbq pork, the pink sweet pork that is usually found in authentic Banh Mi) so basically bbq pork but with cracklings from the skin as you can see in my pics, a double crunch when you combine with the banh mi bread. the xi xiu is on a vertical spit hanging in the window literally sopping wet, profusely dripping, from which they shave off pieces including the crackling on the outside, like a trompo or spit, reminiscent of shawarma/pastor, into the banh mi. an experience indeed! and this is just the back. i've found everything i love here, like right when you walk in are the phins for viet drip coffee and cafe du monde NOLA bean cans, another passion of mine that is the american equivalent to the traditional vietnamese exported robusta in terms of flavor profile with its classic chicory and dark roast, the perfect substitute and typical beans used in most sua das found in USA. it's basically a kitchen supply store here too. i've even found ridiculously priced cleavers, straws, bowls, you name it. they always have really fresh produce like crazy cheap yet huge cilantro as well as lemongrass and bok choy, to name a bit. my kids always find some fun snack. my favorite brand of bulgogi marinade is here too, and so are amazing prices on a variety of spices i constantly need, like black peppercorns. my local best deal on sesame oil is here as well as rice noodles. i've only just begun exploring their ice creams, one of which was a boba, a coffee one (right up my alley), and mochis. i feel like i'm always discovering new things each visit. come see for yourself!"
"This is a gold mine when you walk into it! It has what you need to make a meal and plenty of fish selection. We walked into this store to check it out and we're glad I did. Different types of ramen, eggs and vegetables are available for you at this local neighborhood grocery store. Efficient, safe and affordable. SUPPORT LOCAL!"
"The store is good. Has all necessary indian groceries. Attitudes are not bad from my experience ... which brings to the conclusion that if you want cheaper prices then go drive to highway 6 and waste 4 dollars or more gas to save 1 dollar ... Desi mentality is theb issue not the store. It's like gas why the hell would you drive 5 miles to save .50c per gallon and waste time, energy and gas to go there. SMDH"
"Brand new mom and pop Filipino store in Katy! Staff were very nice and welcoming. Actually surprised by the size of the store. They have very good variety of Filipino foods from snacks, frozen meat, condiments - this place has it all.. This store packs a punch in terms of variety and is a great one stop shop for your Filipino grocery needs. The store is also super organized and clean. They even set the ambiance by playing some good old OPM in the background.Overall, if you live in Katy and in need of Filipino snacks/groceries but don't want to drive to Sugarland or Chinatown this store will do the trick"
"HOUSTON, TX 77077 / JAPANESE GROCERY / MULTIPLE VISITS+Various bento boxes or to-go plates.-No loyalty rewards program like H Mart (i.e., spend $1,000 get $10 coupon certificates).-The sashimi or sushi isn't fresh all the time. There has been many times where the fish was already undergoing the trimethylamine process."
"This place does the job. I hate the parking, the long lines, and sometimes the people, but it has the biggest selection of items compared to other Vietnamese markets in the area. Just know that there are ridiculous people everywhere, and this place is no exception. There was a lady who opened all the egg cartons and chose each individual egg to switch into one egg carton. There was another woman who decided that she would silently walk up and stand next to me while I was in line. She kept trying to move an inch forward and skip the long line without saying a thing. Then, she opened her mouth and asked to go ahead of me while already putting her things down. There is no point in raising your hand if you're going to be talking at the same time. There is no point in asking me if you're already doing all that you can to skip in line. There was another occasion when someone pretty much ran over another customer with her shopping cart. She was going straight. The old woman was right in front of her. She only crashed into the old lady because she acted like the aisle was all hers and was speeding through with those sunglasses on. Oddly enough, I don't remember seeing this level of absurdity at other Vietnamese/Asian markets. Come here often, be patient, and you will achieve enlightenment."
