This was not a dinner, was a flavor experience. When we went in, we were welcomed and prepared for the food courses . The wine and drinks were perfection, and the food was innovative, delicious, and well worth an extra stop in Miami. We took my mother and foodie preteen...with diverse palates...and every single one of us were wow'ed.The decor and ambience will take you away.The presentations and flavors were all on point--the descriptions of what we were eating and how prepared were as inspiring as they were flavorful. This spot is definitely worth scheduling for!

Do not judge a book by its cover! Tucked away like a speakeasy in Little Haiti, you'll find a wonderful gem run by Chef Franco and his wife. From the warmest welcome to the exquisite dishes, you drown in delicacy, and the cocktail pairings are just insane. Listen to their website advice of not driving, the wine is as strong as they warn you. My husband and I are SUSHILOVERS, and still talking about a memorable night, all our fellow diners in this intimate setup were blown away as well. A MUST DO in Miami, worth every cent.

Fascinating, impressive experience. My mom saw this restaurant reviewed on Check, Please and became obsessed with going for her birthday. The food was very innovative and had tons of unexpected touches. One of our rolls had chocolate cake mixed in with plantains and wrapped around ceviche, among numerous other layers. Nicky did an amazing job with drinks, especially presentation. And they made my mom feel so special - birthday beads, individualized place cards, a dramatic dessert plating and entrance. She absolutely loved it. Best part of the night for me was when Nicky mentioned the cat sanctuary they support with any gratuities left. I got to see a ton of photos of their kitties and share some of my own. It was a truly unique meal and the food was surprising - but I think I will best remember the warmth and hospitality from Nicky. She absolutely made our night.

All I have to say is WOW!!!! Our night at House of Food Porn was truly a magical experience. I have eaten at many different restaurants all over the world, and I have never had a food experience like the one we had here. To start, the restaurant is tiny. They only open up 12 seats a night and everyone starts at the same time, so it's a very familial feel. You are greeted by the host Nikki (who is amazing) and you are sat in a U-shape table, introduced to everyone you are dining with, and given a glass of wine. From there, a real show begins. Chef Franco comes out to tell you about himself and how he came to making Shushi, which in it of itself is very interesting. And then the courses start coming out (many with paired cocktails in beautiful glassware shaped like animals) and you eat before he tells you what you have had. It makes it fun and really encourages you to open up your palate to flavors you may not otherwise have tasted. With every course we were blown away by the uniqueness and absolute explosion of flavors. I couldn't even tell you which Shushi was my favorite as they were all spectacular.If you are ever looking for a truly unique, interactive dining experience full of delicious food, then you MUST try House of Food Porn!

If you want interesting, delicious food in a warm, inviting setting, topped off by having an absolutely delightful EXPERIENCE, this is the place for you! Nicole extended a gracious welcome the moment the door opened and continued to impress us with her friendliness and warmth throughout our visit, a real gift to make you feel like you're already friends. The food was unique and unlike anything I've had before. It was fun having Chef Franco quiz us on what we thought we might be tasting, sometimes spot on, other times with a "wow, wasn't expecting that"! Loved our two delicious cocktails, and their house wine paired great with the food. Since this really is an intimate experience, getting to talk to the other guests felt like we'd all been invited to an exclusive dinner party. I keep thinking this was really Dining as Art. I'm still smiling...

I did not know what to expect but it was a super cool experience which I would highly recommend to anyone who loves food. I strongly urge anyone coming here to Uber, as it did not appear that there was parking. Once you traverse the red carpet to go inside you immediately get a boudoir type vibe, and are greeted with super enthusiastic host, Nicky, who gave us a welcome by name. The seating area was a U shape with a max of 10-11 people. We were all introduced to the other guests and had our own seats identified by a handwritten name placard. There was an attention to detail in the entire experience, whether it was the place setting, the drink garnishes or food presentations. We were given 6 servings, and each serving would come out, we would try it, then we would attempt to identify what it was and then we were told what it was. We were able to identify some items, but we were completely surprised by others. All items were prepared in a cooked sushi type roll and were generally Latin/Cuban inspired. I tried to take notes so I could more accurately describe the evening and here were some of the descriptions as given to us by the chef, Frank: Unagi, beans, riceSalmon eggsGF soy bathGorgonzola, whitefish, sheep curry, pasta outsideTikka masalaChipotle siracha sauce on topJamon de bellota Unagi, beans, riceSalmon eggsGF soy bathBacalao, conch and swordfish Plus bowfin roeBulls blood Guava and briocheThe flavors were all delicious and we were given full descriptions after we tried each serving. It was fascinating palette wise, as I had never not known what I was eating at a restaurant. Taking the bites of these delicious handcrafted rolls were one mouth watering experience after another. Chef Frank did not disappoint and clearly has a real love in making unique and delicious plates for us to enjoy. At the beginning he gave us a background of how this all began, which was by attempting to create sushi that his Cuban mother would eat. When she refused raw fish, he rolled up his favorite Cuban dishes into sushi rolls, that he affectionately call "Shushi " after his Mother's strong accented pronunciation of sushi. Hence his description of his food as "Shushi" was born. Overall it was an incredible and intimate experience that I would recommend for all.

This was a unique, private experience or encounter. This personalized experience is one that I would recommend. Chef Frank and his wife make you feel as if you are diining with them at their home while offering a truly exceptional dining experience.This is a place that I highly recommend. The food is truly and exceptional. Try the specialty cocktails, all.paired with the delicacy Chef Frank has prepared for you. Oh! A plus is that Chef Frank catered to my dairy allergies. Let them know of any allergies ahead of time! Loved the food and the overall experience.
