Came here for a special occasion dinner and would definitely recommend it for that. To start the night, we grabbed a drink on the rooftop bar which has an amazing view of the mountains. Go during sunset to get the best view. We took our drinks downstairs for our reservation. Our reserved table still has people at it so they sat us at the bar and provided a free glass of champagne, which was very nice. We didn't have to wait long. The server had great recommendations for drinks and food. Enjoyed each dish, but the rolls were may favorite. We had no room for dessert there so asked if we could get it to go, but unfortunately they don't do any takeout so we will have to try it next time. Great space to take a small group to share a couple dishes.

Came here on a friend's recommendation and loved it! The ambiance is intimate with little nooks built in for couples. The service was immaculate, with great recommendations when we were ordering. For just the two of us, we had a hard time not ordering the entire menu. We tried the tartare that had this incredible combination of crisp shoestring potatoes on top for texture contrast. The fried chicken had three very different sauces that made it even more fun to eat. The breading was perfect and the chicken very tender. The Wagyu short rib was cooked perfectly. And then the shaken rice-- it reminded me of bibimbap, but presentation and flavor was great. **whatever you do, you HAVE to order the bread. It's very unassumingly located in the bottom right corner of the menu. But it's the most soft and pillowy milk bread rolls I've ever had paired with butter and bonito flakes. And last but not least-- dessert! We were so stuffed but had to try the ice cream. The red miso added depth to the ice cream, and the toppings of lingonberry, chocolate & caramel were so complementary. We did the "full send it" recipe which also came with a brûléed banana and cone pieces-- amazing

Love the cozy, airy vibe here; the super friendly and knowledgeable staff; and the creative, flavorful dishes. The pricing is very reasonable, too.The chicken liver toast ($10) is not only gorgeous, but also delicious and full of different textures. Their Texas toast is made with high-quality heirloom grains, which I also thought was cool.Popcorn chicken ($10) was fantastic! Juicy inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, but not too crunchy or overbreaded. Highly recommend any of their fried chicken dishes after having that! The sashimi platter was beautiful and tasted great, but at $26, I'd honestly pass on this next time and get sashimi at a sushi spot. The dry-aged half duck was sooooooo good! Perfectly cooked and so much flavor, even in the purple lettuce leaves on the side (not sure exactly what they were). It's the most expensive main at $78, but considering the quality and that it is easily big enough for two, I'd say that's reasonable. I'd love to try the pork chop char siu next time ($65) -- and their wagyu short rib is only $58 (all these are meant to be for two people).

Me and my boyfriend Had a WONDERFUL experience with our first time at Hey Kiddo. We stopped in for a few drinks and apps and the staff was so accommodating to sit us at the bar. Our bartender, Ben, was awesome. He made some speciality cocktails for my bf which he was blown away by. He knew what he was talking about. The service all around was impeccable. I asked for a napkin cause my hands were sticky and someone from the kitchen brought me one and a different bartender got me a hot wet towel. Can't ask for more. We only tried the oysters and the potato pave which were both really delicious. The potato needed a little salt but Ben went and grabbed that for us quickly. The ambiance is lively and the interior is so well done. It's a place you want to hang out. We only wanted to stop for 1 drink but ended up having 5 between us 2. I'm excited to come back and have a full dinner experience but I can imagine we'll be back for drinks and apps at the bar soon too!

A fantastic surprise. A friend of mine whom I trust with my life had this on his list and I was in the area so I hopped in. Bam! Everything was on point. Service sweet, design funky and airy, the menu unique and the food bangin! I got the homegrown for a cocktail which was fresh and herbaceous. Then of course the chicken liver mousse which looked just like a birthday present that you can eat. Next the bread and butter which didn't look remarkable from the menu but I'm a bread person so had to ask and it was highly recommended, for a good reason: it slaps people. The butter was oozing out amidst a nest of greenery and flavor. But my most favorite was the potato pave with what? Roe and chicken gravy?! You bet! The gravy was crazy good and the fresh dill and roe added the perfect flavors. For dessert I went with the red mochi ice cream with lingonberry which was a "I want sweet but not too sweet" lovers dream. The perfect quantity and flavors. Go now, try everything!

This place was really weird. It was definitely an older crowd. They were playing rap music that certainly did not fit the atmosphere. Look elsewhere for a better experience.

Had one of my birthday dinners here with some friends and it was a very boisterous energetic space! There was a DJ in house since it was raining did a lot of noise and trying to talk to our guests, but it did set a fun environment. Small but fun menu with innovative, memorable dishes. Not much for vegetarians. The pave potatoes, fried chicken, and the fried rice were incredible! I would definitely come back

Disappointing experience at Hey Kiddo. While the food was tasty, the service was subpar and ruined our evening. We visited on August 30th with out-of-town friends, hoping to showcase Denver's dining scene. Instead, we left feeling frustrated and let down.Issues we encountered:-Confusing explanation about specials menu-Server struggled with basic menu questions and pronunciations-Long waits without updates or communication-Inattentive service throughout the meal-Dishes held up without consulting us-Had to stack our own plates due to lack of clearing-Repeated dessert offers after declining-20% automatic gratuity despite poor serviceFor a $400 meal, the service quality was unacceptable. I sent a detailed email to the restaurant 10 days ago explaining our experience and seeking their input. To date, I've received no response, which further cements my disappointment with Hey Kiddo.I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was so far below expectations that I feel compelled to share. Hopefully, the restaurant will address these issues, but until then, I cannot recommend Hey Kiddo to others looking for a quality dining experience in Denver.

All I can say is WOW! It was an absolute experience to say the least. Woudlve ordered the entire menu honestly if we had another person. They have a 10 course prefix menu that it $75 which is a steal. I have to say the chicken liver mousse was jaw dropping. The waygu steak was perfectly cooked.Got the veggies that were done to perfection. The mushrooms tasted like steak WILD! Order the popcorn chicken thank me later.Had the crudo that was ahi tuna and lord have mercy that was dangerously good. Service was impeccable. Ambiance was 50/10 anytime you have this sort of food coming out the kitchen and they have hip hop music is going to win me over 100% of the time. Potatoepave was a done up version of scalloped potatoes and it was outstanding! Their fried rice was immaculate as well definitely try its Everything on this menu is delicious. They have seasonal drinks as well. Many pictures didn't make the cut. End of day MUST TRY.

Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! The service was probably the best service I've ever had, and the vibes were immaculate. Great music and a great time!
