It's time to update my review from 2014. I occasionally visit this restaurant with this being my second time this year. Last weekend I ordered the shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas and charro beans for $16.50.First to come out were the chips and salsas. I have always thought Casa Imperial has some of the better chips and salsas in Houston and I still feel that way. Nice and crunchy chips with a deliciously red salsa and nice avocado salsa. I eat too many of them.The entree arrived about 10 minutes later. The small bowl of charro beans had plenty of content and flavor. The fajitas were very good too but I wish they had given me a little more onion. Table service was prompt and attentive.Casa Imperial is an above average Tex Amex restaurant with a big menu and plenty of parking in front.

Food is good. I ordered the chicken flautas. The salsa is not spicy and could use some salt. To the cook - don't be afraid to make spicy salsa. Studies show that men like their salsa to be extremely spicy. Women are in the middle. The rice has good texture but needs a dash of salt. Beans were good & the Chicken flautas had a delicious flavor. Everything was hot and fresh. Ready in 10 mins for pick up. Im really surprised this came out good. My only complaint is the salsa. In response to the owner replying back to me. The server spoke English she is the only one who came to the table and another server who spoke English is the other one who came to the table it was the server who spoke English you came to our table 5 times and asked if we were ready to order we were not so just to let you know it wasn't any bussers it was a server who spoke English and another server who spoke English and they turned the music off in the middle of our meal we will never go to this restaurant ever again if the heater wasn't working and y'all were closing early you should've let us know when we walked in the door and we could've left and gone somewhere else where we could've enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve meal

Soooo I've been coming to Casa Imperial for several years now, it's very close to work and convenient, quick for lunch! Very consistent in quality, meaning I have not had any odd visits where food was cold, not right. I think a forgotten charro beans sub for refried is the only order I've ever had come out wrong, and that's minor easy fix. Staff deserve a raise... bc...The staff are the 1st star of the show!, and why I love eating here, they are great. From being attentive, to giving you space while you're chomping down on a bite, they balance that perfectly. No, this is not rock star- knock your socks off amazing Mexican food. But it IS very good, fast, hot, tasty, consistent with amazing service. My opinion, that's enough check boxes marked to = great place to eat.

Horchata was bad. Both the red and green side tasted weird. The mango sauce on the Carlos special was horrible and the vegetables was unedible. The cheese on the tacos was also bad. We left after the first few bites. I paid right away and left.
