I visited this BBQ restaurant for the first time, and it seems the place has recently changed ownership or rebranded from K 109 BBQ to Goem BBQ. A friend who lives nearby and frequents the restaurant recommended it, and they know the owner well. Overall, I had a pleasant dinner with the Pork BBQ set for two and some Soju. The sauce and side dishes were average, not particularly standing out compared to top competitors in town. The price seemed high for the quantity of meat served. While the service and atmosphere were great, something was missing to give it the highest rating for meal quality.

Our family loves pork belly. This place serves thinly sliced pork belly (looks like rolled briskets prior to grilling) and I loved it! It is fast to cook, and doesn't feel/taste the grease/fat from thicker pork belly slices. Banchan option is limited but I feel it is more authentic compared to other popular KBBQ stores. Speaking of authenticity, we were the only non speaking patrons. Everyone else was speaking Korean. To me this is a sure sign that this place is authentic and is preferred by "locals". The spicy marinated pork ribs were grilled /cooked in front of us and the same with kimchi fried rice. Both contain decent amount of sesame oil (the good high quality one) and we noticed the enhance taste due to it.

We spontaneously met my fiance's father here on a Wednesday night. I can't vouch for the unlimited or combo menu ~ Appa ordered the Bulgogi. The banchan came out quickly and the kimchi they served seemed to be bottomless and in a massive container ~ it was just okay. Things you should know:I. PARKINGThe restaurant is in the Assi Plaza. The shared parking lot is huge and will have plenty of free available spaces. Easy. II. SERVICE Our waitress came to attend to the Bulgogi fairly often, as busy as she was. We were very thankful. III. QUALITY The Bulgogi hotpot was delicious. The meat quality was excellent. The banchan, however, wasn't memorable. IV. CAPACITY Lively for a Wednesday night. Glad to see business is well.

When I was in Atlanta my friend and I ate here few times. It was always amazing. Chef Sarah pretty much adopted us. The food is great! We get the bbq usually the small beef and pork set. It's just enough food. Make sure you are hungry and prepared for the meat sweats afterwards. Pictured was the medium set, which they tried to discourage us from getting. There was three of this time but we -barely- made it though. Had to take some of it home in a box. But overall we made a decent dent in it! The inside is fine, nothing overkill. Nice size tables all with the grills and hoods over them. The TVs are playing random Korean dramas or reality shows. We kept coming back just for the quality of the food and the service chef Sarah would provide

Gom K Bbq is located in the same shopping center as Assi, off of Old Peachtree in Suwanee. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, walked through a metal detector and was seated. Banchans we're quickly brought out. We got the Beef set in Medium that feeds 2-3 for my party of 3 adults and 2 kids, and an order of their dumpling soup. The banchans were kinda bland and I wasn't a huge fan of any of it, but my husband and son liked the spicy fish cakes. The dumpling soup was good and full of flavor, I just wished they cooked the rice cakes a little longer because they were hard to chew. The meats were all high quality and cooked over a charcoal grill. My husband enjoyed every bite. We usually like to cook the meats at our own pace but our server stayed and cooked all of our meats the entire time. The dipping sauce provided were salt and pepper, chili oil, sesame oil and hot sauce. My kids barely ate, glad we had another adult there or else there'll be lots of left overs. I was shocked we were allowed to take the leftovers to go. We usually don't ask because most places don't allow it, could be the menu option we selected. We'll have to try the ayce option next time.

Went here for a light lunch. Some members of our party asked for the mixed stew. Others were vegetarian and also averse to spicy food. The server offered the same dish but no spice and extra tofu. The food arrived and was prepared as we requested. Soups and stews not that complex in terms of getting it right, but accommodating custom requests from customers gets this place an extra two stars.

ATL Gom BBQ (or Atlanta Gom BBQ) is yet another solid Korean barbecue restaurant in metro Atlanta. This one teeters on the four and five star line for me. Our dinner here was excellent and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious Korean barbecue experience.ATL Gom BBQ opened in summer 2016 at the Galleria at Sugarloaf, a.k.a. the Assi Plaza shopping center in Suwanee, not far from I-85 exit 109 (Old Peachtree Road). For in-town folks, this restaurant is far -- anywhere from a 30-to-40-minute drive from Atlanta without traffic. It's worth the drive if you, like me, love Korean barbecue and exploring new/different restaurants. Is it significantly better than several of the already very good Korean barbecue options in the area? Admittedly, no; there are just so many great options for Korean barbecue, especially in Gwinnett. That said, I think ATL Gom BBQ is worth checking out if you've never been. Who knows? It might become your next favorite Korean barbecue spot. This restaurant doesn't look as trendy as some of the newer Korean barbecue restaurants that have opened around town in the last five years. However, it's still nice and clean with some modern touches. The interior is cut in the more simple, low-key, and traditional Korean mold, which I appreciate (the newer Korean barbecue restaurants have strayed from this). The restaurant is spacious with a comfortable and casual atmosphere. There are partitioned sections of seating with lots of wood. I love the music playlist which includes K-pop hits from the late 90s (e.g. S.E.S.) through the early 2010s (e.g. Busker Busker). As far as the smoke level and smell is concerned, it's not bad. We left this restaurant hardly smelling like barbecue. Then again, during our visit for dinner on a Saturday night, the place wasn't very busy so that played a role as well. When we visited, the menu contained nine beef options ($21.99-64.99 each), six pork options ($19.99-22.99), and four unique seafood options ($14.99-31.99). No chicken. Like the competition, ATL Gom BBQ offers set course menus and unlimited all-you-can-eat (AYCE) options. There were beef courses ($99.99-149.99), pork courses ($69.99-99.99), and mixed courses ($59.99-169.99).AYCE options included unlimited 90-minute oak-smoked pork belly for $22.99 per person and unlimited brisket, oak-smoked pork belly, thin-sliced pork belly, and pork shoulder for $29.99 per person. While it's a bit more expensive per person, I recommend going with one of the course menus because you get higher-quality and better-tasting meats.Outside of Korean barbecue, the restaurant offers an abbreviated menu of Korean appetizers like kimchi and seafood pancakes ($18.99 each), lunch boxes ($12.99-15.99), and lunch and dinner entrees like noodles and soups and stews ($9.99-23.99). Beverage-wise, they sell soju, Korean rice wine and other Korean alcoholic beverages, as well as beer and wine.We had a group of four and were recommended (by staff) and ordered the "AA" course ($119.99 or about $30 per person). Our AA course included:First grill:* Beef brisket* Thin-sliced pork belly* Pork shoulder* Oak-smoked pork bellySecond grill:* Pork bulgogi* Rib fingers* Charcoal-grilled beefI listed the meats above in the order they were cooked. The "first" and "second" grills refer to two different types of grills that were used to cook the meat. ATL Gom BBQ uses a combination of charcoal and gas grills to cook their food. All of the meats were cooked atop charcoal. The first grill was more of a solid-surface grill with slits cut into it while the second grill was a wire grill, exposing the meats to more charcoal. Generally, the first grill is used for pork while the second grill is used for beef.Overall, I thought all of the meats were quite tasty except for the pork shoulder. The pork shoulder seemed a bit dry and tough to me, but it wasn't anything a little sauce couldn't fix. ATL Gom BBQ provides a housemade sauce which you can add chili paste and chili oil to. It's wonderful. The rib fingers were my favorite. They were incredibly flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth good. The oak-smoked pork belly, which is one of this restaurant's specialties, was fantastic too. All of the meats were good quality.Banchan included kimchi (the more fermented kind), broccoli with gochujang, pickled daikon, jalapeno and radish, macaroni salad, spicy bean sprouts, salad, steamed eggs, and soybean paste soup. Fresh bean sprouts were also thrown on the grill. No dduk bo ssam (rice rolls) here. We also tried orders of their cold noodles (not included with the combo, $11.99 each) and they were A-OK. Condiments included customary fresh garlic and jalapeno, soybean paste, and sesame oil with salt and pepper.Phillip was our server. He was very attentive and lightning quick at cooking. He was so fast that we actually felt rushed while eating. The manager was really friendly and checked on us multiple times. In Korean, "gom" = bear.

I've always seen ATL Gom BBQ but never stopped by, until now. It's located in Suwanee, GA at the Old Peachtree exit off of I-85. It's in the same shopping center as ASSI supermarket.Korean BBQ is safe to say pretty popular in GA. Lots of them offer a similar menu and a similar experience for the most part. With so much competition, it makes it kind of hard to stand out now a days.Interior wise, decor is fairly simple, you have booth seating options with coal grilles built into the table beneath a vented hood for removing smoke. Which I will comment, you definitely don't leave smelling too smoky like some other kbbq restaurants. That's a huge plus is my book. The menu is pretty much like any other kbbq restaurant. All the meat options were pretty much up to par with what you would expect. Didn't see anything too exotic. You can choose to order from the menu or go for preset meaol with the meat already chosen for you. Of course you also have an all you eat option too, which if you order everyone else at your table will have to get as well. Your meal is accompanied with an assortment of small side kimchi and salad base dishes. You also get a steamed egg souffle. Pretty much what you would get at other places too. The meat quality is pretty good overall I would say. Not much to describe here, the meat tasted good for the most part so no real complaints. Beef and pork had lots of flavor and some smoky-ness. By the way they give you a lot of bean sprouts which cook right next to the meat. The bean sprouts takes like they have had some butter added to for a flavor boost.Service was pretty good. They weren't too busy so can't say how it is when it's a packed house. They come by often enough so you really don't get too much of alone time in between the meat cooking so it sort of feels like your server is part of your dining party too. Overall, it's a good Kbbq restaurant. It's sort of hidden so not too many may want to drive out to eat here but it's definitely worth checking out for sure.
