Hands down the best dining experience I have ever had!the food is all high class, creative dishes you see would expect to come from the brain of Alton Brown. the vibe SUPER casual .. the napkin is a bandana lol. Their seating style promoted conversation with strangers seated at the same table, which was really nice. the service is impeccable! 10/10 the best service I've ever had anywhere. ever. the chefs prepare dishes portioned for two and bring the dish out to your table and present it for you. if you want to try it , you accept the dish you keep it. if you don't you can pass. at the end you pay for what you ateall of the food was so creative and delicious. You have to try the banana pudding! It wasn't too sweet and the bananas reminded me of plantainthe chefs were super dope too. they saw me snapping a pic of the kitchen and asked if I wanted a pic with them. then gave me a Polaroid of our pic If you have a wide palate this is DEFINITELY the place for you. They're designed for at least two in a group so bring a friend and explore. It's worth it!My only notes:- environment is LOUD so you'll need to put your listening ears on as they come around to present the dish. Don't worry, they don't mind repeating themselves or going into more detail. - I wish I could rate/give feedback on the dishes I tried- I wish they had some sort of profile on the chefs at the table so we could learn more about them

I was surprised by my recent experience at Gunshow. We were a medium-sized group for a birthday party on a Friday evening. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant is lively and feels very "part of the action" - it's loud and industrial but in a good way. We sat in the far end of the restaurant, closer to the restrooms. It was pretty warm in there, and the fan in the corner was uncomfortable blowing right on us but also necessary to not get sweaty during our meal. We were able to try a lot of the items on the menu that night, including most of the cocktails. We were really surprised to not be wow-ed by any of the cocktails we ordered (9 different ones!); we wound up switching to wine and beer after that. Some of the dishes were pretty good, others didn't quite hit the mark. I suppose the concept creates a bit of a hit-or-miss risk in general, and that's part of the excitement. What was disappointing was that there were several items that never even came around to us. From a service perspective, I think the restaurant works to really coordinate seating times, so this surprised me. We asked at one point about a couple of dishes, but there was no follow up until after desserts arrived so we decided to not bother with those. We ordered a couple for the table and they were kind enough to send out an additional dessert for the birthday girl. Nothing was bad per se. 3.5 stars might be more appropriate. However, nothing wowed us either, and I did really expect a wow experience that night.

Firstly, you must have a reservation. The atmosphere here is *not* what we were wanting for girls night out. Very busy, open kitchen, loud, lots of people milling around constantly, country style? The theme is a mystery to me, sort of like an industrial Rudy's BBQ maybe, with outrageous prices. We were directly next to a metal storage shelf, felt so cluttered, and like we were in a storage closet not a restaurant. This style of eating is very differing - the chefs prepare their own dishes and bring to the table for you to approve/reject. Sort of awkward really, it's so personal. The drink cart comes by to make certain cocktails. There's really no room for this cart anywhere so it was so close to my sister that she had to sit forward as to not be touching the cart, this lasted about 10 minutes. The drink cart guy was a bit odd, dropped an expletive for some reason. Additionally, only 1 of the 3 drinks was any good (butternut squash was very good). I would not call this food innovative, rather just unnecessarily arduous to prepare. The few dishes we tried were only a few bites of food and were...good. We weren't excited about them. We were already nearly $50 in deep and figured out we would probably leave this restaurant hungry so we bailed early and went somewhere else. This felt like an experimental kitchen, but not in an exciting way. We just felt out of place and underwhelmed. The prices here are just not worth the experience. Maybe with all the chefs and staff their costs are too high? Would not recommend. Lots of good places in Atlanta.

Wow, I have longed to come to Gunshow for so long. The concept is they bring plates around and that serves as the menu and you say yes or no and they drop it off at your table. The chefs are given so much creative freedom and it's just a sight to see. However, 2 huge things. One plate actively tasted like raw hay, no fun textures no additional flavors - just hay. and 2 (more like 2&3) we found TWO STRANDS OF HAIR IN TWO DIFFERENT PLATES. The odds of that is so low but not that day, and especially knowing that something's can be changed in the kitchen. I do applaud the creativity, but hygiene and sanitation easily tops other efforts. And although the staff seemed apologetic - no part of the meal was comped and the dishes with the hair were just taken back. Also, there were not a lot of vegan options so keep in mind if you have such dietary restrictions

*date night tag* Great dinner experience with a twist! We loved the concept that the chefs themselves come up to you and offer up their dish for your tasting pleasure. We really loved the variety and the option to say no to dishes (although this was quite hard sometimes, everything looks so delicious) it's hard to recommend individual dishes because another key feature is that they consistently change their dishes! Great fun lively atmosphere, although it's not the typical fancy, dimly atmosphere if that's what you're going for, a bit more casual.

Let's go!! Well worth the weird seating! Check out my photos and see how I was able to create this nice review for my chef consulting business. My foodie aspirations and teammates enjoy going out around Atlanta and tasting the different menus. This restaurant was in a cute neighborhood and we went and had a pre-dinner drink. Only reason we didn't give a 5 star review was because I got at least 3 ice cubes inside my shoe while the traveling bar cart made semi-potent potables.

If you are in town and/or want to try something totally different? This place is for you. First off, don't think you are going to casually walk in without a reservation. Be sure to have reservations or you will not be seated at all! 8:15pm reservations on a Saturday night we were seated a few minutes after, shared long table for two we sat right across from each other. The server handed us a paper menu and explained the way this place works. Allow me to break it down: There are anywhere between five and seven (+/-) talented chefs cooking in plain view and offer a menu of shared items. The list of about 10 items or so will come out randomly, brought out by the chef who made it and you get to decide whether you want it or not. The catch - if you decide to pass on it there is no guarantee it will come back again. So, review the menu and when it comes your way you have an idea if you want it . Anxiety level? 10 at first! We said YES to the first three dishes but after that we got the hang of it. Don't like it after you accepted it? You're stuck with it, buddy. Drinks? Cocktail menu is broken down into two - the ones they have at the bar and the ones they prepare table side. Yes, table side - pretty cool. There's a video i posted. Take a look! The menu changes either daily / weekly but here's my ultimate lowdown. Food: Talented chefs. The creation on the plate makes you think you're on a TV show (except you're paying for it). The flavors primarily were on point and the presentation was without fail. The tableside cocktail drinks were definitely a show but felt it was lacking on the alcohol level. Final thoughts: Great place for something DIFFERENT. Who knows, you may have just stumbled on the next greatest chef. The concept is like something we've never been part of. Food was good overall, even the ones we passed on looked appealing but we can't eat EVERYTHING!The service? For being this busy was top notch. Very attentive and making sure we were good. 5 Stars. You'll have a great time if you are open-minded. Just give it a try. Oh - last thing. Crab Stuffed Chicken Wings. HOW? You'll have to go to find out.

I'm a big fan of Mr. Gillespie's going back to his Woodfire Grill days but after two times, I'm hanging up my spurs. I celebrated my birthday on Saturday hoping to satiate my wife and friend's desire for a unique dining experience. I'd forgotten how obscenely loud this tiny place is; think Barcelona (Inman Park) with a loud speaker. I started out with a cocktail that wasn't anything to write home about. We ordered several of the small (mostly overpriced) tapas. I was blown away they had tiny slivers of cantaloupe with jello on top for a crazy price. Being my second time, I knew this atypical dining experience was going to be costly but I really felt like I was overpaying for these one-of-kind very small dishes. The oxtail donut was pretty killer, the oysters were dynamite, everyone (but me) really liked the duck, and I thought the lamb was way too salty. The eggplant with chocolate was surprisingly good, and the crab pasta was the table's fav. The desserts were meh. The service was excellent but all-in-all I wish I had skipped Gunshow and went to my go to Houston's. I can understand why people love this place and I hope it continues to thrive.

This place was AMAZING. Not every dish had flavors or ingredients that excited us, but every dish we ate was fantastic. The cocktails were imaginative and well-made. The servers were extremely kind and helpful. Be aware that it can get warm, but not uncomfortably so, because the entire concept is an open kitchen. The dishes change every few weeks and I can't wait to see what the chefs come up with next.
