Visiting a friend in Atlanta, I wasn't aware of this place's reputation so thought it was just another steakhouse type of place. I wasn't expecting a perfect burger, the best fries I've had in years (how do they make them??) and excellent service (thanks, Shane). My companion was similarly pleased. Good food, generous portions, excellent service at a reasonable price. Next time I'm in town, I'm going back.

Parking in this neighborhood is not the best. There is a parking lot with valet parking for the customers. You can find street parking in the neighborhood. It never takes me long to get parking but I hate finding parking this way.You can clearly see the venue from the street at the corner. You must walk downstairs for the establishment. Please watch your step. Bar is huge and has a ton of drinks. Two people were manning the bar and they were busy the entire time. The service was still good. I ordered a Manhattan which was strong. The drink came in a martini glass and another on a chiller. Biggest bang for your buck.It was Monday so I got the Prime Rib special (10oz) blackened with a loaded baked potato. I sent the Prime Rib back to be cooked more because it was cold. It tasted good once I got it back.

I already knew I was going to like this place as I descended the stairs into the speakeasy-like atmosphere of this underground eatery. I was here for one thing: Monday's $19 prime rib special. Is it the best prime I've ever had? Doesn't matter because it was $19 and I loved it. I was recommended to get it blackened by some other patrons so I went with it and I'm glad I did. Started with the calamari which I didn't regret. Paired my fulfilling meal with a local beer. I left happy.Like the Terminator said...I'll be back.

Great service, waitress was very funny and personable. Restaurant is very old school, not super fancy, maybe a little dated but it adds to the charm! Great place for a burger and strong classic cocktail. Make sure to order your fries extra crispy!

We had a reservation for Saturday and even though we were a little late the staff were really nice!We got seated and ordered some drinks to start. To start we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was delicious as well with the fresh crispy bread. For the main, we got meatloaf, steak sandwich and center cut fillets with different sides. Everything was amazing and we all enjoyed our meals! Our waiter was great and look forward to coming back again!

Came here on a whim after our original plan fell though. Honestly, we had a great tome. I ahd no idea this was here. It's underground which is cool. You'll be surrounded by stacked stone walls. The bar area isn't exacty as cute as the dining room but that didn't matter to us. We ended up in a dining room with lights and huge stone fireplace. Very cozy. Food was good. we split the artichoke dip which was a decent size for an app. My husband got a burger and onion rings. Burger was good. He finished it but was STUFFED. Counld't finish his onion rings but I tired them and they were very good. Thick cut - not super skinny. I got the Checken sandwhich fried, I had them add pimento cheese (no added cost) and it was very good. Highly reccomend. It was humongous. Like the bun was half the size of the chunk of chicken and I will say I would have liked more pimento cheese but I would absolutely order again. I got my go to French 75, it was good, but very lemony. I had them add some st. germain to my secind one and it was better for me (In like sweet/floral)For desert we wanted the bread pudding but it sold out before we could order desert (so if you want that say it up front) so we split a slice of red velvet which was very moist. Not too much icing, but not outstanding. Server was very friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We would definitely come back and would bring friends here for an unassuming night.

Stopped in this low key gem on Tuesday due to long wait next door. It was full and busy but we were sat right away. Friendly service and I love that all the servers help each other out.I had the salmon and grits and really enjoyed the impactful yet simply stated seasoning. Grits were a bit clumpy as if they were made earlier in the day, but still good. The grapefruit beer on special was AMAZEBALLS!! so refreshing and enjoyable. I'm not even a beer drinker but was intrigued.

Had the Monday night prime rib special. One plain and one blackened. With au gratin potatoes. The sauces they give you with the prime rib are excellent too. All very good. Decent portions and a good value. Made a reservation as place fills up. Server was great. We recommend this place and the specials too.

Are you a snob? Do you stick your pinky out when you hold your glass? If so do not come here. Highland tap is an Atlanta institution. It has a below 4 score on Yelp yet on every nite you go the place is slammed. Why? It's an outdated as hell restaurant, a time capsule into the 90s. I always tell my friends it is impossible to have a bad time at Highland Tap.Went on a Man Date and we both had the time of our lives. One got the Rib Eye, the other got the prime rib. We cut it in half and shared. I've been coming here for 15 years and first shot at the prime rib. Y'all, it's the best I've ever had. We sat at the bar, and the bar tender asked us if we have ever been. I told her Highland Tap is my happy place. I got my dirty martini with Blue cheese stuffed olives and smiled away. Bottom line, food snobs stay away. This is a locals spot, who absolutely adore this place.
