Habana Vieja Restaurant

Yummy but also very affordable and authentic Cuban food in Miami, where you can also avoid the tourists. The restaurant can get a little loud, even at lunch because it echos a bit. But other than that, the mojito with refreshing and the palomilla well cooked.

Habana Vieja is a cute little restaurant with a vibrant Latin ambiance. You see a lot of old-school classy Cubans eating here, which is always a good sign. My go-to Cuban meal is the vaca frita, which is always enjoyable here. Pair it was an inexpensive house wine, and you have a good meal that is also affordable. The servers are usually nice and helpful. I would have given this restaurant a solid 4 except that unfortunately, the last couple of times I've gone, I've noticed overall it's not as clean as before. 1 time could be an anomaly, but 2 times is a pattern, so I won't be going back any time soon unless I hear that it's improved.

While visiting my college roommate on a return trip to Miami he suggested a lunch at Habana Viejo and he being of Cuban Heritage I knew it would be a winner and it sure was. I ordered Vaca Fritta with plantains maduro and a second side or Moros. Boy do I miss this type of food as I now live in Southern California. Service was great and the only downside was because they are so busy and so many people meet here for lunch (with like 4 cars for a party of 4) that parking can be challenging. We finished our lunch with an excellent cuban coffee and flan. Overall a wonderful lunch experience and a return visit in store on my next visit to Miami.

Vine a Habana Vieja por lunch y me encanto, aparte que los precios son muy buenos para las porciones que sirven, el sabor de la comida es espectacular. Ordenamos un tamal en cazuela, vaca frita con moros y plátanos maduros y hígado a la italiana con puré de papa y vegetales. Todo estaba delicioso, el ambiente es tipo restaurante cubano, todo muy organizado. El servicio muy amable, la señora que nos atendió me encanto el humor que tenía.

Wow what a turn around today when we went to lunch here ! They greeted us and the waitress (Cashier 14) could not have been nicer ! The food was delicious as always but the service was warm, professional and so nice !! She went out of her way to make sure that we were having a good time and that all was well. This is what needed to happen and I can't wait to return ! Thank you for paying attention.

Good Cuban food served with impeccable high quality servers. Most servers have been there over 20 years. That speaks highly about management. I enjoy the palomilla steak it's exceptional. Upon arriving you may find the strong aroma of cigars outdoors to be rather offensive. It's worst when you leave w a full stomach. The patrons typically drink alcohol outdoors and smoke. If management reads this, I believe he will agree that it might help to relocate the venerable smokers far away from the salle d'attente.

Great food for a great price, especially lunch! 12.99! Service was okay but the ambiance was on point. I got the bistec A la plancha and it was one of my top because it was so flavorful

This Mojitos are must try! Exceptional, real mojito, must do it! Just try and then write if I'm wrong! I tried hundreds of mojitos but this one is different, from how you see it until uYou finish it!

This restaurant has been a staple in my family for years. It was my parents favorite place to enjoy good authentic Cuban food and drinks with friends and family.Last week they hosted my father's 90th birthday.The food and the service was top notch.We had a party of over 20 people and they cater to each and everyone of them. The attention to everyone's needs was amazing.Its a place that welcomes you, not only by providing excellent service but the Cuban ambiance is displayed everywhere, from the décor of the restaurant to the old generation-Cubans patrons that go there to have a good time.
