We haven't been here in a few years after two or three mediocre experiences, but after a visit this week, I feel like House of Ribeyes deserves a write up.House of Ribeyes (or simply "Ribeye's" to Oxford locals) is a pretty unassuming cinder block building with pretty minimal parking. Walk in, and there's a full bar/lounge, and a separate dining area. The kitchen is open, and you can watch as they cut and grill their namesake steak. The menu is kind of a classic steakhouse fare, with some calabash/style seafood tossed in. I went for the mushroom Swiss burger, and was pleasantly surprised. Well-seasoned, char-grilled, stacked on a not-brioche bun, I got the baked potato on the side. To sum it up: satisfying. Not pretentious, just plain and simple. Oh, and I have to mention the salad bar. Having grown up in the heyday of the salad bar add-on, the salad bar has a guilty pleasure status with me. Stack the iceberg high, garnish with the pickled beets, (real) bacon bits, pickled peppers, chunky blue cheese dressing- I'm kind of happy. We didn't try the bar service out (just some sweet tea, please), but we may next time around. And maybe that is what is surprising: the last time few times we've left, we have done so saying "maybe we shouldn't go back." But, we both agreed that Ribeye's deserves a "next time." If you're in Oxford, consider House of Ribeyes for a simple, affordable, unpretentious meal.

The best Steakhouse in Oxford NC. This is a good steakhouse in a small town. We had an extremely large party in private room. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating a difficult group. The steak was cooked perfect, the quality of meat was average a little fatty and could have been more tender, but was cooked as ordered. I would definitely eat here again when in Oxford.

This place is excellent. It's a small restaurant and not fancy but they know how to cook a steak! If you love a great tasting Ribeye with a traditional steak house salad bar and baked potato you've picked the right place.. Of course we visited the salad bar first and it was fresh, clean and brimming with fresh veggies and dressings. We ordered Ribeyes with loaded baked potatoes that were served with Texas toast and a glass of house Cabernet. The steaks here are done to perfection. We both had to take food home we were so full! We did leave room for their cheesecake though! The service here is exceptional. Our server was on her game. She always had our drinks filled, made great recommendations and was super friendly.

4 stars for the steaks! You won't think it's much by appearance and the inside isn't that nice but the food is great. It's like a hidden gem in Oxford! It's the house of ribeyes so of course I'd recommend getting the ribeye! It has a great grilled, Smokey, flavor and it was cooked to perfection! Nice and tender. They don't have the salad bar open to patrons but they give you a sheet and you check off which items you'd like in your salad and the waitress will prepare it for you! Pretty neat.

Good Local Ribeye Restaurant Nice, clean, spacious restaurant. Offers lunch specials but only ribeye offered was a 4oz steak (pictured) with one side. With such a small steak (cooked well & flavorful I must add), I wanted a side salad, which I was told was not offered. My only choice was the salad bar. The salad bar was fresh but I didn't need that much for lunch. If your only choice is small steak, then offer a small salad. In the bowl are sautéed onions, not an additional side. On the dinner menu, ribeyes are offered in 2oz increments, i.e. 4oz, 6oz, 8oz and so forth. Friendly staff.

Driving through NC and based on reviews decided to go a bit off the path to try this place. Super nice staff but that was about it. Ordered ribeye sandwich with sweet potato...got chips instead. Tasted good but nothing special. Hubby ordered pork chop sandwich. Again ok but nothing spectacular. Son ordered shrimp burger. They literally brought over a huge plate with a stick of shrimps, one piece of plain toast and some chips. I questioned this so they took it back and I see the dude with his hands (No gloves) pull the shrimps off and pulling the tails off. He put it on a bun with lettuce and brought it back. And mind you that I watched him open snack bags of lays chip and put them on the plates. So definitely not recommending this place at all! Two stars for the nice staff only.

Service was excellent. I had asked for a medium rare steak and it came out as medium well. I asked for a medium rare and it came out very rare. They tried one more time and it was good.

Passing through the area and looking for a bite to eat more than fast food. This was a great place with options for meat and seafood lovers. We even got to watch as the meat was cut right by our table. Glad we stopped in. Simple but good.
