Heath's Steak House

My experience here started on a not-so-great note when seated in the center of the restaurant at a table, my husband went and politely requested a booth instead (before we even got waters or anything so not much to move) and the host quickly came to our table and snatched the menus right out from under me and tossed them down on the new table and walked away, seemingly very irritated. It took several minutes to be greeted after that and many of the staff seemed flustered, running around the restaurant. Our waitress, though, was phenomenal, very attentive, knowledgeable and kind so she very much saved the evening in regards to my attitude toward this establishment because had it been based solely on the hostess, I would definitely not return. We ordered the fried green beans, which were exactly what we expected and were tasty. They were out of the 6oz filet so I had to be 8oz but it was cooked perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. The "stuffed" potato was interesting and a bit too cheesy for my taste, but wasn't bad overall. They serve Pepsi products here in case you're a Coca-Cola girl like me, just a heads up! Salad bar is one trip only with a very small salad plate & not bottomless like many other steakhouses offer but was a decent selection of options for salad toppings and dressings (although dressings are not labeled) The interior is a bit dated but overall nice and clean.

Enjoyed our meal. No frills but good service. Prices were appropriate. A good find for the area. Highlight was a clean and well kept salad bar.

If you don't know it's there, you'll drive right past this wonderful steakhouse. It's located in a non- descript strip mall and has been around for quite a while, evidently.It's family owned, and they actually work in the restaurant. It's clean, the staff are friendly. The décor is homey and welcoming. You'll just love being in there and hanging out with family and friends while you have a meal. My favorite thing is that they're open Wednesday through Friday for lunches 11 to 2. They have a great selection of sandwiches with fries, chips, or a cup of soup. You may sub any side for the salad bar or French Onion soup for an upcharge. If you can't make it for lunch, they're open 4:30 - 9 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. They have wonderful fresh steaks cooked to order. They offer a limited selection of fish, both grilled or fried, a rotation of soups, and an excellent variety of starters.It's great to have a steakhouse of this caliber without having to drive to Raleigh or other big cities.Their fresh brewed iced tea is yummy. I'm an unsweetened iced tea drinker, and theirs is top-notch.Desserts are also delicious. I enjoy the chocolate lava cake with a glass of red wine, it's divine!

I really like this place. The Staff really cares about your dining experience with them. The steaks are on point. I'm a Ribeye Guy and they did not disappoint in that area. There isn't a lot of glitz and glamour but it is a very clean and kept resturant. The only thing I wish is you could go more than 1X to the Salad Bar. It's a little pricey but well worth it. My boyfriend and I tried this steakhouse last night and we were impressed! The prices are reasonable, the waitstaff is great, and management checks on every table to make sure you're enjoying your meal. I ordered a Long Island iced tea to start and it was lacking alcohol. For a $12 drink, I expected more. But then I ordered the lemon drop martini and I was very happy. It tasted like a boozy lemon meringue pie! I ordered the King's filet with the salad bar and a baked potato. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib with grilled asparagus and a baked potato. His asparagus were sad; overcooked and the portion was tiny. I've read other complaints about the asparagus too. I would definitely advise against ordering it. The salad bar is amazing!!! It has everything you could possibly want on your salad, including lots of salad dressing options. I was so happy! You're only allowed 1 trip, so make sure to load up your little plate. Our meats were cooked perfectly and so were the potatoes. They also give you a complimentary bread basket. It was nice to have a steakhouse option closer to home. The drive out to the restaurant was relaxing and there was no traffic. We will definitely be back!

Food is lacking in every way. Steaks are not cooked to the customer's request but rather to the line cook's idea of what he thinks the customer should eat. If you order medium rare, don't be surprised if you get a blackened, charred piece of leather and are then told that the cook knows better than you do about how your steak needs to be cooked. Requesting that your steak be replaced with a properly cooked steak is not an option. Do not eat at Heath's

Over priced and over hyped in the area. A "who's who" type of place where local folks go to be seen. For all the hype, go to Angus Barn and experience greatness.

All I f the staff, service, salad bar and all the rest of the food is all great and delicious.

Prime rib one of best ever had. Great salad bar. Excellent service. Waiter very conscientious and came to table 9-10 times and kept drinks topped off. Drove from Lumberton's (about 40 miles) and very well worth it.
