Hop Alley is an absolute banger! Sure, we had to wait an hour to get seated (it was a Saturday night, I get it), but let's be real: I'd wait an hour in the freezing cold if it meant getting a taste of that bone marrow fried rice again. I went with a group of 3 and ordered several meals worth of food -- not one but two daiquiri porron, duck rolls, bone marrow fried rice, Sichuan boiled beef, and the Vietnamese iced coffee waffle because why not.Everything was so delicious it should've come with a warning label. I myself am not a huge fan of Asian fusion, and the group I went with are very picky when it comes to our Asian food, but this place threw all our preconceived notions out the window. The bone marrow fried rice is like a minimalist painting of food that blows your mind with flavor. The boiled beef was numbing but incredible and packed with a satisfying balance of salty, spicy, and umami goodness. Service was speedy, vibes were great, our waiter was a gem, and if I could rate this place 11/10, I would. Highly recommend--just be ready to fight the urge to lick the plate!!

Hop Alley was a huge disappointment. I cannot understand why anyone would honestly rate the food here five stars. The quality and preparation of every dish was poor on the night of our visit. The sliced beef with the egg dip was near inedible. The meat was sooooooooo dry and cold . The dip was literally soy sauce and egg yolk . The eggplant dish was sooooooo salty and one dimensional. The dumplings were truly the worst we have ever had ! I'm not exaggerating . I confidently rate them number 1 for the WORST dumplings ever served in a restaurant. The only thing that was kind of ok was the cold tofu , but even it wasn't anything to write home about . The whole meal was embarrassing. Super expensive for terrible food. I totally feel ripped off. The one star is for the friendly service . They are nice people. It's an esthetic space and they play unexpected music you would not typically hear in a restaurant. So I get what they are trying to do. However, no way I would ever recommend anyone come here for food . I waited 3 months before writing this review because I wanted to be fair and not be overly reactive. But even now , thinking about the whole experience at Hop Alley makes me upset . It was a waste of money and time .

I feel like I'm being a little generous here with the 4/5 but I'll let it slide. Hear me out, I genuinely think this place should be a 5/5 given their menu, vibes, and potential but idk if the kitchen had an off-night or what but the food just was a bit lacking. The concept was pretty cool, I really liked the interior design and the music was r&b and hip hop. I was PUMPED to come here. The reviews are insane and the menu is right up my alley (pun intended) so maybe I came in with too high expectations. I was mainly looking forward to the la zi Ji and the bone marrow rice. The la zi ji was good but genuinely pretty dry, and you can't see it in the picture. The bone marrow fried rice had good base flavor but was kinda missing some sortve "pop" to it. I was really excited to try it but it was just kinda oily. The broccoli was DELISH and the noodles were great too! But I wish they were a bit spicier The food was good I just think maybe next time the kitchen will be on their game a bit more. I'm really looking forward to trying it again! Service was really quick and nice!

I've heard such great things about Hop Alley and it's been on my list to try for awhile now. It did not disappoint! I came here with a couple of friends and we got a couple dishes to share. They were all very tasty and good portions of food and we left with to go boxes because we got so full. Mt favorite dish was the duck roll and eggplant. They were both super flavorful! The staff was very kind and answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend this place if you are wanting a good meal out!

Had the best experience during happy hour recently with some close friends. The staff were friendly and we had great service, but the food was WOW! We ordered a little bit of everything: Crab Rangoons, Octopus, Mushroom Fried Rice, Bone Marrow Fried Rice, Bavette Steak, Lamb Bao Buns, and some drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Didn't get many pictures, but the food was amazing. The Mushroom rice was to die for, I've been craving it ever since! The restaurant is upscale, pretty large inside, and has seating in the front and sides/bar. We are so excited to go back soon!

This was my husband and I's first time and it definitely blew our minds! As we entered the restaurant, it looks a little small but there is more seating. I really appreciate the cooks visible and a bar seating area. We went on a Saturday night around 6pm and luckily we were able to be seated right away! Food --Chilled Tofu 5/5 -- my favorite dish!! Everything paired so well together and it was spectacular. It is really flavorful and the juice can be overpowering but I rec eating it with rice!! Hong You Chao Shou 5/5 -- really tasty and flavorful. The chili oil is a little spicy and would rec putting it on the side. Mushroom Fried Rice 4/5 -- the rice was really great and the mushroom was super flavorful! The only thing I felt about this dish was that it was a little salty. Braised Pork Shank 5/5 -- the flavor was amazing! When you make a sandwich, it pair nicely was the fermented veggies! It complimented each other. Overall, I was definitely amazed by the food! The service was great when it came to filling our cup but our waitress didn't really come by often. Def great!

Hop Alley never disappoints! The cocktails are creative and delicious, and the staff? Always friendly, knowledgeable, and hilarious. Be ready for some spice--every dish packs a punch, so it's not for the faint of heart. But if you're into bold flavors, you're in for a treat. Love the new expanded space too!

(Duck rolls have 4 rolls to share, forgot to take picture) The duck rolls were very average imo, not bad but not worth the price. The fried mushroom rice was super tasty but also at the end of the night was just mushroom rice with an egg. That chicken was absurdly spicy, I can definitely tolerate some spice but that was to a level of spice where you couldn't even taste the chicken. The drinks - pretty good? But also not worth the price.Would say it would be a fun date night space but the dining room has zero privacy or structure to the table arrangement so it's a bit crowded.

My Chinese friend reluctantly calls this the best Chinese food that Denver has to offer, but I don't think that's saying much. The gai lan was the most interesting dish, it had a smokey flavor profile that makes it unique. Eggplant and spicy wontons were standard. Duck roll is mostly cabbage with a small bite of duck.I wouldn't confidently recommend it to an Asian friend. I'm surprised to see that they have Michelin recognition, so you might enjoy it more than I did. Their biggest strength is the service and the ambiance, which were both great.
