The building is green and white and on the corner.I love places like this. Filled with locals and they put so much love into the food. The inside and outside looks like this place was built in the 70s and has been kept together with stickers. On my first visit, I sat at the bar area and ordered the comfy chicken biscuit. Open faced biscuit loaded with chicken strips and country gravy. The gravy has a ton of sausage in it. Food is inexpensive and loaded with flavor. I want to try everything on the menu.On my second visit, I sat at the bar and ordered the chicken sandwich and chocolate chip pancake. The pancake is covered in powder sugar and tastes amazing. Perfect balance of firm and soft. The chicken sandwich is simple yet good. Chicken strips on Texas toast with ranch, spinach, and tomato.

A 94 "Health Score in 2024 works for me!Home Grown is simultaneously old-fashioned and modern. They are clearly welcoming to ALL groups that are "Positive" or "Neutral" (I saw some of EVERYTHING in there...Almost literally - All that was missing was a member of the animal community!) and that's just fine wit' Me.The customer service was STELLAR (BIG UP Jason!!), the food was good and I enjoyed the ambiance. The "Serving size-to-Price" ratio was good and overall I was contented. I will say, that the food was a bit lacking on the seasoning side, but still good.I'd come again; More for the ambiance though, as opposed to the food, but I'd definitely return! The parking area though ample, is a bit tight and people are stupid, inconsiderate and self-absorbed, so it may get a bit tricky getting in and out.

BEST FOOD WE HAD THE WHOLE TRIP Also shout out to our server Abby for making sure we felt right at home. Fried tomatoes. We're going back later to just get orders (notice the s there) the tomatoes tasted fresh and the breading/seasoning was simple and perfect. Bonus for the ranch heads out there Grits were cheesy and good - sweet tea was good - okra was the best I've had out here Very chill spot with lots of local art (I had to get something. This is the first time I looked at the wall of art and didn't scoff at the prices)

I have been coming here since 2016. I hadn't been back since then and I have to say that the food never disappoints. I had my usual which was the French toast with bacon . Everything was made to perfection. The neighborhood had changed a lot since I last ate here but the food stayed true to its delicious essence. The service was fast and my food was fresh! 100% recommend to groups and families.

A hidden treasure in East Atlanta. Parking in back but it's usually full so be patient and someone will leave so you can jump in. Lol. They said it was a half hour wait but a table opened up after 5. Winning!!It's a quick space with 2 large dining areas. Service is super friendly and efficient. Our server came right over and got us drinks. After we placed our order food was out pretty quickly. Portions are generous. The menu is pretty extensive with simple to complex items. Think waffles and eggs to chicken fried steak and everything in between. So stop by if you're in the area and have a nosh!

First timer here. Been wanting to eat here for a minute. But like most restaurants in this area, always a line. I was determined today. So happy I was. First off, they have chicken livers on the menu. I was hooked. But to see all the delicious plates that came out of the kitchen will make me wait in line again. And as a bonus there was a Stranger Thing sighting. Dustin, Finn and Max came in. But it was a wait, so they left. I did get a picture.

We were earnestly suggested Home Grown by ATL locals and various soul food listicles, so we came in on a weekday around 11 AM to get our Southern food fix. I was determined to try fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese, and my partner was ready for his umpteenth serving of fried chicken (lol). The diner space is larger than it appears and has a lot of fun local art/thrifted goods/ etc. on the walls that you can purchase. I regret picking up this sparkly elephant mask made out of found objects and a vacuum tube for its nose ;_; Service was efficient and friendly. I got my fried green tomatoes, a pimento grilled cheese, and my partner got a comfy chicken and biscuit, which is essentially biscuits with gravy and a generous portion of fried chicken on top. The verdict: Pretty tasty, but not mind-blowing. The fried green tomatoes were the highlight; they were nice and crisp and came with some tasty house-made ranch. The pimento grilled cheese was good but I think I should've gotten it unmelted to dip with chips for the *full* Southern experience. It reminded me a lot of Texan Rotel dip, just less gooey and with different peppers. My partner's chicken, biscuit, and gravy concoction was decent but I am not a huge fan of gravy-smothered foods to begin with. Looking forward to coming back to try out their other menu offerings next time we're in Atlanta.

Home Grown has been on my list to try for ages. Now that I've tried their breakfast, I'll definitely be back. It's a super popular restaurant, and was pretty lively for a weekday morning the day that we went, but there is actually a ton more seating than you'd expect from the outside. The atmosphere is laid back, friendly, and easy to relax into. We got coffee, french toast, the vegan sloppy joe, and Kevin's breakfast. We were hungry...and were fully sated afterward! The cheese grits are awesome, as is the chilli on it for Kevin's breakfast. My breakfast buddy appreciated that the sloppy joe was made with vegetables and not just a bunch of fake meat. The flavor of it is kind of on the sweeter side, which is not what I'm used to but is nice regardless. Service is quick, and prices are reasonable. This is the kind of breakfast/brunch place I can get behind.

The food is always delicious. I forgot my servers name, but she was amazing very attentive, but us know what her favorite items are on the menu. We had a good time about certain events going on in the city, but one of my favorite spots here in Atlanta.
