This little "hole in a wall" serves some of the best, if not THEE best BBQ in the Humble area. The meat was tender, flavorful, and tastes like it came off the smoker. The ribs were meaty, a little more fatty than I like for my ribs, but really tasty! The brisket was wonderfully tender and juicy. The sauce was really good, and tasted homemade. The BBQ beans were fire, and the potato salad was good (probably my least fav of the plate.) The portions were more than generous for the price, and the owner (I'm assuming) was really nice and cordial! If you're in the Humble area and want some BBQ, this is the place !

The ribs here are great. Nice bark, soft and moist under it. Food is expensive everywhere, but for what you get here the price is right, and there's nice folks running it. I don't live particularly close to this place, but when I do get over that way, I'll definitely be back.

First time to visit today. I ordered fried catfish - spicy. It came with French fries, hush puppies, and all the condiments. Absolutely delicious!And, it is spicy!

My husband and I love to support local business. I ordered the turkey leg which is huge (see photo) and he ordered a 2 meat plate. He loved his and absolutely loved the beans. I enjoyed the potato salad and even stole his. My only complaint is the green beans. They tasted like pure tomatoes which I didn't like at all. However, everything else was great and would love to come back.

I went for the first time last Sunday and let me tell you.... i'm counting down the days until the next Sunday. OXTAIL COME THROUGH !!!!!! best oxtail i have tasted in Houston! the greens were bomb & the yams good as well. had some of the smoked chicken as well- juicy and flavorful !IF i had to change one thing, it would the option of the rice with the oxtail. i'm not a big rice fan and will probably only eat Jasmine rice but, someone like me would like the option to change it for mashed potatoes. but, I GET IT !! the rice soaks up the oxtail gravy so it is still an overall good dish !

Gilbert and company was recently featured in the Houston Chronicle as being one of the new leaders bringing barbecue to the lake Houston area.This barbecue place is a food truck like structure with an attached covered, outdoor seating area. It has been my experience that barbecue joints that drop the frills tends to be the better places.There is something special to have the pitmaster serve you the product of his hard work. That mutual relationship tends to drive pit masters to do their best work. I got the three meat dinner that consist of ribs, brisket, and sausage. The combo came with two sides of which I picked barbecue beans and potato salad all for $18!The bottom line is this: the food was excellent. The barbecue ribs were flavorful and tender. The brisket was tasty but a little too lean for my personal taste. The sausage was so smoky that I believe it might've gotten a little bit too much smoke. there is a point in time when the smoke turns the meat a little bitter I believe that the sausage was almost at that point. However the barbecue beans, potato salad and the ribs were outstanding.So if the ambience of eating outside or taking to go doesn't bother you or if you're a little uncomfortable going to the Tin Roof barbecue where their political views are so in your face or you're looking for something other than franchise food like Spring Creek that you might want an alternative for the Lake Houston area then give this place a shot.

Let's start with what I like. The portions are massive. The shrimp are jumbo, the catfish is a big filet, the pork ribs could be mistaken for beef in size.Overall the man behind the counter is good at everything on the menu.I was very impressed with my shrimp/fish basket. Well seasoned (mild) catfish, same breading used on shrimp. The level of salt is a little too much for the shrimp but that complaint is minor. Fish is fresh and the batter crunchy. Basket came with again fresh hand cut fries coated in a light batter. Recommend.Three meat plate was enough to feed 2-3. Three massive ribs, lightly seasoned and heavily smoked. Sausage has a great snap in the casing, great really enjoyed the flavor. He brisket is the hands down best, perfectly seasoned, great ring and my cut had the right balance of fat to muscle fiber ratio.I took home the green bean and potato salad for sides. I'm not a fan of the green beans, they are sweet, it was surprising and I couldn't get past two bites. The potato salad will be one of the best at the cook out though, just the right mixture of everything definitely a good one. Also, portions are massive on sides will feed 2-3.Come by and come often.

Came in late on a Sunday afternoon so had pretty low expectations. They still had oxtail and turkey legs were only $5.Just by myself so I didn't try the brisket or sausage. Ordered the oxtail plate with green beans and smoked greens. The oxtail is served on rice and simply amazing. The meat is incredibly tender, flavorful, not greasy. The gravy is the perfect accompaniment. The corn muffin with it is just ok. I wasn't a fan of the green beans because they were sweet. Perfectly cooked, nice meaty flavor just a little too much sugar. The smoked greens were perfect. They were cooked al dente which I wasn't used to, but damn thats how I have to cook them now. The smoked pork brought a massive depth of flavor with a little bite and the pot liquor was crazy good.I thought the turkey leg would just be OK but was delicious. Heavy smoke but still moist and tender near the end of service. Really enjoyed it. Next time will order double greens and shred the turkey leg in it.

Absolutely horrible. No bbq sauce with bbq? Been in Texas all my life and the brisket was the most dried I've ever seen. Did don't even eat it. Mac n cheese was brown. Threw everything in the trash and ordered sonic. The picture is the three meat meal. Don't waste your money. I usually don't post but this was worthy of a negative post.
